[Applause] the one that one down the line and foul ball that fast ball at the bottom of the Zone can be very effective just got to keep it on the [Applause] corners the one- one is fouled off two outs B pie is [Applause] empty and another [Music] [Applause] ball the pitch swings through it and that's a strike out Padre's go down quietly now it's the ray turn no score you're dialed into the show back here at Tropic field and towing the slab here Randy Vasquez and singy it's Unique these days but he's more of a pitch to contact type of guy yeah Bo he doesn't rely too heavily on the strike out he knows he needs to miss barrels get some soft contact let the def do work behind him and I think a guy like that can keep a good Tempo don't give hitters time to adjust or think they can move through a ball game and you look up they're in line for a quality start we'll see what he's got in this one yandi Diaz leading things off and takes a strike this is a batter who clearly performs better in Day games I don't know why but his numbers generally back it up line drive caught [Applause] all right let's take a look at the raay lineup one guy leading the way offensively for this club right now Christopher Morell and boo he's their team leader in home run so you know the pitchers on that other side man they take a lot of time preparing for him in that pregame meeting you know he's got a lot of pop and it's real pop it's not fluky at all he can absolutely change the Outlook of a game very quickly so watch out when he steps in junior cero batting with one down takes a strike one out base is empty now one and one that's excellent location for a pitch like that it looks like it's going to be a strike and then it just runs in on the hands so if you can command it and hitters have to respect it just keep going in there until they make you make an [Applause] adjustment that's outside and that's ball two this one lifted in the air left field coming on proar he's there he's got it batting third no left two outs Bas is empty this is Dylan Carlson [Applause] swings through that one for strike one oh one's the count next pitch is downstairs in the air to left down the line and that drops foul some real good life going through the Zone on that one [Applause] runs it up to 96 to record the punch out nothing doing for Tampa we played an inning no [Music] score and welcome back to the ballpark top of the second now Machado up here when you talk about Elite defensive thirdd baseman this guy is at the top of the list baz back to work stud when you look at Players like this you play that Hot Corner got to be pretty courageous over there with the way balls come off the bat that's the kind of guy that every year you expect him to be in the All-Star Game and have a gold glove if not a platinum glove no [Applause] stri that one missed so what are the skills you look for that make a really good defensive third baseman that Elite well boo one of the things I think about immediately are just the feet does he have good feet is he able to quickly react and when you have Good Feet you've got soft hands and soft hand Defenders are able to make tough plays look easy fast ball for a strike [Applause] next pitch in for a strike Full Count now looks like he's wanting to work the upper part of the strike zone what does that mean Top Hand better be working for the hitters adjust that side a little bit give yourself a chance to hit and there's Paul four that could be a tone Setter for the inning four straight pitches and lead off batters on base we'll see if the next Guy waits until there's a called strike before he takes the bat off the shoulder and here comes sander Bogarts there goes the runner swing and a miss a second out such a quick and fast swing of emotions right there you get the runner on with the walk which is great but then picks a bad pitch to go on and you just erase the free pass that you were issued I understand you want to be aggressive you want to try to get in the scoring position but you just have to be a little smarter there righty to the pl that Clips the corner looks like a really good fast ball today you can hear that catcher mitt popping looking forward to hearing a lot of that one in this [Applause] one and the rander deals in the air left field Carlson in Pursuit makes the grab for the second out just pulled off of it a little bit right there that front shoulder coming open instead of staying closed if he does that he's going to be able to go up the middle the other way with some Authority instead of a fly out to left Merill goes 6' 3 in 195 lb a former first round pick in 20121 and the pitch [Applause] bounced out to short out number three we'll go to the bottom of the second no score back now in Tampa Bay bottom of the inning digging in it's the Speedy outfielder Josh low now the right hander ready to go still no scor the wi of the pitch would chase that time Ed Drummond behind the plate calling balls in St maybe one of the most respected umpires around the league he's not the kind of umpire that you're likely to notice back there and that can be a huge compliment really so if you're just kind of quietly doing your job staying consistent with your calls hitters pitchers managers even fans they're all going to appreciate you Ed drumond he's that kind of [Applause] umpire the two one is high and that one lifted in the air center field sizing this one up HS it away for the out that b so digging in Jose cavero good Defender he's been inconsistent offensively and that one finds the zone and that is strike [Applause] one fast ball for a strike I understand you want to try to gauge that guy's fast ball but you also have to be aggressive and ready to hit in your zone now you're in a tough spot and the next pitch is way [Applause] outside goes down swinging for the strike out couldn't hit the fast ball at the knees he's locked in at the plate when he's using the whole field he was out in front there just needs to let the ball travel a little more and his timing will be back on track good pitch for the strikeout Christopher Morell next to hit for the Rays that one's in there o and one no score here in the [Music] second and he chases that one below the Zone just a bit late on that 01 breaking ball 02 hole now he's going to have to shorten up tighten things up if he's going to have a good at bat two outs swing and this one's bounc to the ground and he grabs it in foul ground why to kick the pitch and a swing in a miss and good work there as he gets a one two three Rays held in check here we'll move to the third with no score top half of the third inning stepping in for San Diego David Peralta David Peralta and the pitch and that gets the inside corner for a strike oh one's the count in there at the knees and that is strike two righty delivers and down on strikes and there's one down well that was a pretty poor at that he just never got the bat off of his shoulder I mean you got to go up there looking the swing at some point especially once you're down 02 and at that point make an adjustment look to put the ball in play if it's anywhere close and I'm just not sure what the plan was there and now Luis cusano foul ball there [Applause] right through there for a strike bounce to the left side over to Diaz and that quickly two away McCoy Mason McCoy the next up for the Padre D pitches in there strike one slider for a strike that front door slider such a devastating pitch you don't want to get beat by the inside fast ball so you cheat a little bit and then by the time it gets there it's out of the Swing play two down nobody on the short stop takes the ball top of the third no [Applause] score one and two here on the ground right side Diaz takes it to the bag Padre's go down one two three three up three down for him there we move on to the bottom of inning number three we're tied nothing nothing and we're back ready to go for the last half of the inning now up for Tampa Bay Johnny Duca the line and the pitch bounce to the right Bogart handles the chance to First and a quick out number one Taylor and now Taylor [Applause] wals and downstairs [Applause] next pitch is [Applause] outside one down base is empty fall off foul the pitch [Applause] B and he walked him nope ball for his ability to draw walks has been something that's been part of his career since day one and now the catcher comes up to him ball one no strikes in there for a strike at the top of the Zone walls over at first with one away check swing and he held up Vasquez picks over Dives back ow unless you're really thinking about stealing second base you should not get picked off by a right-handed pitcher right there kicks and fires on the ground tosses across the first and that ends the Inning on to the fourth still scoreless back here at Tropicana Field out of the fourth here's the switch hitting left fielder jerx in proar [Applause] ball and a pitch and a breaking ball drops in for a strike and he deals oh this guy is so comfortable hitting with two strikes even a good pitch early in the atat if he's not ready to pull the trigger he's not worried if he gets to an 02 count gets down base hit so a man on base to start the inning just a solid swing right there caught it out front and ripped it into the outfield for the base hit those always feel [Applause] great here's Donovan Solano that one finds the Zone strike one oh here's a good opportunity in this inning to get on the scoreboard after that leadoff hit and hardly order coming up right behind him this is where they need to get [Applause] going now the o one late with the swing there all tied up top half of inning number [Applause] four swing wanging a popup he's under it makes the grab one [Applause] down now here's Jake cronenworth he was a strikeout victim his first [Applause] time Cronin worth a seventh round pick by the Rays in 2015 out of the University of Michigan where he was a two-way guy in fact the Rays used him that way rander kicks deals next pitch in for a strike and it's one and one fourth inning underway no score runner on the move next offering his foul back the pitch breaking ball inside it's two and two and here it comes got him swinging and now to G well he hadn't seen that change up the entire bat until that putaway pitch and it's pretty tough to deal with as a hitter you're up there battling trying to read and react with two strikes and then all of a sudden the pitch comes out of nowhere and it's a good change up it's just almost impossible to hit it when you haven't seen it and now it's Manny Machado he reached out a walk his first time pulls that one foul and he's down 02 as he swings through it quickly in an 02 count you've got to figure out a way to shorten your Pat to the baseball put it in play somewhere then you got a chance hammered and this one could be extra bases profar round second on his way to third headed for the plate he will score and they take the lead one nothing couldn't have timed it up any better than that textbook back control right there got a pitch on the outside saw it deep into the zone and just Barrel it up went the other way for the knock here's Xander Bogarts he's over for [Music] [Applause] one right through there for a [Applause] strike runner at second two down next offering is down low out towards right center field and it drops in here comes Machado around third he scores and they lead by two comes through with the RBI you know what they say he couldn't have thrown it out there any better than that and certainly the case that time just flared it back behind the second baseman and dropped it in there two outs runner at first so digging in now for San Diego Jackson merrow popped up to the left into foul ground brings it in and that is that but two runs for him and they jump ahead and Midway in the fourth it's the Padre's two the Rays nothing ready to go bottom four y Diaz now first well after putting up a nice Inning on offense got some runs across this is where you look for the starter to go out there have a shutdown inning don't give that other team any hope uh you just hope that he can get through this inning get the bats back up there while they're [Applause] hot and there's a ball [Applause] bounce to third handled by Machado Zips it to first one out in the bottom of the four well he's doing a nice job of keeping the ball out of the air lets the def behind him with another ground ball good execution Junior Camero next to hit for the Rayes fly to left his first jve highfly ball out to center field as this one sized up and puts the squeeze on that one and there two down here's the left Fielder Dylan Carlson struck out swinging his first time lace down the line this looks like extra bases around first and hustling for second and that's a two out double it's their first hit of the game well that started and ended pretty quickly no messing around right there nice line drive to the pul side right there but he didn't spin off of it that's the key you still have to extend through the baseball in order to hit a line drive like that man it's second here with two away and stepping in for the Rays Josh low that one fouled off the strategy of winning a ball game when you could make that pitcher work a little more expose himself by throwing pitches that could be the key to winning perhaps later on so good job of extending this inning getting a knock with two outs to bring the number four hole hitter up [Applause] man it's second fouled off left [Applause] side goes down looking no runs one hit a double no errs and one man left we're headed to the fifth it's the Padre's two the Rays nothing and welcome back to the ballpark we go to the top of the fifth and here is David [Music] Peralta the right hander back to work and immediately pump s a strike to the left-handed hitter Peralta 36 years old he joined the team as a free [Applause] agent left hand batter weights that's a [Applause] ball a swing and a miss as he chases way out of the zone two stra swings and misses it's a strike out pulled the string on the change up next it's the catcher for the Padre's Luis cusano 0 for one so far he's been going after these guys consistently and as a result he's been able to keep his pitch count low throwing the ball very well right now and that's off the Inside Edge ball one base is empty one away and we're at the top of the fifth next offering is in for a strike I got a ball one [Applause] strike in the air right field huls it in for the out and there are two outs now McCoy so up next Mason McCoy 0 for one he grounded out in his first at bat [Applause] Short Stop takes a [Applause] ball big swing and a miss wow no fair right there I mean that slider didn't move till the very last moment incredibly difficult to pick that up just going to have to tip your cap on that pick one ball two [Applause] St and there's a hit and that extends the inning that was maybe even a little off the plate but no problem getting the barrel to it man he does such a nice job and that's what you're supposed to do with a pitch in that location so the lineup flips over next for the Padres jerks in proar that one finds the zone that strike [Music] one two outs and takes low for ball one got one ball one strike the pitch proar gets a piece there pretty impressive we haven't seen that pitch from him much but he's got a really good feel when he throws [Applause] it out to short walls they get the force that's out number three one left for San Diego but they hold a two- nothing lead back now in Tampa Bay John shaby with my buddy Chris Singleton and set to get a started bottom five Jose Cavo here comes a pitch just missed well these Rays from what we've seen I think it's fair to wonder if they've been too patient at the plate sometimes it's a good thing but today they're continuing to fall behind in the count and that's adding a ton of pressure to their offense close one doesn't get the call three and0 [Applause] [Music] let's see if he gives him anything to hit here splits the plate and now three and one way out front for strike two I can't this B chases that one out of the zone now one away very frustrating right there as a speedy potential base runner when with two strikes you just struggle to put the ball in play you don't even have to get a hit at that point you can help your team just by reaching on an erir but some way got to find a way to shorten up the swing and put the ball in play next time Christopher Morell next to hit for the Rays wouldn't chase that time count one and0 the Padres up by two last half of inning number five that one in there across the letters one down base is empty little Chopper rolls foul and a pitch and it's even up really good take especially with two [Applause] strikes and another ball the punch out there two away down well just excellent location on that inside fast ball really locked him up and it's a hitter it's not typically what you're looking for you're trying to protect away and then in so you can be a little bit tardy with two strikes hard to tell if he was fooled or if he thought it' be called the ball but either way that's a really nice piit and base hit and that keeps the inning alive [Applause] dominant performance for him today boo just two hits allowed so far no runs across either and he's had an answer for just about every hitter he's faced so I don't think this hit is going to knock him off his stride too much Taylor walls next to hit for the raysl [Music] right through there for a strike oh he's looking great so far it helps with over 80% of your first pitches or strikes he might be able to go the distance if he keeps this up that one ripped right center field a dive and he can't haul it in the relay not in time he's safe a run comes in on the play that triple right there just stings the ball probably could have been caught a bad angle bad route to it that's a catchable ball that turns into a triple and here's the catcher ground it out his first time breaking ball inside and that is ball one two outs with a runner of third and that one fouled [Applause] off at the belt and fires and that's in for a strike [Applause] and the righty deals foul ball still one and two count the pitch PS and misses it's a strike [Applause] out a lot of adrenaline we can see it right there and sometimes you just got to let it out that's an outstanding job of taking that executing and getting out of a tough inning back here at Tropic field all right we go to the top half of inning number six and now the DH Donovan Solano baz back to work turned on but that's foul down the third [Applause] Baseline and the pitch and that's too high one ball one [Music] strike next offering is in for a strike struck him out without a swing he's got to be frustrated with that call wow that's a tough call for the hitter but the pitcher will take that all day long not quite in the strike zone but he found a spot that the Umpire is going to at least for now allow him to get that call so hitters are going to have to make an adjustment but pitchers are going to learn from those things and really try to exploit them if they can and the batter now Jake Cronin work Carlson hauls it in and there's two away not fooled at all right there he was clearly all over it but sometimes you hit it too hard and right at someone you're looking for one of those bloop hits to get a knocked sometimes Machado stands in with two away as he takes the ball two down nobody on and we're in the top half of the six next offering [Applause] upstairs kicks andand deals right through there for a strike nasty two- slider there for a strike that tells you he's got a lot of confidence in that [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] pitch towards first first Diaz takes it himself and it's a one two3 inning offense held a check there top of the order to up in the home half of the six it's the Padre's two the Rays one Jason Adam on The Pitch Out of the pen here and one thing on him he's been really good this season at keeping the ball in the easy guy to take deep so the raay batting order turns over and here's the first baseman yandi [Applause] Diaz and a pitch and that one's a little bit low and that's B one activity in the bullpen for San Diego Tanner Scott preparing to come on if needed [Applause] fast ball in for a strike and a count one and one [Applause] right-handed reliever gets a piece there we'll do it [Applause] again the one two and that one missing low this guy's a fun guy to watch taking it bad he just battles up there he doesn't take a pitch off at all makes it so difficult on the pitchers out there you could tell they get frustrated with how long it takes to put them [Applause] away and the rhander deals stays alive always he's having a tough time getting a pitch by him as a hitter you feel pretty confident that you're seeing different pitches still able to make some type of [Applause] contact missed with a change up and that's ball three Junior Camero waiting for a turn at the [Applause] [Music] pl 32 on the way gets a piece and stays alive five foul balls in this in Bat so far and these two are going head to-head you can see the crowd they're starting to get into it a little bit more and more each pitch even though there hasn't been a ball in play [Applause] yet and he chases that one he didn't make it easy for him on the mound but they still get the strike out well that slider was way out of the zone and for me it just comes down to not seeing the pitch out of the hand not tracking it into the zone and then also being a little bit anxious not confident in your two- strike approach and so when a guy's in that position you get him to commit early and a lot of times you get the swing and Miss as you did right there stepping in junior CER see the velocity 97 with that fast ball [Applause] the pitch hard on the ground to first he handles it himself two up two down the leel number 10 Dylan Carlson Dylan Carlson next to hit for the Rays one for two well both sides equally as strong so not a good time to try to turn him around round with a relief pitcher and put him on the other side of the [Applause] plate that's off the mark one and0 home team down a run here in the bottom of the six and that one almost got him oh that pitch not even close a two count now he can't be over aggressive he's got to make sure that pitch is right on a t for him [Music] and there's a breaking ball that drops in [Applause] [Applause] there and that's in for a strike [Applause] got him looking and it's a three up three down inning down in order go the Rays they're down two to one and we're back and here is Xander [Applause] Bogarts the pitch right through there for a strike meanwhile activity in the bullpen Ryan pepio appears to be getting loose cleer a lefty warming up as well kicks and fires comes up empty that's strike two ball one to B guards o02 pitch that far out of the Zone gives the hitter a little confidence that maybe he can climb back into this at bat The onew Knocks that one away and we do it again looking for the k Jackson Merill getting ready to hit Merill a very strong candidate for rookie of the year he's been a real story one of the best young players in the majors this season that's in there and it's old and one faces empty one away here in the top half of inning number seven [Applause] field two foul ball left side he'll see [Music] [Applause] another the2 that's a little bit low excellent arm action on that two strike change up just missed man he wanted that call one down base is empty in the air to left Center Carlson settles underneath it two down well timing is the key to Great hitting and right now that door is still locked they haven't been able to figure out pitch sequences and it's impacting them across the board David Peralta at the plate and the first pitch misses for ball [Applause] one that one pushed to the left and foul two down nobody on this to third over to Diaz and that is that nothing doing there for the friar but they still lead it two to one number 25 taking over on the mound he last pitch two days ago [Applause] and now the right fielder Josh low the [Applause] right and a pitch strike on the inside corner not close with that one and the count is one and [Applause] one and fires in a fast ball at 95 really going after him here all fast balls to get ahead in the count just missed man oh man I don't know how you take that pitch that's as close as it gets and that one is inside Jose Cavo up next [Applause] looking to get the tying run on base and that one is lifted in the air tracks it down for the out one up one down oh such a confidence boost for a relever to come into the ball game and get the first hitter he faces just makes everything slow down a little bit and then from there can really settle in [Applause] cavero in the Box here lets that one go for a [Applause] ball and fouled off trying to hold a one-run lead here the bottom of the seven swing and a Miss and that strike two one ball two St swings and misses struck him out slider got him for strike three definitely made him chase a little bit out of his own right there I don't think that's a strike if he takes it pretty textbook pitching get ahead in the count get the guy in the Box on his heels and then force him to chase your pitch where he doesn't have much of a chance to do any damage so next to the plate for Tampa Bay Christopher Morell there's 0 for two with a pair of [Applause] strikeouts and the first pitch misses for ball one count one and [Applause] two outs and now two and nothing struggled a little bit in this one couple of strikeouts earlier but doing a much better job in this bat to get ahead and find a good hitters count at 2 and0 righty to the plate now three and0 Johnny to Luca to bat next [Applause] the right-hander gives up the two out walk well two out walks are never good especially when you're trying to get back into that Dugout but he's still in a good spot he's just got to refocus and deal with the bottom of this order Johnny Duca now at the plate his July and August splits there [Applause] typically The Outfield defense will play a little bit deeper just to keep the ball in front make sure that runner on first doesn't come all the way around to score and tie this ball game up well in this situation hitter knows that he's got to find a pitch that he can drive in order to drive in that tying run all the way from first base so if he can't do that keep the line moving a walk or just a base hit but you got to stay within your s and that one fouled off Morel leads off first with two down to the [Music] [Applause] inning foul back our way and that's out of [Applause] play and here it comes BS it off still one and [Music] [Applause] two and that's downstairs and outside got him looking that's a strike out Ray strand up the one and our score remains 2-1 welcome back and a new arm on the mound to start the eight Ryan pepio and he's been really shutting down Hitters from the right side of the plate this year not a lot of hard contact not a lot of hits period Well one run game here's the catcher Lu [Music] usano the pitch and that's outside and it's w too pepio in his second season 26 years old and he was a third round pick back in [Applause] 2019 and that's outside [Applause] and the slider just misses back to back breaking pitches away you get the feeling as a hitter that the pitcher is afraid of you that he doesn't want to challenge you so I think the confidence level is raised right here in there at the knees [Applause] the wine of the pitch fights it off he'll see another and a pop up right side foul territory Diaz makes the grab and there's one away Mason McCoy the next up for the Padre's just missed activity in the bullpen Manuel Rodriguez appears to be getting ready and I'm sure he's feeling some nerves this would be his major league debut the one the short stop takes the ball two balls no stri the wi to kick the two and that gets the top of the zone for a strike backto back fast balls in that last one called for a strike probably go away but look for them to come back in there to try to finish you off off the plate inside ball three [Applause] out to short wals Zips it across two up two down here in the top of the eight so the batting order turns over profar climbs in on that left side one for three there's a strike a strike power now he may have not liked either of those first two pitches or agreed with the umpire's calls but at this point he's going to have to bear down and be ready to hit anything close to the arm swing and a miss struck him out and a nice inning of work there as he sets him down one two three Padre's go down quietly they lead it 2-1 back now new pitcher on the mount as we roll into the bottom of the E Jeremiah Estrada these are the spots relievers really make a name for themselves late and close there's not much margin for error but at the same time there's a reason they're put in these situations Kevin cash going with a pinch hitter here Ben and he would be the Ty run boo so we may see him try to launch one if he gets a good pitch to handle and he deals F off [Applause] foul y w center field Mero should have this one makes the catch and there's one gone the catcher number 28 and now the catcher comes up to here and that's outside ball one action in the pen down there Robert Suarez the hard throwing righty is up and [Music] loosening holding on to a one-run lead near the bottom half of the eighth inning that's in there and the count even at one getting a little frustrated with the strike zone on the ground out to short two gone that play won't be trending on social media later on but it's still important to execute it to Perfection this game is a lot harder than it looks partner back to the top of the lineup yandi Diaz next to hit for the Rays a swing and a miss and that's strike one oh one's the [Applause] count two down dolman swing and a ball popped up bulgars brings it in for the third out Rays go in order 1 two three and they Trail it here two to one so coming into the game now on defense Jonathan oranda he's in it short stop and now it's going to be Donovan Solano he's been a great free agent [Music] inside pepio back to work just off the Inside Edge meanwhile activity in the bullpen Tyler Alexander warming up for manager Kevin [Applause] cash just [Applause] missed and that drops in for first strike in today's game not that many fast ball counts but hitters still in the back of their minds they're looking for one two change up call right there excellent pitch selection to go with that's way outside and that's ball [Applause] three that one at the knees for a strike [Applause] righty delivers and a foul ball he stays alive three and two payoff pitch swing and a ground ball out to short Aranda throws the first in time and the leadoff man retired here in the ninth deceptive slider right there stayed in the tunnel a long time got that hitter out front rolled over it put it on the ground stepping in for San Diego Jake cronenworth pass ball for a strike one-run game here in the top of the [Applause] ninth and that one hammered on the move and one hops Off the Wall should be extra bases cranworth the round second headed for third the throw to Third and he's out trying for three the triple is arguably the most exciting play in baseball and the guy's worked so hard to get around first to get around second and get thrown out of third and you just feel bad for him on top of that he was already in scoring position so you think about how it kind of hurts the team as well and that one fouled off two down nobody on here at the top of the the [Applause] night strike two and this has been a real important inning in the Le I mean so far they've been doing a great job holding that deficit at one going to count one and two one ball two stri count [Applause] [Music] and that's a base hit Joey gets on base and keeps it going man it first so digging in now for San Diego Xander Bogarts that one finds the zone and that strike one the pitch this one popped up fou ground first Bas side Diaz DPS towards it and that's a foul ball Machado the runner at first with two gone [Applause] swing and a highfly ball out there towards left field Carlson makes the catch in and over Padre's leave one as they're unable to add to their 2-1 lead we're back and on the m is the closer Robert Suarez 29 saves on the season so he's looking for number 30 right here he's been paid for him in the back of that bull at the plate now for the Rays is the DH Junior cero go0 for three with two fly outs and a ground out and the pitch in there for a strike at the bottom of the Zone Fly ball down the line profar has a beat on it pulls it in for the out now batt left he's two outs away Dylan Carlson digs in now to the right side Bogarts Fields it cleanly and they're down to their last out well there's a lot riding on that at bat right there nice job of the pitcher to Bear Down make the pitch get the ground ball excellent piece of work Josh low next to hip for the Rays oh for three with two fly outs at a strike out first pitch doesn't find the zone no trying to close out a one-run lead here the last half of inning number nine swing in a Miss as he was out front I got one ball one strike two outs [Applause] [Applause] the Rays down to their final strike swing in a miss and that's the ball game he's done it again Bo that's his 30th save of the year as he puts another game to bed sweet dreams everyone and your final score here today 2-1 for Chris Singleton and our hre crew I'm John shopby saying so [Applause] long for the final line score for this afternoon's ball game for the Victorious San Diego Padres two runs six hits no ER they left three runners on Bas for the r one run on three hits no ER they left three runners on Bay time of the ball 2 hours 44 minutes thank you for joining us here this afternoon and might flee drive home [Music] safely e [Music] for for e [Music] [Music] e e e e e e e [Music] e for [Music] do e [Music] ch [Music] e e e [Music] e e e e e [Music] e e [Music] and welcome in everybody glad you're with us MLB the show as inter league action for you this afternoon it's the San Diego Padres taking on the Tampa Bay Rays first pitch coming at you right after the break just about to get underway and on the hill today Shane baz well he's putting together a really nice season on the mound RA in the low threes very respectable when you consider guys are looking to do damage they're not trying to just walk and hit singles they're trying to hit homers and draw walks and score runs so when you have a guy that can limit the other team from scoring more than a few runs that's really tough to be game in and game out stepping in for San Diego jerks and proar the pitch out there to Center Duca under this one and there's one down as we take a look at the Padres lineup and probably their most productive player so far this year Jake cronenworth well boo there aren't many guys who have a flare for the big moment like he does I mean batting over 400 with runners in scoring position are you kidding me I I know it's not guaranteed or an automatic but I hope we get to see him in a close late game situation with runners in scoring position and just see is he truly a machine or not oh one down ground ball left side and it goes just [Music] foul here comes a pitch and they'll do it again [Applause] one down base is empty ball one one ball two [Applause] strength battling here as he fouls it away [Applause] and now two and two it's a good take spoils the two- strike pitch and he'll see another ninth pitch of the atat do next and that's in the [Applause] dirt swing and a miss struck him out he battled for a long time but it finishes with a strike out you can't be mad at yourself after an bat like that one two outs Bas is empty now here's Jake cronenworth wouldn't chase that time rander kicks deals he was late there strike one good fast going early until they show they can make some good contact you keep on throwing the pitch two out Bas is empty chases the fast B up the ladder struck him out Padres is down in order and now the Rays will get their first opportunity in a scoreless ball game you're watching Major League Baseball on the show back here with my pal singy and today's starter Randy Vasquez well no doubt about it he's going to have to put together some consistently good performances in order to bring that er down now he's got good stuff he's just got to be able to have confidence trusted and really go after hitters not nibble trust that his stuff can have late life in this barrels of bats now a chance for yandi Diaz to the pitch that's a strike one and one [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] started after it appeal to First no swing you can see he was trying to stay back long enough to handle the off speed pitch but just a little Tardy on the fast ball and the rander deals gets a piece there we'll do it again again the one two in the air left side profar gets under it and there's one away now a look at Kevin Cash's lineup for the Tampa Bay Rays one guy leading the way offensively for this club right now Christopher Morell and boo he's their team leader in home run so you know the pitchers on that other side man they took a lot of time preparing for him in that pregame meeting you know he's got a lot of pop and it's real pop it's not fluky at all he can absolutely change the Outlook of a game very quickly so watch out when he steps in junior Camero the next to hit takes ball one and that's ripped into left Bas Hill so man aboard now with one away thir no left this is Dylan Carlson now this is in the air down the line on the move towards the line tries to make the play but it's foul California Kid played for his dad at Elk Grove High School his teammates there with Nick Madrigal cero leads off first with one away and now it's even [Applause] up and a swinging to missis one ball two [Applause] and the pitch Machado on to Bogarts what a double play that was inning over nothing in the Tampa first on to the second now from Tropic still nothing nothing back now in Tampa Bay and now the veteran third baseman Manny Machado Manny Machado the rander back to work pitch misses ball [Applause] won ripped to short walls throws to First Shadow is out now here's Xander Bogarts now Bogarts hitting fifth in today's lineup and he was born in [Applause] Aruba Off the Mark there and that's ball one one out base is empty next offering is in for a strike GL Washington doing the umpiring behind the dish in this one sometimes considered a bit of a pitcher umpire singy he likes the low ball which traditionally favors pitching but you know hitters today are pretty good at dropping their barrel down so we'll see how it goes in this one has some trouble with it he decides to hold on to it and they don't get the [Applause] out man at first with one gone and here is Jackson Merill that one misses one and0 counts one [Applause] and0 and the righty deals swinging Miss and it's one and one well there's a certain point where you have to commit to what you think you see and he guessed wrong right there nasty slider with just terrific fight at the end man it first one away check on the runner Bogarts back easily the onew on the ground two ball there's one out not in time at first it's a fielder's [Applause] choice David Peralta at the plate first pitch misses [Applause] and another ball Bo he never moved cuz he never had time to with that kind of velocity you'd prefer that pitcher work away two that one catches the corner for a strike back to the mound he's got it and that is that one left for San Diego we'll go to the bottom of the second no scored we head to the bottom of the second and now here's a speed threat outfielder Josh low now the rightand are ready to go still score and a good eye [Applause] there live drive base hit nice job of driving that pitch the other way on a line you know hitters they take so many reps in the cages working on going to the opposite field and it doesn't always translate into the game but right there it did and he did it perfectly and now they've got some speed on first runner on the goal strike in there and that's a stolen base not even close you know what I like the aggressiveness right there looks like it's going to be tough to score in this one really good pitching so far so why not try to put some pressure on him and see if you can steal the back get in the scoring [Applause] position pitch misses and the count even one and one grab ball up the middle tosses to first that's one out the bottom of the second not a bad outcome in that spot the runner moves up to Third and now they have a chance to drive in the go-ahead run it's not a knock but at the end of the day it's a good ATB now at the plate Christopher Morell you talk about the power and the speed together well we knew he was going to be a stud just coming up making his way through the minor leagues and quickly at this level an impact player close but called the ball and that's ball one that's a strike across the top of the Zone well we call that Keyhole even though it's right there and looks pretty good if he doesn't love it he's not going to swing that early in the count [Applause] [Music] one away with a runner at third bottom half of inning number two the two on is high this situation he's trying to get you to pop something up or Jam you it's a really good take knowing he got an opportunity to drive in a run here and there's a foul ball his eyes got big he saw that change up way out in front better to pull it than to get jammed on something off speed like that at the Belton fires hit in the air right field Peralta pulls it down Runner tagging from third he's in on the sack five and it's one nothing sometimes all you got to do is your job and don't over complicate things keep it simple Runner third less than two outs put the ball in play and a nice job with the sack F so two down now and here is Johnny Duca first pitch and he just misses he didn't want to give up that run but he did got the Fly ball sack fly out now it's time to attack these other guys get your team back in the Dugout check swing did he go yes he did one ball one break that's to third Machado whips it across and that is the inning one run one hit no errors and nobody left on we head on now to the top of the Third third it's the ray one and the Padre's nothing and welcome back to the ballpark leading off Luis [Music] cusano here the right hander back to work fast ball for a strike and a foul [Applause] ball does and he can't hang on not in time great effort but it's an infield hit oh a swing like that can help you come out of the struggle we saw the numbers coming into the ball game but all he's trying tring to do at this point is help his team win so digging in Mason McCoy ground ball left side could be two off balance feet there's one relay to First double play got what he was looking for on the mound right there and his infielders took care of business pretty B execution between short and second to turn that into two outs so the lineup flips over now batting Jer in profar 0 for one with a fly out to Center fast ball for a strike [Applause] [Applause] and a pitch foul [Applause] ball hard hit left side throws across the diamond profar is out and the inning is over back here at Tropic field set for the bottom of the third and the batter will be the short stop Taylor [Applause] wals as he turns on the rubber here with that good live arm delivers and a swing to miss a good change up to hit up in the zone I don't think he recognized it I'm sure he'd love to have that one back swing and a miss and he got him to chase stri good eye in that spot really good take especially with two [Applause] strikes fights that one away still one and two the pitch and that's in and it's two and two got him swinging got away with that curveball no doubt about it it passed right through the heart of the strike zone and he just couldn't get the bat on it when you strike out on one like that that's when you start having conversations with yourself and they're not usually very friendly [Music] and here's the catcher Line Drive coming on Pro far he's there he's got it two down now batt the first y so the Rays batting order turns over digging in yandi Diaz he's over one and it's f way if I want to start that load a little bit sooner because of the good vo and a foul [Applause] ball and he'll chew comeb backer to the mound tosses to First Ray is retired in order nothing do it for Tampa but they're on top one- [Applause] nothing all set for the start of the inning here's Donovan Solano Donan and he deals just off off the outside edge ball one you know these Padres just lacking discipline at the plate in this ball game they're chasing a lot of pitches outside the zone and those chases that are turning into a bunch of outs can they turn that around and stay within the Zone we'll see but I think they have to low calls it in and there's one away next to hit Jake Cronin work oh0 for one he struck out swinging last time [Applause] that's in there he's pitching well but not throwing a ton of first pitch strikes usually doesn't work out for success but he can never predict baseball that one finds the zone that strike two quickly down 02 in the count I think you got to choke up a little bit spread out the feet you don't know what the velocity or the location that this next pitch is going to be kicks Indi that just misses and the count is one and two the Rays leading by a run top half of inning number four swing and a miss got him to go up the ladder for the k no messing around with the pitch calling in that sequence right there four pitches all fast balls yeah and that makes me think that was the plan before the atat even started if you think you can simply just beat a guy with only your fast ball why throw him anything else until he shows you he can handle it here's Machado grounded out his first time up in there and it's own and [Applause] one two down nobody on swing and a miss this guy's not wasting any pitches hitters got to get into swing mode this is a good time to expand the Zone throw something maybe down in the dirt not even close there and it's one and two swing and a miss struck him out nothing doing there for the friar still behind by a count of one to nothing and we're back John chabi and Chris Singleton with you and leading off the bottom of the fourth Junior [Applause] cero and the pitch ex offering popped in the air right field and it falls so a runner a board to start the inning that's back to back singles for him with the way Defenders track down balls these days I mean both from the infield and in the Outfield there really aren't a lot of base hits on balls hit like that but there's always a little room back behind the first and second basem to drop a la Dart in there and he found a way Camero on at first nobody out Vasquez throws over cero gets back easily the pitch lined into right Peralta makes the [Music] play number 15 L Josh low next to hit for the Rays singled and scored his first time he's someone that you might not describe as having Elite level speed but he can absolutely move and it is a factor in his game and a good fast ball to start him off that's strike one Bo this guy's definitely a plus Runner but what I love about him is that he goes all out every single time never takes a break it's guys like that even though they don't have the Elite Speed the fact that they're consistent with it they make moves on the Base [Applause] PS left hand batter waights one and ball one one ball two strikes count good eye right there righty to the plate down the line and no one can get to it it's a foul ball the two two now we got a full count ground ball right side could be two there's one back to the pitcher covering it's a double play nicely done and that'll do it one hit in the inning but no one left we played Four it's the raay one and the Padres nothing back now in Tampa Bay and here comes sander [Applause] Bogarts the pitch that one out to right low has it sized up one [Applause] away now and now the center fielder Jackson Merill oh for one he hit into a fielder's Choice as first [Applause] time ball one no strikes and another ball well he's so great about hitting the ball the other way he gets those arms extended so right there just trying to straighten him up a little bit so he doesn't have as much outside plate coverage one down base is empty four a rare three ball count here he's been throwing strikes all day got to be ready to hit if you're in the Box kicks and fires right through there for a strike three1 count saying to himself I've got to get a fast ball here just spins a get me over breaking ball bring the count full check swing at the Full Count offering appeal to Third and that's a swing Accord in to umpire Ed drumond this guy will throw any pitch in any count 32 he goes off speed gets the out next to the podres David Peralta he's 0 for one swing and a ground ball off the middle that's a base hit so a two out not keeps the inning alive up Luis usano the next up for the Padres reached on an infield single this first time just off the Inside Edge cusan in his second season 25 years old and he was the second round pick back in 2017 and a pitch that one finds the Zone that's strike one tying Run is it first and we're in the top of the fifth now a check swing but he held up and that's outside here's an opportunity to do some damage and perhaps unlock this offense 3-1 count be ready to turn on a fast ball two outs foul ball there 3-2 two out runner on first lot of movement in the infield hitters got to stay focused on the pitch that one 95 to finish him off Padre's leave one they Trail here one nothing we head to the bottom of the fifth now up for Tampa Bay Jose Cavo [Applause] the wi to kick the pitch and takes low for ball one well these Rays digging into their numbers have to be happy with the swings they're taking they've hit seven line drives already and even though some of them have been for outs there's nothing wrong with delivering consistent hard contact that's almost always going to lead to positive results that one catches the zone and the count one and two swing and a miss and he struck him out and one gone oh there's a small side of relief right there I mean just to keep that speed off the base pass it's not just the pitcher it's other guys that have to think about it from your infielders have to think about that Runner potentially stealing but also be in position to make a play as an outfielder you're thinking about a base hit to the Outfield I got to get to it quickly to try to keep this guy from taking an extra base so I think everyone just a little more relaxed that he didn't reach base base is empty one away last half of inning number [Applause] five left field profar makes the grab on the Run just pulled off of it a little bit right there that front shoulder coming open instead of staying closed if he does that he's going to be able to go up the middle the other way with some Authority instead of a fly out to left Dua at the plate with two away swings through that one he's pitching well but not throwing a ton of first pitch strikes usually doesn't work out for success but he can never predict baseball no ball two strikes and the right deals swings through that and it's a strike out and good work there as he gets a one two three Rays held in check here but they hold a one- nothing lead and welcome back to the ballpark all set for the top of the six so digging in now for San Diego Mason McCoy baz back to work out front and foul to the left side lifted in the air right center field low ranging after it no trouble here puts it away for the out and there's one [Applause] down here's the switch hitting left fielder jerx in Pro for and the first pitch misses for ball one the race up by a run and we're the top half of the six that one finds the zone and the count one and one it really looks like these hitters have been in between with their timing today good fast ball excellent slider but they've not been able to commit to one velocity and stay there just missed and that's Ball Four well he tried to nibble right there and just missed his spot hitter didn't offer at it now he has somebody to worry about over at first one down so here's the Padres DH Donovan Solano just missed would a lay off that pitch [Applause] down profar at first one [Applause] gone hit on the ground might be two Morel toss the second double play they can't seem to break through inning over ptry in motion there as the second basem turns the double play nice throw to first and that's the way to end the [Applause] inning and now here is Taylor walls his July and August splits there [Applause] W and here it comes right down to shoot going one that one pushed [Music] foul struck him out looking well he froze him with a great fast ball right on the corner it's kind of like bowling when you think the ball's going to get into the gutter and somehow just hangs on to that edge and knocks down a pin well he got the outside corner of the plate and got that called third strike number 28 the batter now as he swings and misses for strike one next offering in there for a strike no balls two strikes count and down on strikes he goes and there's two away yeah that's a tough pitch to stay on you don't want to get beat inside and as you see that pitch continue to run away from you by the time it's in the catcher mid you think it's a ball off the plate away yandi Diaz [Applause] now and there's the strike well on the mound very efficient able to produce an outcome it seems like within the third or fourth pitch of just about every [Applause] bat swing and that ball smashed on the line coming on proar he's there he's got it and that's the inning down in order go the Rays they lead it one nothing back here at Tropic field and now the first baseman Jake cronenworth the pitch hitting is all about anticipation and right now this lineup is struggling with it their swings are mistimed and it's produced a few ugly Cuts here [Applause] there looking to get the tying run on base on the ground to third slings it across that's the first out the top of the seven oh believe we talk about how the ball is coming out of the pitcher's hand the way it comes out of his hand as an infielder wow really impressive here's Manny Machado and that one a little below the knees and that is ball one [Applause] [Music] top of the zone and it's called a strike well I'm impressed with that challenge pitch right there even with the slim lead this guy's not afraid to go right after these hitters the next offering misses and it's two and one you get to this part of the order yeah there's some pop there but more likely there are some base hits so very important to be patient let the pitcher walk you if you will and the two two and another ball trying to hold a one-run lead here in the top half of inning number seven in the air out to Center under it he's there he's got it two [Applause] down it's sander Bogart now one for [Applause] two b one [Applause] low chase that time [Applause] [Music] fast ball for a [Applause] [Applause] strike the pitch fouled off he was [Applause] late two down dolman on helpful the guy at the pl could recognize slider out of the hand didn't stay in the tunnel very long in terms of depth and perception he knew right away it was an off speed pitch out to Center Duca has a beat on it hauls it in to end the inning [Music] righty reliever out of the pen Jason Adam just trying to keep this one close here and this is where a bullpen can give their players a chance to fight back into the game Junior Camero getting ready to hit the designated hitter Jor coming nrow the pitch and that's off the Inside Edge and that's ball one Bullpen action for the Padres Tanner Scott the left-handed reliever appears to be getting loose there's the strike one [Applause] right-handed reliever that one not close now two balls in a [Applause] strike swinging a foul over the screen and back out of play and that just misses and that's awfully close I don't know how you take that he's seeing the ball out of the pitcher's hand really well right [Applause] now swings through that one it's a strike out the Le digging in is the switch inning outfielder Dylan Carlson first pitch doesn't find the Zone B is empty one away here the bottom of the seven that misses and the count is two [Applause] and0 just missed [Music] and the pitch gets the call and the count is three and one well at that velocity if that's all you're seeing 88 you can handle that all day long that's what you get in batting practice but off the velocity of the fast ball that is a very tough pitch to adjust to [Applause] the kick the 3-2 right side Bogart's with the throw to first two up two down the right number 15 next to bat will be the rais four hitter Josh low [Applause] and that one just missed off the outside edge next offering is downstairs [Applause] and a good eye [Music] there leftand hitter Waits a pitch for a strike three and one swings through that one out in front that time count 32 3-2 gets a piece and stays alive look out that ball oh smoked man I am so relieved that they have this netting down the lines just ensure safety for the fans last thing is a player you want to look up and see if fan get hit swing and a miss struck him out and it's a one two three inning nothing do it for Tampa but they lead it one to nothing and we're back new inning getting started here's the center fielder Jackson Merill Andy de ball one there well it's been a very impressive outing so far his command has been a big part of it even when he misses he misses outside the strike zone which is exactly what a pitcher [Applause] wants that one back up the middle and gu through and the tying run is on with a leadoff single oh always feels amazing getting a job done when the team needs you to come through it's just bigger than your own individual stats really nice job staying up the Middle with his approach he didn't try to do too much with the pitch just shot it through the infield here comes the skipper and we're going to see a pitching change in this spot Shane baz is done and he was very good they'll be happy with that no doubt we'll be back with a new pitcher in a minute now a new pitcher for the Rays Richard L he's having a ton of success facing left-handed hitters this season so this seems like a smart move to turn to him with a lefty at the plate now a pinch hitter coming on for the Padre's Luis AR a runner at first for him nobody out [Applause] and immediately pumps in a strike to the left-handed hitter if you're a base runner you got to stay dialed in here look for anything in the dirt try your best to get in scoring position at the belt and fires this one chopped on the ground but foul the two strikes may see some movement over there at first base trying to stay out of the double play right here and now the Lefty and just misses with that one man oh man I don't know how you take that pitch that's as close as it gets left hand batter waights foul ball still a one and two count with the tying run on at first and we're in the top of the eighth [Music] the pitch that's down and in oh this is a guy that can be frustrating for pitchers because he fouls off so many pitches and grinds out the adad I'm sure there's sometimes where pitcher would rather just give up a first pitch single than have to waste six or seven pitches on one hitter Luis cusano on deck for the Padres this is a really good feeling for a hitter at this point in the ball game you know that they don't want to walk you so you're going to get a pitch to hit you just better not miss it and ball four to a board it wasn't easy but he earned that walk after a long at back well this could be the start of something they haven't found a way to score yet but now's their chance to change that first and second no outs stepping in for San Diego Luis cusano this is what stat nerds like myself might call a high leverage situation yeah boo not sure what the numbers say but clearly and a bat that could change the course of this game [Applause] dramatically the possible tying and go ahead runs on base nobody out in the air left field down the line he Dives but can't make the play and that's a foul ball the pitch grounder might be two Diaz to Second and that's two the 361 double play in my opinion is one of the toughest plays to make you've got a pitcher covering first and the middle infielder throwing to a moving Target everything has to be perfect and right there they made it look pretty easy next for the Padre's Mason McCoy the short stop takes the [Music] [Applause] ball next pitch is outside ball out there on the mount he's got to go right after this hitter because you don't want to turn this lineup over this is the guy you got to get that final out get out of this inning and a pitch late on that fast ball as a hitter you got to learn something from that pitch he clearly wasn't timed up on the fast ball in a two count you have to be ready to do [Applause] damage next one just misses and now it's three and two jerks and profar h on Deck Circle three balls two strikes the count swings throw it and that's a strike down he's in a tough spot had to make a great pitch did it got the strike out gets out of the jam clearly he's happy with those results back now new pitcher on the M as we roll into the bottom of the eight number 25 pretty tight game so they're looking for Quality pitches out of them right here got to do his best to keep the score right where it is now into the ball game on defense Bryce Johnson he takes over and right number 27 well one- Run game and stepping in for the Rays Jose cavero second [Applause] basem and a pitch and first off ring is fouled off rander kicks deals that one fouled off here's the 02 outside two stri [Applause] and the one two misses to even the count good eye right there really nice two- strike pitch right there very tempting but couldn't get the chase and the righty deals swings and misses struck him out just a mid90s challenge fastball right there not much to it and I'm sure he'd love another swing at it because it was in a very hitable location those are the swings where you can sometimes start to question yourself as a hitter and say how did I miss that but you know what happens Morell in now takes ball one off the plate movement in the bullpen Tanner Scott up and loosening in the pen hoing getting loose as well one down base is empty he swings and fouls one off [Music] B is empty one away here the bottom half of the eighth inning [Music] [Applause] [Applause] [Music] this Ball's chopped on the ground on the Run throw to first two up two down two outs Bas is empty and now the center fielder Johnny Duca three pitch strikeout last time up got to put up more of a fight in this one fast ball for a strike looks like he sacrificed to pitch right down the middle for tracking and timing some good hitters will do that two outs a little out front there as he swings through it more and more guys are looking to slug regardless of the count and this situation will keep a close eye on his [Applause] approach next offering way off the plate rarely will you see a pitcher just waste a pitch like that the batter wasn't even tempted to swing every pitch needs to have a purpose so that it can set up a following pitch to help you get that out line drive he's got it and that is out number three Rays go in order one two three but they still lead it one nothing [Applause] welcome back and here comes the closer Colin po should be a good first match up for him here he's been doing a great job against right-handed bats so far this season they've had a lot of trouble squaring him [Applause] up and a pitch far in the box now Tak strike one some hitters are just more confident they can track that first pitch out of the hand of the pitcher they don't care if they fall behind o [Applause] one and Poe ready to work and that's a base headit and that puts the tying run on base well a big swing of the bat right there that's about as textbook as it gets got his stride load out of the way early stayed inside that ball and squared it up out front man that was like he was in the cage Hitting off a te so a change being made at first base on the pinch run Tyler Wade no outs runner at first now the number two hitter Donovan [Applause] and the pitch a little bit low ball one inside just missed Chris with that distraction and the Speedy guy at first he's in a favorable hitters count well if nothing else I mean this is a great spot for a hitter to be in good hitters count the 2-0 lifted in the air out to left drops into the globe [Applause] he's two outs away and here's the first baseman Jake Cronin work 0 for three with two strikeouts and a ground [Music] out that's in there it's O and one o and [Applause] one one-run game here in the top of the ninth on its way to the corner and that lands in no man's land a foul the [Applause] ball the pitch that one off the mark now one and two pretty standard High 02 fastball right there if you're smart look for something down in the zone but not too far don't want to chase that breaking ball in the dirt kicks and bouns it off still one and two [Applause] the pitch fights that one away still one and [Applause] [Music] two here comes a pitch foul ball still a one and two count a onrun lead here at the top of the DI next pitch is downstairs that's a really good [Applause] take and here it comes cuts and misses it's a strike out so they're down to their final out here's the clean up hitter for the Padre's Manny Machado oh for three a fly out of ground out and a strike out swinging a Miss that's strike one that's a big run over there at first base he's got some speed let's see if they send it now snap throw to first and he's back in safely well at least you got the pitcher thinking a little bit you don't want to run yourself out of the ball game you get thrown out or picked off it's over and he de and downstairs I got one ball one strike wait off of first with two away Runner takes off Pitch misses in and safe it's a stolen [Applause] [Applause] base so the tying run at second and Manny gets a piece the Padres down to their final strike that's foul off to the right side keeps the ab going well he knows they don't want to give him anything to hit but when you've got opportunities to drive in runs you've got to expand the Zone he's capable of going out there in doing damage with it swing in a Miss St him out and and that ends the ball game the tying run left stranded at second well this one was all about the pitching in defense outstanding job of the pitch really attacking hitters trusting what the catcher was putting down and trusting the players standing behind him to make the plays defensively sometimes you want to see a high-scoring game but sometimes you can appreciate the artistic beauty of what these pitchers did on the mound today the final one to nothing they hang on to Win It by a run for Chris Singleton and our entire crew I'm John Shum sing so long from Tampa Bay fin for the Victorious r one run on three hits no errors they left two Runners on Bay for the Padres no run five hits no errors they left Runners on Bay time of the ball game 2 hours and 20 minutes thank you for joining us here this afternoon and we remind you that please drive home safely e [Music] e [Music] e [Music] e e [Music] get
