that an armed crew has stormed an apartment building that has allegedly been overrun by Venezuelan gangs reportedly spilling out from a sanctuary City so that means they came from a sanctuary City over to Colorado to take over the gangs have infested the quiet community with high crimes and fear turning the neighborhood into a battlefield earlier this month video footage captured a group of heavily armed men breaking into an apartments in Denver suburbs of Aurora the incident occurred shortly before a shootout happened at the edge of lry apartment's complex the shootout left one person severely injured in a wide range of damaged verles and a an additional clip two men uh with a tire iron were seen bashing a lock and unit at the complex it's been a nightmare and I can't wait to get out of here every day when we come home we have to do this every time we go outside to take out the garbage a former resident said to a news Outlet while showing off her five blocks and door security bar jamama every time we go to bed at night we have to keep uh like this so that nobody can kick the door in as of now the authorities have confirmed that if the government in the video were members of The Notorious Trend Aura cartel but council members Danielle jinsky has stated that the renell gangs have taken over the apartment complex while addressing the violent situation jurasinski all started with a gang takeover so yeah hold on a second the morning so this is brand new video uh obtained here at Fox 31 this is at an apartment complex in Aurora showing men with long guns and pistols in their hands this is at an apartment building and a pretty concerning video that is now going viral on social media national news is picking this up but we've been following this locally for weeks and we have questions city council members and people living in the area claim this is part of a gang Takeover in several parts of the city those claims now getting national attention so we wanted to when you see this video uh what do you think because I don't live in Aurora but I think to myself holy cow if I lived in Aurora I'd be freaking out right now well it's you know let me put in context first this concern that it's three apartment complexes but that's that's not to minimize it at all but we're you know the 51st largest city in I get to our top story America over 400,000 in population and so but there are three Department complexes that we believe in that they're where there is a concentration of Venezuelan migrants and the criminality is unfortunately followed um and uh so we have a a task force uh with local um state and federal our federal law enforcement Partners working on it to to root uh these um criminals out and and and get them off this get them off the streets uh but but it certainly concerns me but U but it is with in three uh apartment complexes America over 400,000 in population and so but there are three complexes that we I want the truth um we need the Border close close that [ __ ] border these [ __ ] are taking over the projects they I mean they they they doing a lot they taking over the projects um I change my talk about it talk that [ __ ] V I don't
