we decided to bring in a little instant offense you know him you love him Tom Brady legendary quarterback just had his number retired I can't go down there on the field anymore what you you can't play anymore he's joining us here at Fox Sports is I'm sure you have heard as analyst this fall can't wait to see him so far what are your impressions this early going championship game sometimes teams can be a little bit tight it looks like it may be right here they're all a little different you get into these games and there's a lot of Defense out there right now you see defense can go out there and play with a lot of energy but someone's got to get the ball down the field and try to open this field up a little it's a lot of horizontal passes and the defens are swarming and trying to punch the ball out so make them defend every blade of grass that's what we say and and and as a quarterback sometimes you just got to go to your play caller you say hey give me something you know like let me go attack here on this series let's get a play flight going let's get a safety down and try to get this ball down the scene you know Tom he had a bunch of green grass I know he ran on the previous play he probably gets the line to gain there Adrien Martinez if he just takes off he had a lot of space he's been running so well all season long got out of the pocket with the vision there and had a pretty good shot maybe to get those four yards was that a result of taking a big hit on the previous play a I don't know you get out of there from me I don't know I never took many of those big hits out of the pocket maybe a couple kind of speed I never did no I was stuck in the pocket trying to read the coverage wow this is this is what's so fascinating is is someone's got to come out here and just break the ice you know obviously you were involved in so many Super Bowls is is there a moment that you can remember in back in any of those Championship environments where you knew like okay guys we need to make a play here there needs to be a spark that happens here quick there was a couple we played the Panthers in Super Bowl 38 and there wasn't much offense for about the first quarter and a half and then we kind of exploded there and once we got a little rhythm and a feel it's it's always you get these games and there's a little hunting and pecking going on I think once you feel like okay these are the types of ways we want to attack them then you can open up a bit but these are two very good defenses I don't know if you're going to have that type of day today yeah see Tom here's what we got going on with Birmingham this is what I love right now is that they are just sitting there daring San Antonio the football they got their safeties back and they're saying our front four is going to be better than your front five sure so much of the thing I've seen there's so much running sideways right now too and in instances like that where you're saying hey we're going to have a box where there's not as many guys well get the ball downhill get try to get into the defense try to separate the defense a little bit and get them up to those safeties but you're not going to do that running sideline to sideline brings up third down now we got a third down and this is this is the opportunity right and for a quarterback to step up and make a big throw my estimation yeah and you just need some of those first downs you know you get in the Rhythm and you feel like you can complete a few balls in a row and getting the break a sweat out there none of these offenses have really broken a sweat yeah didn't you feel like the first first down in any series that was big now now we're in it okay here we go nice play you'd love to see him come down with that one give his offense a little bit of a spark and those are the things that we talk about just open the field up a little bit and you hit that you gain a lot of confidence instead you're punting you're Fox deut you in the booth wasn't that hard was it pretty good with you guys you guys make it easy three man Booth makes it easy for you we'll get to see you at the end of the game you're going to present the MVP trophy great enjoy the year thanks Jo appreciate it rest rest up for the Trophy presentation thank [Music]
