You know, nearly 33,000 factory workers are on strike after their union rejected Boeing's offer to raise their wages. It has the potential to disrupt rather the airline industry supply chain including here in North Texas. Our Diaw explains the latest problem that aerospace company is actually facing the second largest plane manufacturer in the world. Now bracing for production shutdowns after 96% of union members voted overnight to strike. I'm ecstatic that the numbers are as good as they are. It's phenomenal that this many people got together and voted to reject a contract and voted to reaffirm the strike sanction 33,000 aircraft assembly workers mainly in Seattle have walked off the job rejecting Boeing's latest contract deal offering a 25% pay raise over four years. This is about respect. This is about addressing the past and this is about fighting for our future. But workers demanding more 40% over three years and a return to pensions instead of 401 contributions, the whole contracts unfair. They're taking too much away from us without giving us anything kind of after the last losing our pension. I'm not sure if there's at least me personally, there's a lot of, with the Union Boeing officials warning a strike will be a blow to the already struggling company which in recent years suffered two fatal plane crashes, a door panel flying off a plane mid flight and a problem plagued spacecraft that was forced to leave astronauts behind at the International Space Station. This could have impact in the millions, maybe tens or hundreds of millions of dollars if this is a long lasting strike. Certainly the value of the aircraft that Boeing may not be able to deliver would be enormous to be clear here. This strike isn't expected to lead to any flight cancellations but would stop any new planes from actually being made.
