good luck cool how different is going through this ball Camp knowing that you are the guy as opposed to last year whenever you're getting in you guys are rotating things like that yeah it's definitely a lot more a lot more confident you know what I mean I think you the stress of going out there and not making mistakes is tough from last year to this year and now not saying that I'm going to go out there make mistakes but there's no fear that if hey you know what if I if I do something wrong here then you know what I mean so I'm not as playing as on as many eggshells as you could say that I was last year so I could play a little bit more free um which has more clarity in the mind which actually ends up making you play better um so that's just a lot more confident a lot more excited what were and if you don't want to get into this don't worry about it but whenever you go into these meetings and they're like hey here's how we're going to do these first Tower Min games it just kind of what was that like for you being the older guy coming in and things along that nature yeah I mean obviously it wasn't it was tough um but I think we handled it the best way that we could kind of figured it out P first couple games and then we went on a run so you've been around championship teams you've been to bowl games been to National Championships and stuff what could with with where this team is right now do you see some of the same uh components and the same qualities yeah absolutely I think we're closer than a couple of the Michigan teams I was on now those guys had four or five first round draft picks not to say that we don't have a couple here um but just the camaraderie the talent the uh knowledge of the game The Experience everybody coming back and every pretty much everybody at every position's played in the Big 12 championship game has been a part of 12 wins 10 win Seasons so it's been pretty special you know what I mean and and and being a part of those teams being part of this team there's a lot of similari so I'm excited to see how it plays out I'm curious for your thoughts on how it's impacted two minute two new two minute warning yeah oh yeah the headset how much of the new rule changes yeah it's fun no yeah I think it's going to give us an extreme Advantage I think if you the teams that use it will definitely get an advantage there's a right way to use it so there's using the headsets with the coaches and little little tidbits of hey alert this or hey alert this hey it's third and two it could be this right and it's going to show at 15 seconds but it's really going to help quarterbacks for sure make better decisions and helping cuz we're going to have an eye in the sky um two minutes is a huge thing because obviously the clock's going to stop um so it gives everybody an extra time out so that's not even just end of game but really end of half getting points at the end of half setting up for the two minut at the right at the right time to be able to get points going at a halftime so it definitely changes the entire game but really it also changes going into halftime more than anything so are you in favor of the new rule for oh yeah yeah it's great oh my gosh yeah it's fantastic and and the and the iPads on the sideline the surfaces are really really cool too um so that's all going to be it's all going to be interesting but we're going to kind of be we've been doing as much as we can and practice but it's really you're only going to get it when you get in the game so we're trying to kind of learn on the Fly and and develop uh see if we can get advantage using them what kind of stands that about South Dakota State on film and what you've seen yeah I mean definitely they're disciplined uh they have a winning culture they win for a reason they don't you don't win 29 games in a row for just because you you're good at football what's up got I have one I got a picture your phone I don't know I I think I still have the flyer I had it hung up I had it on my fridge yeah maybe not sorry what were we saying uh just what stands out about State oh yeah yeah yeah uh no discipline right yeah you don't win 29 games for no reason um they're not going to be in in bad spots they're not going to bust coverage um they're going to be sound um so there's going to be a lot of uh post Snap change that that we're going to have to see and and deal with but but I'm excited for the challenge I've talked all season about taking them seriously you know they've won a lot they've you know been in big games you think last year you know the South Alabama game the way it went did that kind of do anything to kind of take this team more seriously even though they are you know lower level or whatever yeah I mean I I I think we know that they're a good football team from the jump this year last year or whatever you know it doesn't matter I mean these guys are obviously a really good football team that that's coming in here so um we got to be we got to be prepared for them the going back to the helmet stuff it's obviously common place in the NFL but it's new for literally anybody else was it is it weird at all is it times you just want people to shut up when you're talking yeah we've had so coach dun's the only one that could talk in it um he's given me the plays um and then with 15 seconds it cuts off so we definitely had to work out some Kinks or he's yelling for personnel and I can't hear thing he's so you know I mean it's just it's just an anything something something new happens a new technology right we all had iPhones for the first time we know how the hell to work it it's pretty much the same thing so we're trying to figure out new ways and advantages to use it but we've kind of gotten it down where it's hey we'll take the play repeat the play and then if there's any time between 15 seconds said maybe a tidbit or watch Cover 4 here or alert man here and then or hey if it's an RPO run it run it we don't need to pass it or something little little things like that where he's not kind of I also got to do a my on my own you know what I mean so a little it's so it's just a little bit of give and take but it's been fun it's been fun to work on are you able to replicate you know being on the road at Kansas State or being on the road somewhere where it's going to be super loud and you have to like so we still yeah yeah so we'll still signal so if anything happens we'll still be able to see it see play like the receivers will um so that that's kind of kind of helped with that um but yeah we we we practice with speakers you know what I mean so obviously it probably louder in game but the speaker in the in the helmet's pretty loud too so but we'll see we'll probably have to hit this a couple times with you got a couple new receivers as fall what have you thought of Gavin Freeman and IO who we've heard yeah io's yeah a big big frame I I say he's got a bigger frame than maral maral's huge so iow is going to help us a lot on the outside people not that's one there somebody asked who they not know about yeah I know I is going to be he's an electric guy on the outside um strong hands really catchable um just fun receiver to throw too cuz he's big you know what I mean those are always fun to throw to big guys um and then Gavin call him G freaky for a reason he's unbelievably quick probably maybe one of the fastest guys on the team so him being small as well just like BP sometimes it's hard to hit them because they're so small and so fast um but if you get him in stride watch out is gy what
