let's I guess we'll start with how uh Central Michigan finished last year yeah go ahead five and seven five- seven record last year three and five in the Mac Jim M's back at head coach obviously um preseason ranked eighth in the conference their beta ranks on offense they were 100th on defense they were 122nd they obviously didn't play the balll game all right so I kind of like Central Michigan this year um so they're going to be able to run the ball um like like uh and said M Way's back and although his he's if you look at his coaching history he's got some some experience as a quarterback coach wide receiver coach but if you look at his resume the teams he's coached are running the football even when he was with Florida they had Will Greer that he could throw the ball they were running it they had another year where who was the other quarterback they had Felipe Frank Felipe Franks holy [ __ ] good memory yeah they had Felipe Franks he was running the ball that year so this is a coach that has showed us he is down to run the ball certainly was running the ball last year They're bringing back three starters on the offensive line uh they got the the running backs back the quarterback that's going to be starting is ber Emanuel he wasn't the starter last year but they did a split quarterback system this dude got a lot of time last year and he's fast is all hell so Central Michigan will be able to run the football 100% I have I question whether they're going to be able to throw it didn't they bring they brought in a quarterback transfer though that you said might be pretty from Iowa from Iowa typical Iowa you can't really look at their quarterbacks and be like hey you're going to be good or hey you're going to be bad cuz like they don't play offense so like you never know what those guys um he does he's a better thrower than he is a runner so I if I think it trying to do the same thing they did last year with Bower and have a quarterback that was my thing and I think that was part of their problem last year I mean they didn't make a bowl game so clearly it wasn't a very successful season all they could do was run but they never truly sold out and just became a running team like they were doing it plenty but when you have Bower you want to throw it if they're starting bird Emanuel he is not developed as a passer at all so he's not a very he can't throw the football then just sell out and run do run do options and stuff like that they never did that and I think that's part of their problem they didn't really have an identity last year so if if they're going to start uh LeBus as I believe I you say lias whatever thought it was leas I don't know weird um if they're going to start him then they're kind of going through the same motions they did last year where they're going in out on a different quarterback and I've always said if you have two quarterbacks you don't have a quarterback you need to have one guy you're set on and I think that should be a manual for this team fully sell out be a running team we'll see what their o line is but they had a really good run blocking team their run blocking was great last year not great pass blocking um but if you're good at something just do it and I think Central Michigan's Rush attack needs to be focused on this year um well I think part of the reason so I I I hear what you're saying I think part of the reason that they weren't able to to make that split offense work was jaay Bower being a Freshman um part of it so what what year is this guy laas from Iowa he has a year um I believe this is a graduate um he he played in games the last two seasons at Iowa so he has some experience I mean he was never their starter but he started a few but he was never like the true guy there so um he's played in some games so I mean he was with Iowa back in 2022 so this is a dude that's he was on the bench all last year they and that's that's part of it that's saying something because Iowa went through three quarterbacks last year and he won one of them yeah they never gave they didn't even give him a chance they went to Deacon Hill before they went to him so like that's part of that that's why I think emanuel's the full go here but regardless I think the offense should be improved um because I think the the the running game's going to get even more Dynamic and I don't I think Jay Bower as a freshman just wasn't it I expect Jay bow to take a step forward this year um but I I mean I think Lamas could give you the very least what Bower gave us last year so I think the offense would be slightly improved um here's the problem the whole defensive line gutted their best defensive player was that kid Bristol he's gone where's he at now oh no he's I believe he's at Detroit Lions Camp yeah Bristol graduated he's in the an yeah he's he's trying out for the Lions or something um now here Phil Steel in his book said they brought in four transfers on the defensive line but I couldn't find them yeah Jaden Davis I'm looking for right now cuz I oh Jen Davis is from no I he's from uh I found him uh [ __ ] the [ __ ] he was on it looks like he was on the team last year didn't play much um but like some of these guys they brought in their smaller transfers they did bring in a corner from Iowa who didn't get a lot of playing time last year um if you bring in a defensive player from Iowa that immediately raises my eyebrows because everybody that gets recruited to Iowa is usually pretty talented defensively um I there the the the fact that they're not returning anything really for a defense that was really bad shows me that they better have brought in good additions and I don't see it but more power to them if they think they did I I don't see it though yeah they brought in the defensive Line's going to be gutted and I don't know how much how many stops they're going to make but they're going to put up some points so overs for Central Michigan uh let's go ahead and do the uh the win loss game your favorite game I have actually their under interesting I think it it's going to come down to early on in the season there there's a game in there that we might disagree on I'm a little higher on this team than other people are one sec I need to go get this window there's a game in there okay so it I think it'll be the difference between them being ball eligible and not being ball eligible and hitting their over and not hitting their over Okay so let's see what game you're talking about here central Connecticut's a win yeah it wasn't that one that's for sure um I think they beat FIU Road game FIU let me get it so they can see the whole what the hell all right whatever they can see it here um so yeah they probably beat FIU if they lose to FIU that that's a problem yeah that that' be an issue um so win win loss loss at Illinois win against Ball State that's the one to me lose I don't think they win it I have them losing it but it is a home game against a team from the West Coast San Diego State fully new coaching staff pretty much a new team I'm a little higher on them than most people are so I have that this is a loss but I understand that this could be a toss up for some people so let's say three and two this is winnable yeah Ohio is winnable it's their homecoming game for a reason it's their worst home game um I don't I don't necessarily see them winning that I I like Ohio's offense Ohio's rushing offense though yeah oh yeah they're running backs sick they have a two running back system that's going to run through the Ro's gone and they lost their six leading receivers we're going to talk about Ohio next actually uh that game I'm taking the over regardless of what it is oh yeah that's going to be a high scoring yeah um they can beat Easter Michigan yeah Eastern Michigan's a very winnable game for every Mac team besides like one so one two three possibly four wins this will be five wins I think the losing stretch starts here one two three losses Western Michigan I have as a win I have at five wins so I had way Western Michigan is a western Michigan is a loss this is a l home game middle of the week Western Michigan we'll see what they are I I think that's that could be a win all right so you have at six I would say five I'm at five oh then you have the under yeah I have the under I'm this team's solely going to be come come down to if they're just willing to sell and go completely to the run then I think they'll be successful um defense has to be better they didn't bring in a ton of additions but it's Jim mcque he's been there um he's been there for a while but he's been around the block he was in the SEC so you never know what he has of his sleeve but if they're not good this year he'll probably not be there anymore all right next up let's talk Ohio uh Ohio Bobcats and we we briefly mentioned it um Ohio's defense last year insane um it was awesome but one sec let me go ahead and get we got Ohio over six and a half win they had one of the they had the best
