[Music] [Applause] what is going on everyone it's your girl Nicole and I'm Jordan and you are tuned in to the Playbook Diaries podcast the best podcast in the freaking Galaxy and we have some good good stuff to talk about today my girl Jordan how how are you I am sleepy how are you we had a busy week we'll get into it later but you and I had we had a very busy week I'm okay uh I'm okay it was a long great glorious weekend and I had some good Nigerian food and I had some good Jamaica oel I'm crying that food is so loud I I'm I'm good I'm good I'm good um but what's going on in the football world what's going on in the football World all righty so we'll do a quick little recap we got a couple things so now that um college football has finished week one um most most games turned out how we expected so let me do a quick overview of the game so Georgia put the beating on Clemson beating them yeah 34-3 winning by 31 points that was brutal considering that Florida was ranked 14 so I I didn't really think the beating was going to be that bad but it was Jordan is ring number one so I don't really see Clemson dropping too much I think maybe they'll drop to like the lowest of 17 but I think they might remain where they are because they played the number one seed I'm you they they beat him by 31 points okay okay okay then we had uh pen State uh number eight ranked Penn State uh played unranked West Virginia and P State 134 to 12 now I will say um I posted some content earlier this week and I thought that West Virginia had a a chance to um upset Penn State because West Virginia is one of those teams where even though they're not ranked they still be sneaking up on teams yeah don't be sleeping on them yeah so Penn State might stay where they are at they're gonna stay in that same range they might not move up too much and I only say might because I need the full like chart in front of me of who played this week and who they play to see if they're going to shift I really don't think this week uh because everybody seemed to win and they were blowouts like the top the top 15 teams seem to be blowout so um I don't see the chart shifting too too much because of the the win margin so um let's see USC number 23 ranked USC beat number 13 ranked LSU and that score was 27-20 that was a good it was a great game it was a great game but you know I don't like USC I wanted LSU to beat USC but that's didn't happen did you did not happen did you see the end the the endg game interview with the LSU coach when he was upset with his team he was very yeah I did yeah he said it was a was he the one that said it was like a coaching issue and he know how they pull it off yeah he needs to do better coaching he probably also was in that little hot they're in the hot seat like you can't first of all they had a lot of dumb penalties I mean a player going full-blown ja Morant and mimicking guns it's like how many examples of what not to do do we need to have before you know like a gun emote is not okay you're going to get an unsportsman like call you're gonna get a penalty it's just like what are you doing yeah like literally what are you doing and then go proceeds to go to the bench and repeat the offense to show his teammates what he did I was like oh my gosh so techn it's just like how does that even seem like that should be done like are you making a signal to shoot me well you have to you have to keep in mind the age of the players so you can have a player as young as 16 rare occasions but sometimes they can go as young as 16 all the way to like 28 29 on one football team so the maturity levels definitely range and then you have people coming from not even all over the country like people are traveling from all over the world to attend these universities so it's just like it's so many factors that could affect someone's like mindset on what they deem as appropriate versus what someone else deems as appropriate so we'll just we'll cut them some slack because they're still young I feel like we can all agree though that a good point is not I tried to throw some bell I think we all can that after we watched John morang get in trouble for it twice but in his defense johnar got in trouble for it twice for actual they the guns real sure sure sure we let we'll let him slide this can't be doing that other games so I get it when it I get it when it is a I guess we should just ban it all I get it when it's a shooter cuz like sharp shooter right I get it maybe when it's a quarterback because you're just like I don't know no we can't we cannot the gun emote all together just we can't do this not don't even do what they were doing in the Olympics like the guns not in the US we don't have the the history record to be just doing gun emotes so just stop moving on moving on from uscl LSU I'm G get to this scene last number seven Notre Dame defeated number 20 Texas A&M was this expected yes did I want Texas A&M to upet them upset uh them yes I did I did want them to upset it but this is not I actually did not watch that game I fell asleep that was a good game that was that went all the way to the fourth quarter for sure um yeah I was my eyes were glued to the T on that one for sure and that score was 23-13 not a super big margin it's just a touchdown and a field goal so a touchdown the field goal literally um our second last our second to last game we had uh number 19 Miami that defeated an an unranked Florida and that score was 41- 17 I was really surprised at Miami I think Miami got that dog back in them when they had the felons on the team not they did have a lot of Fons on the team Miami was a wild team um back in the day and I think they got him back I mean the whole now I watched that whole game and I was like yeah dogs and they're playing in they were playing in the swamp so to defeat a team like that at their home stadium and then to proceed to like yeah and then to proceed to go over to the to Florida's recruits and say come to our school I said oh they got that dog K you know I like I like unruly things like that I like chaos and so I'm like yeah I was like yeah yeah Miami's back and then finally we have the one upset of the week which was the team that had an upset last week we have Florida State our number 10 ranked Florida state that fell to an unranked Boston College the score of that that game just concluded and the score of of that game was Florida State 13 and Boston College 28 that was Boston College wanted it more um I don't even think it was that like you you can say that they wanted it more but I mean FSU was making dumb mistakes they couldn't catch a ball to save their life they could not they could not they were dropping wide open passes quarterback was undercutting a lot of the throws it I mean it was just sloppy play all together and then a lack of like fundamentals like strong fundamentals it was like I mean the number of missed tackles was like embarrassing think sure is and so it was it was a game of fundamentals I mean Floyd State could have definitely won that game if you took out all of their penalties and then just like the frustration started getting to him and so you have the big guys on the line that are like play as completely over and they want to go push and shove after the game unsportsman like conduct C I think Sportsman like conduct call is like the worst call you can get in college football because it's so unnecessary but it's I mean that will that will lose you a game honestly if it come when it comes down to the nitty-gritty when you're playing like teams that it's really really close to you can't have those minor mistakes like that so I mean you I mean you could see that Florida State's team was just like defeated at like halftime and they had the opportunity to come back but they're already frustrated and you can see in their faces like it they're not going to come back they're they're super frustrated and they've been they've been having a series of just L's since last year bowl games where they didn't make playoffs that kind of went downhill you know they granted their quarterback you know got injured and sat out I mean he had to sit out because he was injured but ever since they just been taking L after L literally so I know we talked about that last podcast we mentioned Florida State last podcast like the Florida schools have a horrible history of being upset that the college committee doesn't put them in the four team playoff bracket when it was four teams only even though the Florida teams would be undefeated you saw Florida state do it last year we saw um UCF do it a couple years ago and it's like I tell people all the time the strength of schedule makes a massive difference if you're not playing anybody ranked you cannot be ranked hype you're not playing anybody ranked because we have nothing to compare you to and so like this it's like they they complain oh we we've been undefeated I was like well yeah sweetheart you didn't play anybody that was ranked and then you come back the next season and it's like you're losing to ranked teams I mean you're losing to unranked team unranked teams like it's just the committee made the right decision last year they made the right decision last year you said what they definitely blown their chance for getting ranked I mean they're so they were ranked number 10 but this actually you know this officially counts as week one of college football so today was the last day of week one the week prior was officially week zero which is kind of confusing but only a couple teams play week zero Florida State being one of those teams and I mean Florida State lost last week to a team that they weren't supposed to lose to I for actually forgot what team they played last week let's see how both let's see how Boston College does maybe Boston College has a year so that Boston College you you Boston College you get into like I strength of schedule they're only playing one more ranked team so unless other teams just get move up in the ranks but right now on their schedule they only have one rank team it's at the end of the season so we'll see how that goes crazy super weird not weird but interesting fun fact do you know that um big large power five schools pay smaller schools or non mid major or non poweri or mid major schools to um go against them at the beginning of year like know that uh Alabama paid a Western Kentucky University $1.9 million to play in Alabama's home court um UT paid Colorado State 1.8 million um Ohio State paid akan 1.8 million and Michigan paid Fresno State 1.8 million um to come and play and I guess to get beat but you never know those upsets can't happen they can't happen they can't happen happen but I mean it kind of makes sense because respectfully with those schools make 1.8 million if like for example would Fresno State make 1.8 million if Michigan came to freso State probably no exactly you know you know why the so there's there's like perks on both sides of it there's exactly there's business decision it's like hey we didn't even make 1.8 million if it was on your side so here's 1.8 million we automatically make like 10 million off top from like ticket sales um that has nothing to do with you know alcohol sales food and Beverages and X Y or Z parking so the money the money spent in the city as well it's a winwin and um exposure exposure but you know what else one thing you forgot to mention is is a confidence booster for the large teams it's like we're going to give you guys a couple teams and you're going to blow out the opponent and it's going to build the teams like the team bonding you know everybody's bonding when the team's winning so it builds the team as a whole it builds their confidence for sure when they have those harder games it's a great a great it's it's a good thing on both sides um so for those who didn't know that now you know anytime you see the beginning of a college football season um those are usually some form or fashion of I mean they're all business transactions but that's a very specific intentional one for these large schools um ni you got what uh what the games that are to look out for for next week what are our what are our big games for next week yes or this should I say this upcoming week I forgot it is Monday night yes this upcoming week one game that I'm very very excited for is UT versus Michigan because Texas is back so I'm expecting a great game um the other game that uh we need to be on the lookout for is Tennessee versus North North Carolina State NC State so that should be a great one as well I believe what is NC State they're ranked like 24 yeah and Tennessee is uh 15 and 20 and Tennessee is 15 so those should be some really good games to look for um anything else will cause you ball um who you have winning uh Texas versus Michigan who you think's gonna win where's the game at the game is at Texas the game is at Texas I is it at Texas or is it in in arer um I'm so sorry the game is in Michigan in in Arbor I have my dogs Texas winning I'm just gonna I'm gonna root for the for the for my state so what's the weather in Michigan right now is it hot cold I have no clue but I mean it's it still should be okay I might go with Texas because uh Michigan lost all all of their starters last year you know yeah it it should be it should I'm going with Texas um NC State versus Tennessee is at NC State I I'm gonna go with Tennessee I want to go with Tennessee NC State's home crowd needs to be ready pumped energy going crazy um but the Tennessee players should already like the Tennessee players should be well versed in like stum loudness and Chaos because Tennessee has the loudest stadium in college football yeah so by by actual decal measurements it is the loudest stadium and what uh football players have reported as the most difficult St to play in because it is so loud so yeah um I guess we UT and we both go on for Tennessee so we'll see we'll see anything else with college football um we do we did get an alert during the Florida state um Boston College game that the Pack 12 will probably desate as a conference for the 2025 2026 season so those teams um who do we have in that conference we have um orgon State Oregon State and then we have uh who's the second Washington State yeah so Oregon State Washington state will more than likely be Independence for next season unless something changes but they did uh reach the deadline on their I believe their TV deals and so some sort of deal they reached a deadline on and they did not renew their contract so they'll probably they're probably looking to be Independents for next season they are both interesting schools um with that were within the Pack 12 like even one I can just imagine like what conference would they like merge into and that wouldn't that would fit okay I really don't know without them like kind of basically going to a mid- major um I think Washington State could fit into ACC but what would be difficult for them would be that time difference because Washington state is obviously on the west coast and then you have ACC most of their teams are on the on the East Coast so that time difference they would essentially be CH like CH going across two or three time zones everying time they play Washington's figuring it out or they're gonna have no choice but to figure it out yeah they're going to figure it out but you know there's certain things that you don't want to inflict on your players so it's like I mean I prefer to play a team that's in the same time zone as me or a bunch of teams that's in the same time zone as me versus have my players on the road adjusting to the time zones every single time we have an weight game that's gonna be a tough that's like we we talked about it last episode that's going to be a tough adjustment like just the times difference I mean call they figure it out they figure it out they're they're young they young enough to figure it out they're kids they can they can adjust better the weekend it's true baby speak for yourself I can adjust I can't I you know can't I struggle with time zone differences I need sleep it's just so bad but you got at least two days at least two full days yeah I don't I don't like that West Coast time difference that one is I don't like that one but for me that's all that I have for college football tell us something about women's basketball let's talk about some WNBA stuff so currently I think one of the interesting things are who is going to win workie of the year is it going to be Kaylin Clark or is it going to be Angel Reese kayn Clark um has the single most game assists in the WNBA ever with 19 assists in one game um she's the first rookie to get a triple double she's the first WNBA player to have a back-to-back 25-point game 10 re 25 points 10 rebound game she leads the league in assist and she's second in three-pointer made but on the other side you have Angel Reese who is the top rebounder she averages the most rebounds um and she has the most double doubles or maybe she's a she almost had the most double doubles in the in WNBA history but she for sure has the most for this year with 15 backto back double doubles the issue with Angel Reese or I don't know if call it issue actually let's just go back who do you think is going to win Rookie of the Year with these stats Angel Reese has the has the crown for rebounds and cin Clark has the crown for assists I actually think that the WNBA is going to play it safe and make them co- rookies of the year I really think they're gonna do that I don't know if it's ever happened but I it's probably aund I I can almost assure you it's definitely being talked about in those rooms only because they know that they there's going to be an uproar no matter who they decide on it it's going to be a race war regardless these two have been the focal point of the American race Wars since their junior years in college and they just keep F feeding into that war because you feed into the war and you that war makes money and so I think that um they're going to play a super safe and be like you know what if we if we pick Caitlyn all the angel Reese fans gonna be mad we pick Angel Reese all the Caitlin Clark fans are gonna be mad and I think that the WNBA is a little too scary for that and they're just going to be like okay we're just going to make them go co- rookies of the Year oh actually I would rather not have the I personally would rather not have the award I'm like I I don't like sharing Awards with people I stand corrected with the I said I said the kayn Clark had 25 backto back 25 points Teddy rebounds it is 25 points 10 assists I don't know who I think is going to win Rookie of the Year I'm going to go with right now I think right now I'm going to go with Angel Reese and the reason why I'm going to go with Angel Reese is because the Record She is broken I mean kayin Clark has broken a lot of records as well um the back to back double doubles 15 in a row that's very impressive for um a rookie that's very very impressive for a rookie and she has she's the mo she's the top rebounder of the league um and so I'm gonna go with I'm I'm gonna go with Angel Reese the downside or the critique that she's been getting is so many people have been saying that she rebounds her own shots which well in in her defense they did redo they they check the stat for and they adjusted for the shots that weren hers she was still the leader in it so it's just I understand where they're coming from so I looked up her field goal percentage her field goal percentage is 35% that actually 38% that part might actually work against her when it comes to rookie exactly because that means you're not really making it uh and it's 30 and she and she's a big man she's right she's right by the go she should have a way higher field goal percentage than that yeah she's not she's not shooting shots they're all within the perimeter so I don't know the 30 perc not that great she is 35th overall when it comes to the highest um field goal percentage so I mean she's not bottom she's like top top middle tier so we'll see I'm I'm I'm roing for my girl Angel she has a lot of freaking haters she has a lot of haters I I I think she is drastically like it's like I think it's pretty bad when you look at the comments like it will be something irrelevant it'll be about agel Reese and then there'll be comments about like but k Mark is better even though we there some of the comments are just flat out racism so once you remove like the racism it's like I don't really I don't know if you would yeah it is haters but it's like racism is racism you can't fight just like whatever but um yeah know but the one that I'm I'm a fan of kayin Clark because the media is always so messy with kayin Clark and they always try to throw her bones and she never takes the bait she never bites it and feeds into the narrative that they're trying to she handles it great they're trying to paint she handles it great and I can assure you if I was in the same situation I would not so that's why I admir her in her position a lot because I'm like oh my God she she has so much constraint that I don't have so it's admirable because i' have been like oh yeah all been talking is trash I mean they definitely try to set her up to be messy as hell do it never works she literally comes off as like a humanitarian she she does she really does go off like Bill Gates wife literally she she's like you tried it again and I'm I'm coold I don't want no smoke with nobody yeah yeah all right so what's our next topic this was a short episode it's a short episode today this is a short episode but we just had a banging um episode we have a really great treat for everybody um Jordan what do you think about our last interview so I I think our so we this weekend some of you guys saw it on our Instagram our social media pages and apparently some people talked about it on Tik Tok but we actually filmed an episode with Cody Ford um some of you may know him as a old linan from the University of Oklahoma um he was actually on the number one o line in the country in 2016 winning the Joe Moore award um that old line that was uh fighting for uh Baker Mayfield so it was a really really good old line and um but a lot of you know him um for his drama on social media specifically Tik Tok um with his ex influencer girlfriend Tiana robard uh I hope I said her name correctly um but they were together really popular on social media I was a fan of them both and the relationship and then they broke up there were cheating allegations he confirmed it she confirmed it and so it got a little messy on Tik Tok and um so Tiana had done a couple of podcast interviews and so at the Playbook Diaries we reached out to Cody and we got a response and he came on the podcast to I don't want to necessarily say like he told his story but he told things from his perspective um and we some interesting things and and and spoke from a interesting narrative because when men cheat them always interested they're like like why and I want to know the thought process through it and Cody was able to provide that for it so it's actually a very interesting episode and I think that it went way better than expected like way better than I had ever IM imagined it to go because he was he speaks so eloquently and um he articulates his thought process really really well and um I think he showed that in the episodes so it definitely went better than what I expected it to ever yeah I had a great time I I mean I do think that he came through literally to share his side of the story um so definitely tune in I mean even if you'd like I would even recommend tuning in and seeing a couple of her podcast or a couple of podcasts that she she been on you know that that that she's been on and then check out you know um our take from with Cody cuz I think the story is kind of different in some situ some areas and I think that's it's going to be great yeah definitely if you are interested in getting the like getting the full experience for That interview which is about an hour and a half long I believe yeah um an exclusive no one else has this interview and no one else is going to get this interview he did the interview with us and only us and um I would definitely if you want to get the full experience I would highly recommend you go and watch like maybe one or two of Tiana's uh podcast so you can see what her stance was on things and her story behind things and see how they differ when the story is told from uh Cody's point of view or perspective but um how how has social media been for you since that's been posted we've been getting Nicole we've been getting a little bit of hate on Tik Tok we've been getting a little already the the episode's not even out and we're already getting hate we've been getting hate on Tik Tok I think that you know we're definitely stirring the pot a lot of people are really anticipating this episode it's going to be a good one we ask some of the some great questions delectable questions we get right into the weed of things we didn't hold back and neither did Cody so it was it was very direct you know whenever you see people get interviewed and you're like they didn't even ask the good questions they didn't like on the like on the love Island uh reunion it's like oh my gosh why didn't they ask this we literally went through Tik Tok comments and asked him what people on Tik Tok were asking it so all of those questions were answered so people please stop dming us personally and from the podcast page um we have been a I mean n they've been called us all types of stuff and we're not girls girls we're not we're who wants to hear his perspective well actually in reality there are a lot of people that want to hear Cody's perspective lot of people um and even if you don't believe it I I'm still messy I just wanted I like hearing both sides of the story just so I can make my own observations and I would invite everybody else to do the same please stop inboxing us I just wanted to hear both sides of the story um just because I'm hearing Cody side of the story doesn't mean I'm a gross girl um doesn't mean you're not a doesn't mean you're not a gross doesn't mean I'm not a girl girl um but stay tuned I mean this is Juicy are saying that he went on a small podcast they'll be watching that small podcast so per that's just what it is a good point you don't have to answer or address I'm like I'm like hey I'm like everybody gota start somewhere but for the people that did say that because like I mentioned earlier I am very messy and I am very Petty I screenshotted them so um so I will be reposting that once we hit like you know a year from now two years from now once we hit the million followers I will be reposting that as a vent and now to show the progress so um hey it is all good no no hard feelings
