this video shows or explains the meaning of these blue dots or the black dots under these app icons in dock so you can see that right now it is showing blue dots sorry black dots under this finder and then QuickTime Player then this Chrome you can see those dot black dots and also under the iTunes the reason why these dots are displayed is that all these applications are running right now in Mac for example this one is running the in iTunes is running so and that's the reason why these dots are displayed if you want to get rid of those dots what you can do is you can query that application for example adriaen c is running right now and if I quit that what will happen is that dot will be removed you can see that dot is anymore that means this application is not running so basically these are the application indicators it simply means that that specific application is been has been running right now in your Mac and there is one sitting that that can help you to show or hide those dots further you have to go to the System Preferences in your Mac and then go to dock or there you will find when the setting coded as show indicator is for open applications down here right now it is stick that means those dots will be displayed if you don't know how to see those dots you can just click on this one and you can see that right now you can't see like which applications are running so I would recommend that you keep this setting it's turned on so that it will help you understand or know like what applications are running right now in your Mac system thanks for watching this video
