Donald Trump recently expressed dissatisfaction with Russian President Vladimir Putin's sarcastic endorsement of Vice President Kamala Harris which left Trump puzzled during a rally in Wisconsin the former president recounted his history with Putin sharing that the endorsement seemed odd given their previous interactions Trump questioned whether Putin's remarks which praised Harris's laugh were sincere or mocking reflecting on the ambiguous tone of the comments I knew Putin I knew him well and you know he endorsed I don't know if you saw the other day he endorsed Camala he endorsed Kamala I was very uh offended by that I wonder why he endorsed Camala now he's a chess player I endorse Camala should I be Congressman should I be uh upset about that no huh was it done with a smile Ron was it done with a smile I think it was done maybe with a smile I don't know who the hell knows nobody's going to figure it out they're about 19 steps ahead of us that this whole Russia thing nobody was tougher on Russia in history than Trump and the person that knows that better than anyone is President Vladimir Putin he knows it better than anyone and I'll tell you what I will have that war finished and done and settled before I get to the White House as president-elect I will get that done Trump openly admitted that he felt both confused and offended by Putin's statement wondering whether the endorsement was a sign of support or a subtle insult he even joked about whether he should thank Putin for the unexpected approval or feel slighted by it despite his personal frustration Trump reiterated his strong stance against Russia claiming that his presidency was the toughest on the Kremlin in recent history Putin's comments came at the Eastern economic Forum where he made light of Harris's laugh calling it infectious and implying that all was well for the vice president although intended as a playful remark Trump found little humor in it and responded seriously in the days following Trump brushed aside concerns about possible Russian interference in the upcoming US elections he dismissed renewed investigations into foreign influence calling it a rehash of old accusations from his previous campaigns Trump also made a bold claim vowing that if he were reelected he could resolve the Russia Ukraine conflict quickly though without elaborating on his strategy
