last night the Lloydminster RCMP responded to a call for a well-being check and found three people dead the bodies were found in a home on 50th Street and 47th AV on the Saskatchewan side of Lloydminster police have called it a triple homicide but have not confirmed the victims or official cause of death September 11th 2024 at approximately 551 p.m. uh Lloyd Minister RCMP responded to a call of a well-being check in the vicinity of 50th Street and 47th Avenue upon entering the residence members located three deceased individuals at this time we will not be releasing or confirming the identities before moving on I want to give my sincere apolog sincere condolences on behalf of the entire Detachment to the family friends loved ones of these individuals this is a profound loss of life for their family and for the wider Community the increased police presence around the area where the murders occurred is due to the fact that the incident is currently being investigated by the Alberta RCMP Major Crimes unit I want to be very clear to everybody there is no immediate concern for Public Safety while I understand seeing um seeing more police presence can cause concern for folks this is because we have people diligently working hard excuse me to uh to to uh solve this crime I want to assure you that they're here to bring a swift resolution to these murders despite the nature of the deaths the Lloydminster RCMP have said that the public is not at risk and the incident was targeted all I can indicate is that that it's it's not a random act this isn't somewhere where we're looking at at this time it doesn't appear to be a random act so we're not the general public is if they're not involved in this type of activity or any types of criminal activity and I'm again I'm not saying these were criminals at all I don't I I don't know the investigation but generally it's when it's targeted there's there's a reason what that reason is that's what the investigation has to determine anyone who has information about the murders is encouraged to call the lyminster RCMP at 780 888400
