Louisiana Lafayette R and cun and the Army black knights we hope you're ready for an action-packed game of NCAA football and here come the Black Knights if you compare these teams on paper they really look to be pretty equal der what do you think Army knows all too well about Playmakers as they have one of their own at the running back position this guy's got way too much talent to be contained Lee I think he'll lead them to a close Victory I guess I should let you in on my pick then raging cajes in this one and they're ready to kick this one away number two back deep to return kicks it off number 80 Fields it at the 17 he lost the ball and they fall on the loose ball [Applause] for those of you tuning in you get to see a great example of how the quarterback position is played this guy is a very special player and that's definitely the right term for Him special player he has all the intangibles I'm excited I really been looking forward to seeing him play not many quarterbacks mean as much to their team as this guy [Applause] does second and three coming up ball on the 39 the 39 yd line they line up in an eye there's a play fake he's going right got it to his receiver I like the defense that was called they just didn't make the play on the ball you're right it wasn't necessarily bad defense the offense just executed and the result was a first down first and 10 ball in the 43 the rag and cun come out showing three wide steps up in the pocket fires deep down the right side he had to get rid of that one in a hurry a defense coordinator cooked up a good Blitz package that time and although it didn't result in the sack it forced a bad throw it's second down and 10 to go ball on the 43 yd line nickel defense he drops back looking with the throw and it's caught and he's tackled and they pick up nine there reception n yd gain on the [Applause] play third third down and a yard and this is the fifth play of the current Drive they're crowding the line play action throws looking play wasn't it coach oh yeah this offensive coordinator must have seen something in the defense he really liked it's first and 10 this is a seventh play of this drive the Raging Cent line up with three wide he's going left number 20 with the interception boy the def put the pressure on and force the B you got that one right anytime the young kid se's one of those big guys looking to knock bring him down for a sack on the play great speed to find his way to the quarterback you know if I were the coach I'd line this kid up at defensive end every now and then wow can you imagine that on third long type situations he'd make a great rush in Kirk I like that I like that Kirk third and 15 coming up ball on the N yd line six DBS in the lineup back to pass looks here they come throws it to the outside and Falls incomplete so they go three and out after that incompletion on the fourth and 15 ball on yd Army ready to put this one away4 back to return didn't get all of that one and this one's going to go out of Bounds at the 32 and now a slight break in the action as the offense comes out onto the field for their next possession excellent field position to start the drive the r agent go with the a formation and they make the stop that'll be a pick up of one yain on [Applause] the second and nine coming up here ball in the 28 28 yd line Louisiana Lafayette lines up with a shotgun set he unloads it complete and down he goes maybe got two feet on the play one yain on the third and eight ball in the 27 yd line they come out with three wide receivers steps up he's looking across the middle got it on Third and long they get the first down but was it close close or not what a relief it is to the quarterback to have a new set of downs to work with it's first and 10 they're threatening inside the 20 their last trip down here was a success let's see if this one will result in another touchdown and they hit him in the field two L of two [Applause] the second and 12 coming come out it looks like he was hurt on that last play well it doesn't look like it's too serious guys but you never know sometimes those small injuries turn into seasoning ending ones the offense faces line yeah it really was Brad and also a nice read by the ball carrier to find that running one when you break one like that you got to give a lot of credit to the offensive line 11 yds out this defense better be careful the quarterback is in the zone and really feeling it out there they keep it on the ground with a tail back touchdown Army welld designed play to get the hat back into the end the 16 passing wasn't much problem the last time this offense had the ball as they were able to get it in for six [Applause] they'll start this drive at the N 39 y three wide outs to the right side on the ground with the tail back and they got him for a loss they couldn't get back to the line of scrimmage on that one I don't think they did a very good job of selling the pass the defense was able to read the play and come right in and make number is in the zone and look make a play he drops back he's looking one out to the left finds his receiver brought down I like the defense that was called they just didn't make the play on the ball you're right it wasn't necessarily bad defense the offense just executed and the result is a first down it's first and 10 ball in the 43 43 [Applause] yd number 15 from the shotgun throw first down he might not to get the pass off he's got complete On The Run wow nice catch way to look it in back up a job wide receiver these guys are moving the ball down the [Applause] field 12 and they can smell the goal line ra CES line up with three drops back one left oh he had the pick and he dropped it that might be the biggest drop of the game so far yeah he did a heck of a job in coverage he just didn't finish the playoff and that's why I guess he's not a wide receiver about 12 yds out a backfield they get it out there on the toss spins up field and he's taken down the offensive line got a really good push there allowing the back to pick up nine on the play they're crowding that line of scrimmage goes to the end zone and it's caught for the touchdown and for the third time in this first half they've managed to find the end zone through the air when this quarterback gets in Rhythm watch out this could be ugly [Applause] and he hits the tackled they get three yards on the play yard gain on the play second and seven ball on the 37 ball on the 37 yd line on the ground up the middle and he stopped behind the line good effort by the linebacker to come up and make the play on [Applause] the it's third down and eight to go ball on the 36 the Black Knight line up at a flickback set they'll go with a run once again they'll bring him down and that one goes for a big big first down you know every time you run the ball successfully like that that defense starts to creep up a little bit that's when you go to the air my friend over the top first and 10 ball on the 45 yd line hary comes out with an eye formation they going to pitch it here's an opening that was a pretty good run incredible effort there running the football by big guy let it go through his fingers the tight end's hands are all torn up and his knuckles are swollen from blocking every day in practice you got to give this guy a break I don't know about that time play in a new set of downs I think the defense might have been thinking run there coach well I don't blame him it's pretty common to see a run on first and second down but this offense is keeping on the old playaction pass third and five ball on the 38 the 38 yd line the r and cun set up in the gun that's s from Center he's gobl up in the back field excellent job by the defense to read the draw play yep the quarterback thought he could spread him out and find a hole for himself to run through but they were having none of that the ring cjun come out showing three wide he drops back he's current drive and the secondary better be careful this receiver wants to make a play got it he's out of bound great call we got love the screen pass I did a study a while back on screen passes and I found that 80% of the time the ball carrier will be tackled by the defender from behind now to avoid this you can peel a blocker back however it doesn't matter what direction you T if you're already picked up the first down like these guys did Louisiana lafette will line up in a jumbo set here rolls right goes to the end zone and he managed to find his tight end for his second touchdown reception the Miss tackle touchdown Army that's his third score of the day on the ground yo that's what I call a good start I'd call that better than a good start coach that's a great start most players only dream of scoring three touchdowns in a game this guy's done it in the first half and attacks on the extra find Folks at Pontiac bringing us this that drive was [Music] Place everyone's all lined up and ready for the kickoff is lined up for the kickoff number 80 kicks it off number 80 takes it the [Applause] 15 they moved the ball very effectively on their last Drive which ended with a touchdown the senior now that that was a good-looking play the quarterback put it his receiver could get it and now they have a first down what I like is the faith that this quarterback has in his receiver he's not afraid to [Applause] destroy it's first and 10 the 20 their last Red Zone trip resulted in a touchdown I don't expect this one to be any different way to look it in nice catch sure was he just with split back he's under some heat going deep and it's the senior and they tackle him and guys he's already over 200 yd passing in the first half well he's off to a great start it'll be interesting to see if he can maintain this level of play for the rest of the game it's first and 10 ball on the 35 first and 10 ball on the 35 yd line Army comes to the line only one man in the back field throws this one out to the left and it falls incomplete and he overthrew his wide receiver I don't know too many seven foot guys playing football so maybe he should aim lower the next time so it's second and quarterback can make some plays for you if you give him enough time back there to throw well it looks like he's going to have to figure out how to make plays without time yd Louisiana Lafayette lining there guys yeah we saw the same things all week in practice Brad he makes it look so easy out there no question coach whenever he touches the football you just know something special is going to Lafayette lining up the punt he gets it off return number eight builds it at the 41 what to look for on this drive is to see how often the defense changes up its coverages they didn't defend the pass
