so obviously everyone's been arguing about who won the debate on Tuesday but instead of doing a poll to see who technically won I wanted to see if our company sentiment analysis program could get us an estimate in seconds to do this I basically had it scan the r conservative and R Democrat subreddits to see how each party viewed their candidates performance that night so for example in the r Democrat subreddit I made sure it only looked at comments about kamala's performance and filtered out any that were just bashing on Trump I ended up finding that 93% of commenters in the Democrat subreddit felt like Kamala did well while only 69% of commenters in the conservative subreddit felt like Trump did well our program also specifically found that conservative commenters thought that Trump spent too much time being bed up about his crowd sizes while Democrat leaning commenters wish Harris talked more about policy obviously this is all just data from Reddit so it may or may not be generalizable to the total population but still thought it was worth sharing
