Coastal Carolina kicked off the season in Jacksonville Alabama with a dub against Jacksonville State and it was the most points scored and a season opener for the shots in program history the shot stepped into Jack State territory at am first Stadium Thursday night it was the start of a new campaign as well as the start of year two at Coastal Carolina for head coach Tim Beck Jacksonville State was looking for some revenge against the Sha after the game Coxs lost 30-6 in Conway last season the biggest question mark going into the game was who would be under Center for Coastal but head coach Tim Beck put his trust in Ethan Basco the veteran QB connects with Trey Taylor for the first touchdown of the night Coastal is up 10 to [Music] three still in the first quarter it's game Cox Ball but not for long will witson with the sack and coastal defense steps up and steps into the end zone witson had six tackles on the night he was just behind Shane Bruce with eight the shots clear's defense also forced three turnovers on the night second quarter in veteran QB Ethan Basco keeps the ball easily slipping past the Jack State Defense he's in the end zone and CCU is up 24-3 there was some teal in the stands to cheer on the shots by the way and while Coastal may have been on the road the the fans got to see them bring it on home one more touchdown for Coastal before heading into the locker room they're up 31-10 the coastal offense continued their dominance in the second half and Noah Kim got his shot at stepping on the turf as a shot to clear the Michigan State transfer sends one to sen mcke Coastal starts the season with a 5527 Victory head coach Tim Beck says the defense performed extremely well tonight but there will be challenges ahead for this team however the shot clear are ready to face them they'll be some obstacles through the course of the Season they're not all going to be like this un certainly um but our guys played well and again it it goes back to the competition the hunger every time somebody gets on the field they want to make a play you know and it's a great mentality coach Neer and the defensive staff has instilled with these guys and uh got some turnovers today got some some big stops and uh they played really well the sh will return to Conway for their home opener next Saturday against William and Mary kickoff is at 7:00 signing off in Jacksonville Alabama tan Brown W mbf Sports
