Louisiana Gov. MANDATES LSU Athletes Honor National Anthem or LOSE Scholarships?!

time honestly I don't even know when the anthem was played we kind of have a routine where we are on the floor and then they come off at the 12 minute Mark that's um we just I don't know we come in I'm sorry and I'm going to be honest with y'all too with this this whole thing of my man driving on my home girls first of all we go to the bar we're not leaving we don't get pissy drunk we're not drunk to the point where oh we don't know what to do she didn't have a ride we didn't plan this out beforehand she's walking down now my man got to take everybody home like we're children right we're their scholarships y'all let me know what y'all think about this a little more in context the governor came came out um amidst a recent game at LSU and the coach um was Under Fire after they were in the locker room during the anthem so he's now requiring it or he's trying to push this as a mandate so what do y'all think if I'm missing any details feel free to fill in um but what do y'all think about this topic it is popn y got I think this is a Republican state and they going to try that type of [ __ ] and um if if somebody don't say well wait a minute these ships might come from private Source I think the scholarships that come from private sources uh won't be [ __ ] with but anything that actually comes directly through the state he's going to overstep his boundaries and actually agree to when they signed the agreement to their scholarship a lot of scholar leaderships have these certain stipulations like they might have a GPA requirement they may say you can't even get a c in this certain class if it has all these requirements and that's listed as one of the requirements then hell yeah you have to do it I mean you agree to that when you got the scholarship if that's one of the things that they're required in order for students to keep them if you have to have a certain amount of credit hours if you have to have a certain amount of this that third you got to have a certain amount of this down on the third if you want to have that scholarship because you already agreed to it on per the contract that you signed all not not to cut you off but in Louisiana uh if if people actually paid attention to the games uh LSU team has always not been out there for the anthem like this haven't been going on just now this [ __ ] been going on for years like if they don't make it back out there for the anthem they don't make it back out there for the an it is what it is but the thing is now they want to make a big deal of it this new governor want to make a big deal of it because he want to run every [ __ ] thing but n you this the same Governor that want 18 starting July July 4th he want 18 year olds to be able to walk around with pistols on them concealed make it make sense nothing wrong with that how does the ntion wanty old you want a scholarship that's thing you want a 18year old walking around with a gun around you but then you worried about somebody being out there for a [ __ ] national anthem come on make something that's in their agreement when you get a scholarship you're agreeing if you get the scholarship and you accept the scholarship per the rules that are outlined right rules that are outlined is to say exactly and it's a lot of money and one of the rules is you have to go to the national anthem if that's the case I don't know what they signed to if that's the case and they agreed and signed on to it then that's just because they never no no no just because we don't know that because just just because just because they may not have addressed it because maybe I I agree that this Governor or whoever this is is being petty I agree he's being petty but if it is is listed in one of the stipulations even if they never addressed it before and they holding on it now I mean you can't really say nothing if it's written there and you accept it that's my only thing but I do believe he's being petty but hell yeah if it already says it and you agreed if it says it then I mean you have your feelings about it but they're giving you free money to go play they're giving you money to um and this is It's a publicly it's a public school it's a public university if I'm not okay was it a get paid to go to the school you're getting paid however many thousand of dollars cuz I'm sure it's a I'm sure it's a big scholarship cuz I hear of an athletic scholarship have you ever had an athletic scholarship it's a state it's playing dog ain't that a State University so that ain't private you know what I'm saying that's gonna be public through the state right and the state made Allegiance with these [ __ ] Federal ass [ __ ] so I can see why you know them not actually saying that pledge would be a issue to them but if it's not written in that scholarship of Grant dog like they can't take that [ __ ] away from them so it's a grant that means I'm giving it to you and there are certain there are certain grants you certain covenants you have to meet in order that like he said it is federal money certainly a state but that money is given from the federal government like I said Covenant certain covenants that you have to adhere to now now if they tell you even if it ain't in that contract you still going to that school and that school does things a certain way so it's like you still have your school rules right you still going to this school so it ain't your rules you're not so that got to be in the code of conduct of American public land grant n got code of conduct in that school that is yeah but the athletic scholarships come from the conference and the revenue that they generate right and the revenue that they generate if I got to talk to my team extra and miss that Anthem so the [ __ ] what I don't give a [ __ ] bet money on this game and we lost cuz she got out coached or whatever [ __ ] that Governor can I go now they're talking about putting the poliy this is so this is actually um there's actually a root to this if you go look at the telegram I put an article um in the telegram and it's about something called bardism there was a governor back in the day named vardaman who got a 10-year-old locked up for not saluting the flag well supported a 10-year-old getting um time for not Sol in the flag I believe the 10-year-old got nine or 10 years um because he would not salute the flag and I'll quote that young man Hubert who said I won't salute the flag until the flag salutes me his actual words and he said did not come from his parents are that this country wants to create a white man and that's a white man's flag and I don't support the white man he also said I see how the white man do the American Soldier he comes home from war and he is hung in his uniform so until that flag supports the black men and women who fight in our army to defend us I will not salute that flag from there this man named gamman went on an allout Crusade hinged his entire electorial campaign on literally criminalizing a 10-year-old if you support this LSU decision you are literally the Perpetual continuation of bman and I'm landed these are pwi and just put it right there so my daughter is in Universe at uh Sacramento State University she want to go to a HBCU I'm in the middle of I don't want her to go because the university she at right now is good for her uh her studies with is psychology and you know for her want to go to HBCU just because quote unquote black I just I wish he would have started off there and then but you know now she feels you know she want to be in a more black school environment but this world that we live in isn't just black and the businesses that you running isn't going to just be just you surrounded with just black people so I I've always wanted my kids to be around diverse of of uh uh people because that's the way we have to live on this Earth uh you can't be secluded in the corner of the earth talking about I'm black I only deal with black people that's not how you work in this life so at the end of the day well I mean if it's a good psychology uh uh school you know then I I'll be with it but I don't want to just go because of black that's what I was about to tell you I was about to say first you focus on the first you focus on the major right that's the most important and I'll just you know I'll read this really quick L I'll just read the top four you know Psychology programs from HBCU you know the top HBC Psychology programs we have Howard at number one you know we got Florida Agriculture and Mechanical University shout out to fam youu is number two you got Spellman then you have buoy State and then it continues so they have they have great Psychology programs HBCU but because you said that I think that's what makes it important to go if you can if it's if it suits your major because like you said this is the last opportunity in your lifetime let's just keep it a buck this is the last opportunity in your lifetime as a black person if you care about that that you're going to be surrounded by people like you Professionals in every space that look like you I mean I'm come across black dentists black doctors black pharmacists black Engineers I mean and your networking ability so now you're not not only that you're leaving with a network of black professionals who could also put you on to other black professionals you are being mentored by black professionals and I don't see anything wrong with that no one's saying that in the real world you're going to only be around black people but if you have a strong network of black people in a bunch of fields now you have if you have children especially now you now you know a black pediatrition to go to right now you have a black nurse that's a friend of yours you know a black engineer you know a black architect you know a black nurse that mean I mean black musicians it's like the whole nine and I don't see anything wrong with that I don't see anything wrong with people helping each other and putting people on to other jobs they even have Career Fairs and white people if they are hiring or whatever will come to the schools as well and say hey we're looking for these type of students right and then you get offered certain scholarships you only HBCU offer certain scholarships to black students and so hey and it's most of the time it's cheaper as well so hey man I'm not mad look HBCU are just as good I don't think in 2024 at least the name of the college that you go to even matters I think they more about your experience in the hours that you're getting and HBCU are very in my experience the one I went to not all of the same I believe that they were very helpful to the students and and finding a group and helping them get it together and leave together and now they have you know they have a network of black people that they know what relying on and I think that's I I agree with you but I this not a white black thing it's a educational thing with me and this and I don't want her to just go to HBCU because she want be surrounded with black people I want her to go to HBCU so she can get her her major uh accomplished and if that is within a black uh college or or or diverse college that is my end goal because I'm not paying all this goddamn money for for her to just sit here and say I want to go to a black school just because I'm want to be black p is really diverse diverse the question is are there really any schools that are actually diverse or are there just pwis and hbcus and you either get majority white school or a majority black school I think that's where we're at at this point well there there's black people that that go to her school right now people that go there but they probably have a black student union for the students to try to have to try to go together and the HBCU you don't even need no damn blend black student union [ __ ] and the people from the B nikk Nikki this that's why I said her major comes first that's why I said look up the degree programs and I that's why there's a list of programs that are the top um Psychology programs and ask her if they give you know what they offer that's the most important but the HBCU side is important too so you know I'm just saying you know I'm just adding my littleit I'm a little you know still this is the world we live in you need to be diverse Caleb look at Oakwood University um it's a HBCU but it's also Multicultural um but it's um know I think it'll be good balance I can hear I'm not I mean I'm not going to disagree with her if she want to go like I'm not going to say no you know but I did want I did have a talk with her to you know listen that's what you want to do you know but you have to make sure that your major is is first and whatever School you decide to go to make sure that your major is is uh high priority when it comes to that because you're going to what you're going to be at a black school for two more years she's already 2 years in the University now so what you going to be black for 2 years and then after that you going back into the real world like your college friends are your Forever Friends I don't care the friends you made college or people you have once you leave to the rest of your life yeah like like I make more money off of my network than my skill I'm saying I a go to college I went to trade school but the network I built like I could call I got [ __ ] right now that I got a group of [ __ ] that just went to Antarctica they want to go with them like so like my network going psychology we're strictly talking about University and the has to be able to provide the amount of hours the access to internships cuz you need experience as well as access to a network which is very important too I think that's important 175 brought up is that your network is is damn near almost more important than sometimes the skills that you actually attain so you need to be networking joining organizations finding a mentor to keep you going I think y'all should read the room with Caleb he's really W to hear about his daughter and think he I don't think he's want to hear about too much of degree most apprenti ships is a two-year degree they are equivalent you can also get a bachelor level agre degree yes there are people who lead trade school with a bachelor level trade there are people who leave as a master Tradesman some people leave as a doctor level Tradesmen and so guess what Journeymen and whatnot they are the ones that actually employ others so yes there is a two a four a six and an 8year degree in trade school they just do more handson work because a classroom setting cannot provide them the skills needed to do certain things I.E electricians they must actually learn how to operate electricity so the more of their uh classwork will be lab which you would consider a lab work class instead of a physical Le class the only to this dumb [ __ ] I'm 33 years old a't this [ __ ] said he was and then this the nigg we supposed to have shut your dumb ass for the psychology the curriculum you do need lectures lectures literally can't just go get a trade they don't get bachel or associat that's a lie they get certificates or oh my God so I literally I mean that rud as hell uh so yes there are various things there are things you cannot do simply in a lab doctors spend a lot of their time doing what residencies they actually have the longest educational process because they spend so many years in classroom and then so many years in trade school why because you can't just learn it all in the classroom you actually have to have practice on he may not be the only [ __ ] in the room thinking like thatum ass BR stupid ass da conversation in University you said you didn't go to no University you went to a trade school [ __ ] that's two different things so don't compare that [ __ ] University you just the same but I think he brought it up to bring up the that means they can't say [ __ ] about anything that that you know what's going on right but unfortunately I'm going keep reading this is the part where I'm like damn it really just up to him so private University's ability to restrict or compel students is enhanced because unlike a public university it's not a quote unquote State actor or armor of the government that must adhere to constitutional requirements but right if a governor signs a bill into law governing the conduct of students at both public and private schools then a student at a public private school can't change it so if they and if the schoolar lar Dre suggestion I'll keep reading about his suggestion it coincides with the they're saying that it coincides with the Louisiana legislator considering a bill that would enhance his authority over a higher education governing board my only issue is if he has this ability if he has the ability to sign a bill into law saying this is how students or whatever at a public school whatever this is what they must do which which is a fair argument people was fair to make an argument against and he that's allowed to be passed and the school makes that a requirement because I think if I'm not mistaken I'm not sure if every scholarship is like this but I know um for mine mine was for music and even if you do have a four year you had to get you had to like resign for your scholarship every year every semester it was one of those two things you have to re um either reapply or do something where they basic have to check your GPA if you've been beating the requirements before they offer you the other pieces of your scholarship or something like that I don't know if anybody else has that situation and if that's the case and they make one of the rules you know that y'all have to stand up for the Pledge of Allegiance and then you sign and agree to that scholarship in that next semester next year that at that point I don't know if you could say anything only asking cuz I don't know how it works when it com to scholarships but can you actually say well I can't meet those requirements because of my religious but then still qualify for the scholar
