Right now, Gary Ridgeway also known as the Green River killer is in the King County jail. He's been transferred from the Washington State penitentiary in Walla Walla. A move that has a lot of people wondering why Ridgeway is currently serving 49 life sentences for murders he committed starting in 1982. Ridgeway was booked into the jail yesterday morning on an institutional hold which generally means the county is holding him for the state. Right now, the King County Sheriff's office isn't answering many questions about what he is doing there. Law enforcement analysts say there could be unsolved crimes that Ridgeway is connected to. He has said that he's, he's committed 71. I don't think he knows. I don't think that's a good number necessarily. We are convinced that in King County alone, he's good for 55 homicides. Court records are sealed and investigators will only say that the sheriff's office continues to actively investigate potentially related cases.
