Football is back: CMU Mavs putting in work

I'm big 11on and it's time to talk sports well folks it won't be long before college football returns and the CMU Mavs are putting in that work the fresh air of football is back here at Colorado May says fall Camp has begun for the Mavericks and these guys are putting in the work the next few weeks getting ready for a very important season year three under head coach miles coach AAR it's always a blessing to be able to get back with my teammates uh it's always a good feeling to get back on the field playing football the sport we all love so I'm appreciative I'm very thankful first two days we say we're in our underwear out here running around two days of helmets Monday and Tuesday then the opportunity to get out and you get some more contact you get to see some actual football you know you know so to be able to get the pads and actually make it football again makes it fun and of course just like four hours away in Broncos Country the T of the town at Mesa is the quarterback position and we've got a four person battle to be that day one starter the top four guys lesie the Leu to uh Cole Hansen Brock berer who will come back and lead the group this afternoon um all four of those guys got different talents all all four of those guys are very capable so I think you know we've got to do a great job of being able to figure out which guy can put us where we need to be and um help us win games all of us we show up every day we give our full effort everyone's going to give 100% their effort every day we all come out and compete that's what we are with quarterbacks but it appears that we've got two two leaders in the clubhouse the most experienced of the group Leslie Richardson who threw for 400 yards and two touchdowns in five games last year and Leu am a transfer from division 1 San Diego State this is this is probably one of the best quarterback rooms I've been a part of in my college career um we're competing but we all know that you know at the end of the day there's only one quarterback a lot of the young guys are pushing me I'm I'm the oldest guy in the room right now but uh you know we got a good group uh we all love each other though it's all love at the end of the day but we all know we got to come in here and show the coaches every day what we what we can offer to the team Liu since he got here he's been a good teammate as much as everybody wants us to hate each other you know we're good friends he actually helped me uh step my game up you know and I help him step his game up he pushes me to be the best I push him to be the best but don't forget about the running backs even though talented freshman back and former Delta Panther Talon huet is making the move to safety there's still a lot to be excited about in the back field I think a position group I'm most excited to see is our uh our running backs we got a lot of good running backs I think we have a lot of diversity between speed and power and I think what we're trying to do is be a very physical football team and it's going to start with our o line and it's going to finish with our running backs I think our running game is going to be our best part of our offense this year not that our passing game is going to be bad but I just think we're going to lean on our running backs to you know get us three four yards AP pop and I know we're going to be successful at doing that so I'm excited to see all my running backs tote that thing this year man boy it will not be long before we get to see those backs in action game one in Kingsville Texas is just 22 days away it's been it's been been a long process but we're getting here season's almost here man so we're just ready to go out there and play some mad football Man play some M football how exciting is that we are all so close to seeing it happen but that's all my time for sports I'm bigw levenson
