D how how was fall camp for you obviously knowing the offense but kind of getting everybody else in the boat with you to you know to to help help learn it as well yeah so it was my third year um in this well going into my third year in this offense so I feel like I know it really well Coach K brought his own um kind of juice to the offense and how we do things so you know we're really excited about that we're really excited about the uh weapons we have on the outside just getting familiar with those guys and throwing with them in the off season um I mean another thing too is is that we got receiver depth that you know we could use utilize and then we got tight ends we can utilize we're going to be a real fun offense to watch come this season was it the exact same offense you played the last couple years or were there some tweaks to it uh there's for sure uh tweaks you know we got to adjust to what we got um our Personnel we got a really good old line uh just the front five are really good so we'll utilize them and then um you know go from there how would you describe it to someone see before they see it for the first time you're going to see what um offensively yeah yeah um you know you're going to see uh kind of like an NFL kind of offense you know um take what they give us and then when they give us the opportunity to take a shot take a shot if it's not there you know check it down um establish the Run game you know just uh do the little things right um execute don't don't get behind the chains and then uh stay ahead how would you describe your your play style uh I like to think of myself like as an electric quarterback um you know just doing whatever it takes to win um win at all cost that's how I was raised um for my mom you know they used to if I won I got gifts and so that's kind of the mentality of you went um last year coach kill set the standard at Mexico State you know winning solves everything and so that's what I I believe to be true and so that's the same formula I'm bringing here when you watch Virginia Tech on film what are the things that their defense does that cause problems for people uh they got Playmakers um up front the front Flor are really good um they got guys coming back so they know the defense they know um they got familiar guys so just going with that trying to uh pick the defense apart when it's my turn you know I do my 11th when I have my one1 to do and then um from there just uh doing my thing and then if nothing's open you know just um work my feet you said when you won you got gifts yeah like what uh I remember when I really wanted a motorcycle when I was around like 9 years old and it was the uh it was the national championship for wrestling um in Tulsa Oklahoma my mom said hey you win I'll get you anything you want I want a dirt bike really bad and so uh ended up winning they got me a dirt bike the next week so it's pretty good yep you feel like you've had a chip on your shoulder throughout your career and and can carry that into vanderville and thec with with the week in week out competition yeah for sure um that's that's who I am that's how I was raised and then coach kill kind of like a uh he was like a father figure to me so he just same thing just keep on it you know um do anything to win and so he he knows how how important it is to win too so me and him being on the same page is is is great how how has his role changed being from your head coach to what he's doing here now um he he's still basically the head coach of the offense so I I still look at him as as my head coach um and so when whenever he he has something to say I I keep it of in you know top importance um him him and Coach Lee but you know coach kill is just someone I look at who gave me an opportunity I'll do anything for him um just because of the opportunity he gave me at New Mexico state and then bringing me here with Coach Beck uh coach Le taking a chance on me you know people don't know like right now people don't know what I can do and it's for me to prove it on Saturday what's the coach kill coach Beck Dynamic like they're two old schoolers you know they uh they they have a certain way of thinking and that's how I was um I grew up in in the southwest and uh they grew up in Kansas so it's uh kind of similar um from the way I I grew up but you know they're hard hat lunch pill and so am I
