a lot of close calls for Arkansas in 2023 a lot of games that just didn't go their way will it be the same story in 2024 or they find a way to win those games turn things around we shall see before I get into my game by- game predictions first just some thoughts on this team uh I don't think they're as far away as as maybe some people think and I think you can go back again and look at some of those close games last year uh look at the LSU game look at the Alabama game look at the Miss game I mean they were close in a lot of these games um you look at the the roster first of all we start with the coaching staff I think s pitman's a good coach I think he's a really solid head coach but bringing in Bobby patrino to call the offense I think that is a huge move and I think it's going to really benefit them the question is going to be about the pass game though with ton green stepping in at quarterback coming in for Boise state has it been great throwing the football a really good runner but um can they develop him as a passer a wide receiver position they'll need some help there I love the tight ends that's going to be a strength but U that's going to be the big question I think the Run game will be solid the offensive line will be solid it won't be great but it it'll be decent and then on defense I love the defensive line Landon Jackson one of the best defensive in pass rushers that we've got in all of college football secondary looks to be pretty strong linebacker position might be a little bit of a question mark so those are my thoughts Vegas they've got the over under at five and a half so they're not too low on this team despite a very difficult schedule you've got Oklahoma State in the non-conference you've got Auburn on the road Texas A&M Tennessee LSU Mississippi state's on the road Old Miss Texas Missouri's on the road yeah this is a really tough schedule but I think they do start off with a win I think they beat Arkansas Pine Bluff start off 1 and0 next week is on the road at Oklahoma State you know talent-wise I don't think there's a huge gap in these two teams it just feels like the experience and what they've got coming back at Oklahoma State this could be a really special team and also you add in the fact that you're playing this game on the road I it's going to make it very very tough for Arkansas I think they compete but it's not going to be enough go give me the Cowboys this one and watch out for UAB UAB a a pretty good team at the group of five level this is one you cannot sleep on it's in between two Road games don't be shocked if Arkansas slips up and loses this game but I'm going to predict a win I think it'll be close but I think they do win this game then you've got Auburn on the 21st you look at the blowout last year and think yeah Arkansas has no chance but I think because of that there is a real revenge Factor here and I think they come in really really motivated I don't think it's going to be enough but I think they'll be more competitive this year even though this game is on the road but I got to go with auburn here probably wind up winning by a couple of touchdowns but again I think it's going to be closer and that puts them at two and two they play Texas A&M next uh this game in Arlington game has been close I know Arkansas hasn't really been able to get over the hump much in this game maybe just I think just one win in this series but they've had so many close calls so many close games especially when they were the underdog uh I think they they get the win here I'm going to go with Arkansas I think they breakthrough I I just feel like some of those bounces that didn't go their way last year are going to go their way this year that's usually the way it works and I think they'll get a couple of big wins I think Texas ADM going to be one of those big wins don't really see Tennessee though I think they lose this game um after a big win maybe a little bit of a let down uh you get get this tough tough offense uh in Tennessee going to be tough to stop uh I think that offense going to be too much I'm going to go with the volunteers then LSU next this game closed a lot when you look at this series even last year it was close and so you feel like Arkansas can can hang around in this game but I think some improvements on defense for for LSU and an offensive line that I think is going to be able to handle uh this defensive line for Arkansas LSU wins but again I think it's going to be close I think it's a close one uh Mississippi state is next on the road this is one that I really went back and forth on uh if I look at the two teams I think Arkansas is clearly better I don't think Mississippi state's going to be very good this year uh I think other than Vanderbilt they're the worst team in the SEC or they will be just not a lot to get excited about on this team Blake shapen comes in at quarterback but really doesn't have much around him they lost a lot on defense uh I I knew coaching staff I still though was was going to pick Mississippi State just because it's on the road just because you know that's the way college football goes but at the end of the day I just think Arkansas there's too much of a gap there I think they're clearly better I think they will win over Mississippi State the next week is against Old Miss you're playing this game at home um we talked about this one on the Old Miss video talked about some of the reasons why I think this could be an upset um you look at this series it's it's always close it seems like even when ol Miss is the better team and I think Arkansas uh gets ol miss here I think they pull off a huge huge upset I just feel like Miss is going to have a let down and we go with Arkansas to pull off one of the biggest upsets of the season but then they turn around and play Texas the next week actually they get a byee before playing Texas uh this is going to be a tough one Texas is going to be really really good and I think Texas you know I know it's a different team when they played Arkansas from when they played Arkansas before but um it's still you look at that score and and some motivation for these Texas players I think Texas plays really well here I'm going to go with the Longhorns I do think Arkansas beats Louisiana Tech though and that gets them to a bowl game gets them to six and five they close things out with Missouri on the road uh going to be a tough one they usually compete pretty well in this game uh but missoui is playing really really good football in the last or last year going into this year and that offense is going to be very very tough to stop um I I think Arkansas hangs around in this game but uh give me Missouri to pull away late um so that's it I got six and six for Arkansas I think this team can get to a bowl game uh you look at this the rest of the schedule though how many how many losses did I give them that you could see being wins I mean there really aren't any maybe they upset Oklahoma State or Auburn on the road Road that's going to be tough uh maybe they upset Tennessee so I think five- Seven's definitely more likely than seven and five and getting to six and six might be the best case scenario for Arkansas but I think they get it done I think the addition of Bobby trino going to be big the offense will improve especially as the season
