Suarez Hudson County prosecutor WGP bacillus inspector Goldberg from Union City Mayor Brian sacrum Union City sorry lieutenant micro there's some right behind me as well I just want to fill you in on what I can share with you there's a lot of information we can't share with you just yet simply because as you can see the investigation is ongoing at 12:56 the first call came in that there was a multi-vehicle accident involving a DPW truck I'm happy to report and I need to stress this there are no fatalities and I have said this over and over and I just want it all to understand there are no fatalities the injured have been taking to three area hospitals in total I believe we have 12 injured we have seven patients at the Jersey City Medical Center one patient is at Palisades murmur of Meridian health and we've got more patients in hackin success in Hoboken University Medical Center everyone is in stable condition there is no one in critical condition either there are a number of law enforcement agencies that have responded first and foremost Union City Police Department Port Authority North Bergen Police Department the Hudson County Sheriff's Office and the Hudson County Prosecutor's Office regional fatal collision unit we have not yet determined the cause of the crash that is what is under investigation and if you ask me any questions with respect to the crash itself I'm not going to be able to answer them not because I don't want to simply because everything is under investigation just yet I don't think I have any further information does anyone have any questions that I can answer how is the stable condition everyone is in stable condition the DPW I don't know that for certain we don't know yeah that's what we need to ascertain okay there were four vehicles here plus the DPW truck down below there was a bus involved and a motor vehicle was involved so in total five vehicles one bus DPW truck remember to specifically talk about the one with a steel rod or wooden rod have the windshield have to be able to sorry well fortunately and as I said I'm happy to report that this could have been so much worse and it wasn't so I'm happy to report that the timing of it being one o'clock on a holiday weekend essentially is so much better than it being about five o'clock on a holiday weekend so in many ways we were lucky we are lucky and the fact that I'm here telling you that of all the people injured they're all in stable condition I'm going to consider that a grace I have no idea particular tribes we know what no we don't have any of that yeah it's way too early it just realized this only happened a few hours ago and that's all information will gather seatbelts is a question I can't address yet either all right folks thank you so much thanks for your time and thanks for waiting out here I know you're in a while thank you I have an idea when this will be an important 30 addressed havoc please the Port Authority Police Department is working collaboratively with all of our mutual aid partners unicity Weehawken North Bergen and the traffic was impacted under 495 because obviously the truck fell down onto a rota that we managed the Port Authority police responded along with the accident investigators from the County Prosecutor's Office and our people we've done everything possible to try to clean the accident as soon as possible there have been plans put in place in the Port Authority Bus Terminal to make sure that the passengers the bus terminal have alternate routes of transportation they've been diverging plans put into place and right now there are buses coming through the center troop of the Lincoln Tunnel and being diverted out the city streets detoured to get out to route 3 west of New Jersey Turnpike so on and so forth so we're working diligently with our partners to make sure we keep the region moving but as you can see it's a big accident it takes time to investigate and we're doing everything possible to work with our partners where the accident originated to make sure that we open up the roadway and make sure that everybody is safe but right now the biggest thing is to make sure the roadway is safe that the bridge is intact New Jersey VLG is in place to make sure that that's in fact the case and as soon as we can get the accident cleaned up and open the water but I will working diligently to make that happen but we have to make sure that safety is a lot more support Tommy I'm Miss Amelia Gonzalez I'm the chief of operations for the Port Authority police if somebody's at the Port Authority bus - right now this if somebody's at the Port Authority Bus Terminal listening to this know that we're doing the best that we can to clear up the roadway make sure that the roller gets open in a timely fashion and make sure that you're able to get home as safe and as quickly as possible he's just asking me to repeat everything I just said which is no problem just let me get it up all right ready okay no worries no worries Hudson County prosecutor Esther Suarez the initial call came in at 12:56 the initial call reported that there was a multi-vehicle accident involving a DPW truck from Union City I'm happy to report that there are no fatalities everyone that was involved in the accident was taken to area hospitals we've got seven people in Jersey City Medical Center we've got one patient in Palisades Meridian health and we've got four patients at Hoboken University Medical Center everybody I think I said this there were no fatalities I'm happy to report that there everybody's in stable condition and the law enforcement agencies that responded were Port Authority Union City Police Department North Bergen Police Department Hudson County Sheriff's Office and the Hudson County Prosecutor's Office regional fatal collision unit the cause of the crash it's still very very early we're still investigating we won't have that information there are a lot of questions that came up that go to the cause of the crash I just can't get to it for now we're gonna have to finish our investigation it's only been a few hours since then all right thank you as soon as possible that's that's what we have been reporting as soon as we're able to we got to make sure that the overpass is safe and it's stable and then we will open it we understand that there I think I've told thousands of people wait I don't I don't believe there's going to be another professor but any addition will come out through the office thank you
