I don't know about you but when someone says the queen I don't really think about Camila who is of course the queen of this country alongside the King Charles her husband when people say the queen I still think about Queen Elizabeth II and of course she was the queen for such a long time had such an iconic Reign and now there's going to be a new sculpture of her uh that's going to happen in a couple of years time to Mark what would have been her centinary year and that's a committee headed up by her former private secretary has been working on it it's going to be in St james' Park in the center of London near uh Buckingham Palace is a beautiful Park I used to work beside it actually when I worked in government it's famous of course for hosting a number of Royal ceremonies carnations and jubilees trooping the color changing the guard the park is also the host to some of the most revered Royal and Military memorials in the country let's get more on this from rert Bell who's Talk's Royal correspondent I I think from everything I've read anyway this will be a fitting Memorial to an amazing woman absolutely and as you say will be unveiled in the hundreds when she would have been 100 in 2026 and yes it I mean obviously there are always land memorials around London through history and the queen it would be very remiss if we didn't actually honor our longest serving Monarch and so it is something quite that obviously happening you can drive around London you see the Queen Mother Gates Don't you so even she was honored I'm not sure they're the most wonderful way of remembering here I I've never quite liked those but I hope hopefully whatever the sculpture they come uh is and I think we might get details of it over the weekend will be a excuse me a fitting Memorial to her and a way that we can remember her contribution to this country which sadly came to an end a couple of years back but uh she did leave a lasting contribution to this country most of us until the king ascended to the throne had no memory of anyone else being our Monarch and so it is only right and proper that there is a memorial to her um what do we what do we know rert about this what do we know about the the kind of Memorial it's going to be we know where it's going to be we know Robin johnin who was the late Queen's former private secretary was the chairman of this um he said last year it's an honor to be asked to chair the Queen Elizabeth Memorial committee it will be a huge it will be a unique challenge to try to capture for future Generations her late maistri extraordinary contribution to our national life throughout her very long re and uh I mean presumably there'll be uh designs being looked at have we seen what this will look like or can we do we have any information on that just at the moment I I haven't personally seen it I'm sure there are plenty of people being exercised to make sure it won't be an easy decision and bearing in mind it just won't be there will obviously be Consulting with the king um to see and other members of the family to see what they think think about the memorial that will be erected for uh in the king's case his mother so there will be a lot of people working on it I suppose ultimately the person who will give the final say so will be the king because um but that will be obviously be something that is going on at the moment we may get they may have already made the decision uh I assume they have if they're talking about releasing more details over the weekend and rert homelessness is a big issue that uh Prince William the Prince of Wales has campaigned on for some time and he was opening or or attending a an exhibition on this homelessness reframed at the Sachi Gallery in West London groundbreaking exhibition apparently which brings to life the breadth and complexities of homelessness and included sculptures photographs and everyday object given a new life by artists who may have slept R rough and this is Williams hom word's project uh but actually it was not just his attendance there that has been worthy of note but not to trivialize this but his FAL hair well yes we saw examples of it earlier during the summer it was seen off but it's now come back yes it's rather sad that there seems to be more gossip on whether the fact he's got a bit of designer stubble going on um so um but obviously it's a look that he feels happy with it's probably I assume it's been given the Royal seal of approval but um he's fully entitled to do it it's isn't it d r g now Peter um to have a a bit I I I still shave every day it must be said uh uh rer what about you do do you do you shave every day I do and I use the oldfashioned way get the old shaving brush out and the old way no I I'm not I'm not one who's who's Fallen victim to this but um but and in obviously in the prince of wales's case it is creating a bit of a a stir I hope it's not distracting from the seriousness yes of what trying to achieve with the Homeland his work in trying to help homelessness we also heard details the fact that Gail Porter has been involved in some of the projects that he's been working with so it is uh but it's also good to see the week that his children go back to school that he's back out and about yeah uh carrying on with his work and I think that's the significant part of this school had holidays over and done with and now he can get on back out on the road again and start fulfilling some of the duties that I know he would like to to do rert I I've no I'm not surprised in the in the slatus that you uh share the oldfashioned way but all I want to say about you being our Royal correspondent is that you're very much the best a man can get uh so thank you to River pal there he is our Royal correspondent
