it's personal you think I'm going to let them talk about y'all and they ain't going to be personal you think I'm going to let them doubt y'all and they ain't going to be personal it's personal for real don't want to hear no more talking let's do it how about it you got to feel that energy inside we that we're coming oh my touchdown Colorado all you learn is a opportunity to me and darn it I'm going to give you that it all starts tonight and football analyst Sam AO is here breaking it down Deion Sanders and Colorado have been in the headlines for everything from massive Ross over turnover to most recently beefs with the media local reporter Paul fine bomb uh they only received one vote in the AP preseason Bowl so fill in the blank for us they will accomplish what this season they'll accomplish proving if they are in fact for real here's the deal Colorado plays tonight against a North Dakota State team that is 9 and4 versus FBS opponents this is a Powerhouse team at least for the last several years they need to be ready week one but then they got Nebraska that's another better team they're also in the Big 12 not the Pack 12 anymore and so even that Colorado State game that's a game they continue play playing car has some dogs on offense as well now shador Sanders who threw for over 3200 yards 27 touchdowns three interceptions and Travis Hunter who's one of the best players in all of college football they will be the Catalyst for this team but they need a little bit more depth last year this colado team was one of the worst defenses in all of college football this year they have to improve dramatically if they want to be competitive in the Big 12 yeah then even think about a bowl game ESPN bet list their win total right now at 5 and a half let's get now to the big story of the weekend Notre Dame facing Texas A&M and College Station I can't wait to see it Riley Leonard now a quarterback for Notre Dame going up against his old coach at Duke Mike Elco who has now taken charge of the agies all right what's going to determine whether not the Irish win it's got to be Notre Dame's Run game and the reason why is this Notre Dame's two starting tackles from last year in the NFL whether tackle who came to replace the left tackle Joe all he got injured and so Notre Dame's got to lean on Jeremiah Love and jadarian price their two running backs have to be big cuz if not they're playing in Kyle Field one of the loudest stadiums in all of college football professionally I played there when I was in college I could not hear from me to you Hannah it was crazy and I wasn't even on the field I was on the sideline during that time cuz our offense was on the field and so 12 man that's a 12th man and so if if Notre Dame cannot run the ball it's going to be a long day for that offense okay why do they always have to start off with a tough opponent will you answer me that I asked Marcus Freeman the same thing obviously they're not a conference they can't earn that top four seed every game every win is so important uh I can't wait and you're going to be back soon I'm going to be back soon he's talking NFL he's talking College everything it's it's the Sam Macho hour here on Sports Center yeah and he's the first item in the te's coming up we're back with Sam Macho talking NFL he's going to tell you the week one QB matchup that he cannot wait to see plus we're live from Bengals camp where Zack Taylor just spoke about a star wide receiver availability we got the latest on Jamar Chase and you do not want to miss this interview with the coach mom and her 9-year-old son this video of her coaching going viral take a listen hey I'm going tell you where you messed up in you was down the first thing you did was SC it straight up what's going to be your first step okay okay I love that best she's still in her work cloth like she stay straight from work and that that's absolute best so you talk to her I can't wait yeah that's awesome wow next hour the Patriots have name their starting quarterback we are live in Foxboro for what the locker room was saying about toobe verp in qb1 uh and what's the latest in Cincinnati here what Zack Taylor just said about Jamar Chase less than 24 hours after Taylor said Hannah that he put his foot in his mouth uh decisions in Dallas Stephen A weighs in on whether Jerry Jones is making the right decision on not extending dax's deal right now and let's go to college Colorado kicking off its season tonight our analyst will tell you why you should not count out Dion Sanders and the Buffalo gerro Mayo says he made the decision yesterday and he let everybody know about it today his qb1 is none other than veteran jacobe brassette and his second stint with the Patriots this is new on sport CER I have decided that Jobe brette will be our starting quarterback uh this season now in saying that as an organization we're 100% behind Jobe there is no um you know you got a guy right here you got a guy right there we're 100% behind jacobe the hard part is thinking in the short- term and the long term at the same time as an organization though we feel like jacobe gives us our best chance to win right now you know I don't think it really has kind of like sunk in and hit me yet uh until probably once we get away for a couple days and come back but um you I I just can't can't be more excited to get this get going it's just so many emotions right now that you know I'm just trying to like Let It All settle in Patriots reporter Mike Reese joins us live from Foxboro this is why they brought brassette back maybe so that they could ease May long but it sounds like Bret's the starter for the foreseeable future so how did Mayo come to this decision well he leaned Hannah on offensive coordinator Alex Van Pelt who told us really why they leaned heavily to jacobe brassette he said that Bret's experience in this system was critical that he understands the tools that you need to get yourself out of trouble situations he said Drake May is still learning those tools and that while he's pushing here's the Key Van Pelt said there's still a process of how you bring a rookie quarterback along that ties to two words Hannah that the Patriots have been talking about all training camp as it relates to Drake May their developmental plan for him okay can you explain something to me because earlier this week Mayo was on a local Boston radio station and he actually said that may had outplayed brette so let's take a quick listen this is a or is a true competition it wasn't fluff or or anything like that it's a true competition and I would say at this current Point Drake has outplayed jacobe now I'm saying that we have to take the full body of work you know going all the way back to the spring and the beginning of training camp and we'll see where we end up okay I'm sure you speak Mayo uh by this point Mike can you please translate for us Hannah this is what made the last two weeks so fascinating here around the Patriots they were weighing the totality of Brett's work going back to the spring throughout training camp to maze work the last two weeks you know Mayo had said that prior to the last two weeks May was deferring to brassette and it wasn't until he really stepped up and turned up the competition that he that basically he was going for the job that things started to turn so you might be curious what's May's reaction to this we talked to him in the locker room late this morning he said there's two ways to look at it obviously the competitor in him uh would like to play but he understands Bret's experience in this system and he said brassette had the reps with with the ones throughout training camp true uh bed is 18 and 30 as a starter in the NFL one and one by the way uh with the Pats with whom he has started two games thank you so much Mike uh with more here's Jay yeah Hanah let's continue the conversation with our NFL front office inside of Mike tanom okay so jacobe brette is the starter Gerard Mayo says Drake May is not that far off in his development so when should this team give the rookie a chance to show his stuff Jay about 6 weeks baring something unforeseen and I think they made the right decision when you consider they have a new head coach they have a new play caller in Alex Vel they have a massive amount of questions on the offensive line that did not look good in preseason and a lot of new skill players so Drake May needs to look good for the next 10 years Jay not the next 10 weeks or anything like that so to me let jacobe brette and his 79 games that he played his experience start the season and then bring him along slowly in terms of when Drake May plays 6 weeks to me is a good parameter but we'll see how goes and the future is bright but there's no need to rush the decision you made the investment now we're playing the long game with the young fell in your mind okay I can see that all right let's talk about the Jets uh GM Joe Douglas addressing ass sound reic sold out for the first time today stating that he's not talking about a new contract until RIT reports you were the Jets GM how would you handle this exactly the way that Joe Douglas is doing and I boy I'm glad I'm not Joe Douglas right now I do not miss that and look we saw recently Matthew judon an experienced pass rusher with one year left to go show up in Atlanta and says hey let's see how it goes with the contract and I think what the Jets were saying is like that's a great comparison Hassan R's a really good player they gave him a third round pick which is a lot J and I think that's right because if you reward Hassan reck before he shows up what message are you sending to your locker room he turns 30 next month he recorded 15 and a half sacks over the last four seasons fourth most in the league so they need to get that taken care of Mr Tan bomb thank you so much thank you appreciate you all right another big
