Morgan Rogers is quickly becoming a class midfielder | Aston Villa 0-2 Arsenal

I actually thought the there were plenty of positives in this performance from Villa I thought the the likes of Morgan Rogers who obviously mares has given lots of prise over the last few weeks brilant he's starting to announce himself and I think he's got he's just got that little bit of arrogance I think really that you you've got to have I think as a younger player um and to be able to sort of announce yourself on this kind of stage and I I you know I love a lot of about him I I just think he's got that kind of physicality about him I think for such quite a big guy he's quite Nimble and he's got that sort of change of real quick change of Direction which we saw like that real um burs in run where he skipped by about three Arsenal players through the Midfield but yeah it's just come down to those two opportunities hasn't it really where yeah you can kind of B it down to that can't you you really would fancy him to put one of them away um I think the first one it hits his ankle doesn't it it's one of those where he he just sort of drags it almost and it Clips his ankle and just dribbles wide but the second one it's a great reaction save but he got to he's got to score that he's got to go he's got to go in the corners hasn't he but he heads it heads it almost directly down the middle think assuming R won't get back up but he did pretty quickly I think it's the only place you can head the ball in that goal which actually gives the goal goal keeper half a chance um because it's within it's within his reach even though it's such a great you know reaction save but it was on the floor when contact was made I think that's the thing where think ground if heads it into the ground it's probably go heads it slight you know even a couple of inches to the goalkeeper left it's it's in it's a certainty and that that probably tips the momentum in in Villa's favor as we've you know we've seen um at Villa Park over the last few years they've been really strong there know really frustrates me is when the camera cuts to Lee carsley the interim England manager watching in the stands to get his reaction to Watkins missing again I hate it when they do that because yeah Carley's in the in the stands but I don't think he's going to think any less of Watkins Watkins has got absolutely nothing to prove so I don't think we can get two on his case like you said but what Lee carsley will have seen like you said Dave was Morgan Rogers who had a game of his life probably his best game in a villa shirt so far I mean Miles said in our season preview that he was definitely one that he can see being given a chance for his national team might be coming sooner than later he touched on a few of his kind of um highlights of his performance he just carries the ball so well in Midfield doesn't he and I don't know of a player who's made the step up the championship to Premier League as comfortably and as quickly as he has and I thought his finish to the end of last season might have been just a momentum thing like a a bit of a flash in the pan and that was his level kind of inflated by the you know the bounce of becoming a premier league player but he looks right at home at this level does isn't he yeah definitely so I think he's a really interesting one to be honest because it will be fascinating to see what kind of player he turns into because I think he can offer more go a lot more goals I think he's shown especially um you know in in the last couple of Seasons he can get into those positions and and finish so it wouldn't surprise me for him to see him scor turn into more of a goal scorer um but I think it's important just not put too much pressure on him absolutely yeah let's not forget you know how how young he is as a player um if he gets that opportunity at International level superb but England are absolutely blessed in those attacking areas um so you know he's going to he's going to have to really perform this season I think to be in contention that's for sure
