right it does mean something man so let me ask you this before we get into it man before we get into to it why do you think that there is so much hype and hoopla around this game right now because a week ago nobody cared about what Arkansas was doing nobody cared about Arkansas going to Oklahoma State to play y'all what what is it about this game that has everybody's antennas pointed up now what is it about this Arkansas Team what do you think that everybody saw on this Arkansas Team last week that makes this game such a national game right now Bobby patrino putting up a 70 burger and going 10 for 10 for 10 touchdowns that's it yeah that'll do it 60% of the time every time yeah you're right about that man and I mean a lot of people did not know that Bobby patrino still had it I mean of course they saw what he did last year at Texas A&M but but Jimbo had his hands tied you know what I mean he couldn't he could not run the offense the way he really wanted to with Jimbo down his neck and micromanaging but now that Sam Pitman has allowed him to ingratiate himself into this Arkansas offense we see the fruits of that labor um I mean the ball was distributed everywhere last week our leading our leading receiver last week was our fourth option in Isaac Tesla I bet a lot of people don't even know that that dude that dude look good I'm sorry that dude look good Isaac Tesla is a player but he's can you believe he's our fourth option we have three receivers in front of him yeah that's what we're about to get into tonight man so what what excites you the most about this game from an Oklahoma State perspective bro just the the media exposure that it's getting right with OU and Texas being gone I'm under no disillusionment that that is going to have some sort of NE negative ramifications right in the viewership and the dollar bills so as many games like this as the Big 12 can get it it's going to be huge as long as we take advantage of them right so like you mentioned earlier couple weeks ago this was just a a game on the schedule for both squads right yeah and now it's kind of morphed into this big thing but I do think the fact that Sam Pitman is an Oki has a part to do with it the fact that we've been competing against each other for a lot of recruits for years has something to do with it yeah I mean I mean right now wherever we recruit fertile areas we're having to recruit against Arkansas to the 2026 class there's five guys that have both Oklahoma State and Arkansas and some of their first uh you know top list of offers so yeah this isn't going to change anytime soon yeah the difference is y'all are in the SEC there is a perception of the SEC because the SEC has earned that perception over over the years right yeah but the big 12 has to escape a negative perception for all the great that OU did for the conference they also went like 0 for eight in their big bll games that were for a national title implication as well yeah so with ou came that negative stigma that the Big 12 can get there they can't never win it well and then TCU has their magical run they beat Michigan but then they get dominated so bad by Georgia that nobody cares they beat Michigan and once again it went back to that perception of the Big 12 can get here but they can never win here yeah so it if Arkansas beats one of the top Big 12 contenders that's not a good look for the Big 12 right so let me ask you this with what other than Colorado what were the other new teams that were added to the Big 12 that you anticipate would uh make a little bit of noise you know what I mean who is who is Colorado and when do do you feel the impact do y'all feel the impact of Colorado in the Big 12 right now I mean to some degree yeah like you know he's so Brazen in some of his press conferences and some of the things that he says that it is exposure right a a a very long time ago somebody once said that sometimes bad publicity can still be good publicity I don't know that I I don't know that I fully sign up to that idea but Dion does say some crazy things and it it does put the big 12 in a spotlight now the more crazy he becomes the less I wonder if the spotlight is a good thing um but on top of Colorado you know Utah is the darling of the conference everybody's talking about Utah which from our angle is kind of disrespectful right yeah yeah the only team in the Big 12 to ever win more games than us is OU not Texas so we should be the leaders of the conference but nobody's given us that respect everyone's talking about Utah for sure this is yet another game where it does feel slightly disrespectful to see the line move so much and to have so many people pick in Arkansas but I think it's good for us I think it's good for you guys and at the end of the day it's good for college football you know man um if you hadn't noticed um there was actually some uh movement in the line today so apparently it's right at uh I believe it's at 9 right now 9 half it went from 10 to 7 to 9 which means that Vegas had Oklahoma State until y'all put up a 70 burger and then the money went hard on Arkansas yeah and then in the last 24 hours the money's gone back up on Oklahoma State so I mean that's that's a storyline in and of itself yeah it is and I mean that's that's what that's why I wanted to have you on man my goal is to have a a contributor from every team this season man and you you were first on my list man I I'm glad you were able to get on to the show man because this is going to be a good conversation bro so absolutely just to get into it man the first the first serious question that I have for you because I know that in in Oklahoma State country in in Still Water y'all are very confident in y'all's team um from an Arkansas standpoint we're very confident in our team to a certain degree but there is a bit of I would say fantasy that's going on with the Arkansas Razer back Community right now because I feel like a lot of fans are losing losing sight of reality the reality is that we are a previous 4 and8 team that just beat what everybody's calling the worst team in college football by 70 points then on the other hand you have Oklahoma state which is the reigning Big 12 Champion am I correct no we lost to Texas I see lost toas there I see what you did there I'm just saying man I'm just saying so but I mean they are the runner up I mean in all seriousness they are the runner up so you have this Dynamic running back in Ali Gordon II then you have the seventh year you know what I mean uh do it all and um dang I got him I got his I got his um his his his uh information right here I forget his name what's y'all's quarterback's name man Allan craw daddy Bowman baby yes Bowman so what is it about this team that makes you all so confident especially with the game that y'all had last week what what makes you guys so confident in what you have on your team right now that makes you so sure that Arkansas won't necessarily be compete be able to compete with you guys well I certainly expect Arkansas uh to be competitive what I would say is one of the biggest reasons that everybody is so excited is not only because of the size right and and I will admit there's been some Arkansas offensive linemen that have talked about the size of Oklahoma State being SEC so we do appreciate some of the players right recognizing that that's part of it man for 15 years Mike Gundy talked about how we really didn't get very many 300 Pounders at Oklahoma State and it was true we did right but now our too deep as full of those same guys that we used to not be able to get then you got to factor in the 20 returning starters 91% of the roster the fact that we have 36 seniors 16 red shirt Juniors so basically we're a team of covid cowboys buddy yeah a lot of these guys you're not just talking about seniors a lot of these are sixth year seventh Year guys they just are so yeah it it's hard to assume that this much uh returning production cannot equal at least the same amount of success as last season which was uh a double digit year right now this kind of leads kind of this kind of piggybacks off of the first question that I had the big picture so looking at both teams rosters do you think Oklahoma state is better position to challenge Arkansas or will the SEC speed and physicality be too much for you guys do you think that the speed the physicality of what we are and kind of talking about the the defensive line and the offensive lineman that you have as far as what you guys have been able to get over the past few years do you think that we are going to overpower you guys in any way no no no not from a size or a strength perspective my my biggest concern is the speed right if I'm G to be 100% honest with you everybody's talked about adium how our defensive backfield has at times leaked like a SI right man and and part of that is because of the aggressive nature of the defense so we're going to take a lot of risk the problem with taking risk is if you don't get there you got something to make up in the back end and and last year I don't know that we had enough speed to counterbalance that if you watch the big 12 title game that's what Texas had on us right yeah so if we didn't get to Xavier worthy within the first tackle we probably weren't going to get it right Arkansas from a size perspective and and uh um a strength perspective that's no longer a concern but the speed is still a question and for as good as South Dakota state is fundamentally they didn't have enough speed to test us deep so we don't really still know what that what that's going to look like yeah okay so we got some Oklahoma State fans in here man they say 4117 Oklahoma State o that's an ugly score hey we we all got to start pregaming a little early all right man my main man Puglia Puglia said y'all have 17 players on y'all's roster on on y'all's roster 300 PBS plus right now wow yeah and we have like 11 that are 295 listed as 295 and you and I both know that there's usually about a seven to eight pound swing one way or the other yeah and another thing that I find exciting is if you look at our our dep tart right that we came up the the the week one dep chart I'm gonna let a cat out of the bag maybe I ain't supposed to but talk talk to us on average dude we list our guys like 11 to 12 pounds lighter than they really are I'm I'm assuming that is that is somewhat strategic because usually you go the other way right yeah like usually you want to brag you want to brag about having 250 pound linebackers we don't we have some of our linebackers listed at like 225 I don't know why we're they have um they have a few of y'all's guys listed at about 225 like um Nick Martin Kendall Daniels pretty much y'all's y'all's entire interior linebackers like are listed around that that area but they look a little bit thicker than that you know what I mean d kennel Daniels kenel Daniels is walking around campus at 2:45 easy without eating anything yeah man we're about to get into it man cuz I got I got a few more Graphics I want to talk to about bro because hey I'm I'm I'm I promise you I'm here for this I I I made my schedule around tonight so I'm here for all of it brother all right cool well let's get into it man so some of the key matchups bro which matchup do you see as the biggest Difference Maker in this game Oklahoma State's defensive line versus Arkansas's Run game or Arkansas's secondary versus Oklahoma State's passing attack I think I'd have to go the the secondary against the passing attack because you guys are going to try to well you guys are going to be good enough to do some things to slow Oly Gordon down right yeah and if you do that from a numerical perspective there's only been one team that has ever been able to play manto Man the entire game and not have to load the box right and that was Texas last year in the Big 12 title game that's the only team that we've that we've played with olle Gordon that uh you know didn't didn't have to load the Bucks so it'll be pretty crucial for you guys as well if you do have to put an extra guy in the Box to stop Oly Gordon if your secondary is going to be able to handle our wide receiver core because for say whatever people want about the Big 12 or about our offensive coordinator but wide receivers has been something Oklahoma State's been putting in the NFL regularly a year over-year clip so if anybody is questioning the wide receiver Court of Oklahoma State I I would caution that move all right man so let's get into some of these Graphics man let me make sure I get you in here so now people would rather look at Bowman I promise so we're about to get into some of these graphics and we're gonna talk to we're gonna talk to to to these players that that Oklahoma state has now I already know what Arkansas has in tailing green but tell tell the Arkansas audience about Alan Bowman tell us some things about Alan Bowman that we may not know we know he's a seventh year guy we know that he's a red shirt senior he's been here for a long time he has the experience under his belt but what are the intangibles that he's going to bring to the game that may set him apart from taing Green well they're two entirely different quarterbacks right for one ton green 66 230 Alan Bowman's not quite that guy and Allan Bowman might be a little slower than than than ton green um no he had some is issues fundamentally right in the pocket from how to kind of get set up and not overextend and not get that back hip off of that that line so technically he had some issues to deal with another thing that I don't think people realize is he did have to take like three years off of football so he played a couple years at Texas Tech yeah then he had a bunch of injuries and then he kind of tried to make it work at Michigan and then he comes to Oklahoma State and there was a running like pool week to week last year on when he was going to get hurt and it didn't happen so wow that's terrible I'm just I'm being real with you man the the guy was made of glass uh between his stops at at Texas Tech and Oklahoma State but if you also notice at Texas Tech he could run really yeah I I didn't see him play at Texas Tech so I don't know I didn't know that I didn't know he had any type of mobility in my opinion that was part of his problem was last year whenever the pocket would kind of break down or pressure would come through the a gaps old Allen Bowman was like oh I can run for a first down yeah 40 40 Allen Bowman not quite the same right although he did he did he did put the uh he did put the old the old juke move on uh on OU in bedum that was kind of fun but he had to improve in the pocket if he did not improve in the pocket he was going to be the same guy launching crap up off true sorry about that man that was my graphic dude that's cool Alan Bowman will always be the record holder for the most yards thrown in the stands okay this year he had to have fix that we thought we saw it in the spring we thought we saw it in the fall and from week one against SDSU we did see he wasn't bailing backwards he wasn't throwing off his back foot too often he wasn't throwing the ball in the stands M that's what we needed to see now the question is will it carry over now I did hear you earlier today uh on your um most recent release on uh your locked on podcast you were saying that you got you heard some Rumblings out of practice that kind of settled your nerves about this game man can you go into a little bit more detail about that yeah dude so last week the Wednesday practice was slightly problematic because our first team offense was giv up a decent amount of like sacks and tackles for a loss we cleaned that up we didn't let anybody basically even touch alen Bowman last week right so it was concerning but we cleaned it up okay this Wednesday's practice was the exact opposite there wasn't a lot to to clean up except for the physical altercation it didn't quite get fist of cuffs level but it was the most intense physical practice we've had in a long time I'm hearing that it was even more intense than some of the practices we had last year coming into bedum if that's true if that's true I like our chances because I'm sure Arkansas is planning on coming out and trying to punch Us in the mouth repeatedly right sure absolutely and I mean and from what I've gathered is our players are welcome that challenge and they can't wait for it so that slobber knocker that Sam Pitman was alluding to we embrac that and we're ready for it and this is an SEC challenge to prove it okay well that statement leads me into this next player Ali Gordon thei the 6'2 Junior out of Fort Worth Texas went to Ulus Ulus Trinity so this is the man of the hour this is the guy that y'all's entire offense revolves around he gets you guys going yeah he gets you guys going I mean anytime your running back is carrying the ball 28 times in a game yeah I mean come on man let let's be real about it now I I did notice this on Monday his stats were 28 carries and 101 yards or 104 yards what's up with what's up with ESPN patent and stats bro now he's at 28 126 yards what's up with that man he was just at 3.5 yards a carry now he's at 4.5 what's going on with that so that swing pass that he he scored on from like 20 22 or something like that 22 yards out uh after the game they said that that was behind the line of scrimmage ah okay oh I thought they were just out here padding stats bro like I'm like what in the heck is going on so so let me ask you this man as far as as far as coach Styles Mike gundy's been at Oklahoma State for a super long time bro Sam Pitman is what in his fifth year at Arkansas who do you think is going to have the edge in this game and and I won't even I won't even say sam Pitman but from a coaching standpoint who do you think is going to have the edge in this game from a coaching perspective Bobby petrino's offense or Mike Gundy well I mean Mike Gundy does have the experience over Sam Pitman from a record perspective youd have to go with Mike Gundy I my biggest concern is our coordinators right I'm a massive believer in our defensive coordinator he's a super young cat but the transition for him last year was kind of Hit and Miss yeah he did help us win quite a few games in the fourth quarter but the first three quarters he gave up a lot so if it's a Sam Pitman versus Mike Gundy thing I got Mike Gundy all day but if it's a Bobby patrino versus Brian Nardo situation or a or a Casey Dunn versus a t- will situation that's where it gets a little bit more problematic because Bobby Pino I don't care what nobody says dude Bobby patrino is a certified OG triple OG when it comes to calling offenses indeed indeed our defensive coordinator has had issues at times with what I would call above average offensive coordinators okay this is going to be his biggest test I think yet oh for sure because you had to understand last week when Arkansas played uapb we were running vanilla offense there was nothing exotic about anything that we did we ran a few toss plays we ran a few Zone plays uh we ran a few mesh Concepts I mean there was nothing out out of the ordinary but this week is going to be different this week is going to be more so a showcase for Bobby patrino and the toys that he has on that Arkansas offensive side of the ball jinon Jackson played at Utah last year and did not get a lot of credit for the work that he did carrying that pill that man he was if if jaquin and Jackson can stay healthy and I'm not saying that he's an oi Gordon by any means but what I will say is that Jinan Jackson when healthy is a thousand yard running back I think quinnon Jackson is extremely underrated I was equal parts happy to see him leave Utah but also kind of frustrated right yeah but um yeah I know this game's going to be important for him because of the olle Gordon stuff yeah there's gonna be a lot of eyes on olle Gordon every single week right so if somebody from the opposing team has a massive game it's going to be beneficial so if somebody like uh J Quin and Jackson can match olly Gordon if they both put up a buck 30 yeah then that puts him on that that same ped pedestal for a draft analysis and and I like that the problem is we have this dude named Nick Martin that is a um a cruise missile waiting to happen at running back no at linebacker waiting for your running back as a matter of fact let's get let's get into let's get into a little bit of Nick Martin Nick Martin's about to say come on with it let's get into a little bit of Nick Martin I'm glad you said that let me see if I can find his graphic man is this Nick Martin it is Nick Martin all right so now before we get into Nick Martin let me see what Mr tww said Mr tww said hey ain't this the guy who was all wall they they've heard the noise they have something to prove okay all right all right so let me see Jackson versus Rucker Oliver Martin and Daniels will be fun do you know Logan do you know Logan witson is that one of your guys lo you got the pokes in here tonight man they came to see we try we we try to travel deep since y'all are making the trip to us oh man what is his name Puglia or Puglia Puglia hlia said longest throw green had was 34 yards after the last place uapb defense was in the field for 10 minutes in the first quarter against a power four team what what does that mean Alan Bowman's longest pass was 58 yards come on now huge difference whoopy dooo whoopy dooo puga I mean come on now let's be honest who's the most dynamic quarterback between Alan Bowman and tailing green let's be honest who's the most dynamic I think that I think that from from an athletic standpoint and from a Dynam from a dynamic standpoint ton green is much more ha has much more upside in my opinion now as far as Alan Bowman is concerned all of his like you you said earlier all of his scrambling days are behind him you know what I mean there is nothing that he's going to do in that Arena the only thing that he can do is pray pray that pray that his protection holds up and pray that he doesn't have to run more than five yards to get out of a bad situation that's all he can do now on the other hand maybe let's let's say that um let's say that y'all's defensive line y'all's three-headed monster you know what I mean Colin clay and Iman and and all those guys are able to create pressure on the interior of our defensive I mean of our offensive line who do y'all have on the edge that's going to be able to stop him or keep him in containment because y'all run a 335 this is where we get into the Nick Martin conversation this is where we get into the the the the the dynamic Trio of of linebackers that y'all have I gonna say let's get into it bro because y'all you know they have them listed at 20 PBS 30 pounds lighter than they really are so these guys are defensive ends in linebacker numbers in bodies like come on man I know not what I know not what you speak of so let's get into it and so the dynamic Trio Nick Martin uh Kendall Daniels and uh is it cam Smith Colin Oliver baby that's the guy Colin Oliver you're right so let's get into it man first tell us about Nick Martin and what he brings to the game man well he led the Big 12 last year in tackles had 140 tackles uh he was he was up there in sacks tackles for loss Oklahoma State obviously um he had 87 solo tack he was somebody who came in right a three star guy that was a little bit under sized coming in I think he was like a 6 foot 205 maybe and um he had to kind of you know learn and get bigger and the speed the speed was always there so Mike Gunnies talked about why they picked up Nick Martin and it was because athletically if he could put on a little bit of size he was going to be a very rare individual right yeah and that that's the cas you can look at his lower body and tell he has some speed I mean look at those calf muscles he he doesn't have very very thick trunks you know what I mean thick thighs I mean PA Nick Martin Nick Martin doesn't run with the linebackers in practice Nick Martin runs with the safeties really that's interesting okay so he's a speed demon last week he had a sack he had a pass deflection he had 10 total tackles so he's all over the place bro I mean I'm I'm I'm I'm gonna have my eye on Nick Martin personally the Taylor Made pick really yeah he it was one of those deals where you could tell like his eyes got big like it was a cheeseburger and he jumped he thought the pass was going to be above his head and he jumped and it came right to his chest wow then let's see what PH and OKC is saying number 30 Colin Oliver we're gonna get to Colin Oliver in just a second then Earthman says LOL you pigs are funny the the disrespect the unmitigated I mean come on now dog come on man the unmitigated go of you pokes man come on now all right so now who is the next guy you want to talk about man because I had I had a list of questions I wanted to ask you but the conversation is getting too juicy well so if you you mentioned contain right you got our big guys Justin Kirkland Aman o Colin clay contain so on one side we have two in extremely athletic guys that still struggle to some degree with creating pass rush but contain is not typically an issue because speed is their Forte that would be Deshawn Brown and Jalil Johnson but Colin Oliver was a All-American two years ago as a pass rusher last year we converted him to linebacker and it took him a little bit to figure it out and then the latter half of the Season he made the adjustment and it was a big deal M this year he's that guy he's going back up closer to the line he's going to be bailing in coverage significantly less and if you noticed last week he leads the nation now in quarterback hurries already yeah I and and this is the conversation I think I had Wednesday when I was doing y'all's player profiles this seems to be that that edge rusher in the 335 you know what I mean you're going to have three down lineman you're going to have uh a standup uh linebacker SL Ed rusher and you're going to have two interior linebackers and and this is the this is the guy that's coming off the edge that's what I saw yeah so I mean look at how big he is you can tell he used to be something other than a linebacker he's huge I mean corre just just his entire physique you can tell that he he is more than just a linebacker I mean I feel like this is a guy that can put his fingers in the dirt if need be you know what I mean well that's what he was that's what he was doing and if you go back to like betham of 20221 he was the guy who who sacked Caleb Williams to win the game yeah and it was he was a speed freak he had 11 and a half sacks as a true freshman oh gosh yeah I I I ran those stats down but he was so fast we decided maybe we try him at linebacker and like I said it was a mixed bag yeah um he did he did Pretty good overall but is his position in the NFL linebacker probably not so what do you think he would play in NL Che him back up to the line more this year okay okay so y'all are kind of trying to convert him back into that that kind of like a um a hybrid you know what I mean Von Miller baby Von Miller okay I got you okay so let me see if I can get into some of these comments man uh there was somebody that had three letters for y'all earlier man and I think they were UCF slim pigin said UCF baby y'all had issues with UCF last year Gus Malone was able to cook something up to contain Oli Gordon pretty good so what do you think it is about that game do you think that Arkansas is not watching that film bro do you think that we're not studying that do you think that Arkansas is able to replicate that yeah I think this that that's when you asked in the very beginning what one of the other reasons why we would be uh confident uhhuh is because of the veteran leadership but because of things like this right you got to remember last year we'd won six in a row including bedum and then we lost to UC F I think that we got a little too high on the hog and we didn't have enough veteran leadership to bring us back down to reality and and I think UCF we we walked in a little bit too cocky they got up quick then it started raining and then we had to put Allen Bowman in a position where he had to throw us out of a loss and it wasn't gonna happen so tell us about this guy right here man who is Kendall Daniels and what does he bring to the table because I saw that he isn't as decorated as Nick Martin and Colin Oliver but what does Kendall Daniels bring to the table is he going to be in the interior or is he one of those hybrid guys as well he's more of a hybrid guy so his his his story is kind of fascinating hey how about you be quiet huh thanks thanks a bunch you're not paying attention that's what's going on um yeah he he was a big time get he was the Oklahoma player of the year he was the number one ranked player in the state of Oklahoma he originally went to Texas A&M but they let him out of his Loi early because you know him and his family realized that he can accomplish most everything he wanted to in still water and then he showed up he was an All-American early yeah last year he take he took a huge step backwards and I I think a lot of it was instead of him being able to just simply rely on his athleticism read react and fly last year he became the communication guy so he was in charge of disseminating all of the information in the back end and getting people where they need to be and this and that and the other well then he went from 205 PBS to 215 PBS to 250 PBS wow so is his nick name the Predator yes yeah that's what Puglia said y yep and uh so he just Why did they put so much weight on him bro it just I guess naturally like you know he got he got in the wait room and it was going so easy that they were having to kind of basically slow down some of the nutrition for last year and that and then with some conversations with NFL Scouts this is where they see him as a linebacker in the NFL so we just we we we went ahead made that transition I will admit that it's it's still hit Miss with him moving to linebacker okay he does get he does get caught in the wash some times with eye discipline um so he is susceptible at times but here is where um I think Aransas may play into his hands now let me let me ask you this bro I mean yeah of course of course we all have our star players um I mean who are the players that we have not discussed up to this point like Nick Martin the Kendall Daniels the Colin Olivers uh the Ali Gordon who is y'all's exactor on offense that Arkansas should be aware of that may not be a household name dejon striblin okay let me see if I can find desan because because I got his graphic up he had 85 yards last week if I'm not mistaken right yeah so he was our leading receiver last year the first three week or first four weeks then he got injured he came over from Washington State right and um he's got like 1,350 eight yards so far in his career 11 touchdowns so he's been productive but last year he he kind of went through a little bit of an a big time injury issue uhhuh so for him to start his season the way he did the other day very very encouraging yeah you just put up the the stats there yeah he had a big day and that is a big day bro six receptions for 83 yards your averaging 13.8 that's a first down per catch and your longest was 27 I mean of course you want to see The End Zone but anytime you're averaging a first down a catch you're winning you know what I'm saying right yeah everyone talks about Brennan Presley because Brennan Presley's been here for years he's part of the the the guy who helped us win 2021 bedum and last year's bedum and he's a Oklahoma kid that's put up over like 4,000 yards in his career he's gonna have an opportunity to make an NFL roster but the most surfire NFL ready I think is still djon stribling even with all of that production that Bren prely has yeah I mean you got to think about it he has the he has the NFL frame 6'2 220 225 I mean that's an NFL receiver you know what I mean anything above 62 63 you're you're pretty much going to get drafted if you have any type of athleticism you know what I mean but the playmaker on y'all's team is a little 5 foot five botht of lightning named Brennan Presley so tell us about this kid man and what what he brings to the Oklahoma State table he's what you would take it's what you would consider uh a pretty freakish athlete with that absolute dog mentality yeah I can see that he's got the little man syndrome that there it is there it is right he he he was he was also he was Oklahoma Gatorade player of the year he was a big time recruit coming out of high school him being undersized obviously was a little bit of a question but he came in and was able to play as a freshman at that size yeah and again Casey Dunn develops wide receivers on a very regular basis so right the fact that he was able to contribute as a freshman kind of let us all see that he was going to be something early yeah but yeah he just refuses to be tackled which is kind of rare out of a slot wide receiver and he has enough athleticism and speed to make you pay let me pause and we're going to get right back to that so I got 113 Presley is his matchup his matchup is going to be I believe Deno Slaughter Deno Slaughter is a transfer that we got in from Tennessee um I don't necessarily know what his coverage is like but I do know that he's one of the fastest people on our team um they've clocked him at over 22 miles per hour and and that's pretty much standard these days you know what I mean especially when when you're talking about speed um well it's standard for like the top tier yeah you know what I mean it's far as the people that we consider fast on a football team um what do you what what is is Brennan Presley more fast or is he a route technician does he use his speed to get open or does he use his route running ability to get open what is it that he does that makes him so dynamic his speed used to get him open now it's the route Concepts but it's not just the route Concepts so here's another little fun wrinkle what Allan Bowman did bring over from Michigan that Oklahoma state did not use pre previously was the option route Concepts uhhuh right and your your quarterback and your wide receivers have to be on the same page on option route Concepts because if you're not that equals a lot of interceptions yeah it's going to be it's going to be a bad day the implementation of the option rout Concepts has allowed Brennan Presley's quickness to do some some crazy things so I I'll put it in perspective for of visually in the last game the first touchdown right he he ran a route wherever he broke in like a like a pivot route right and then when he went to plant and pivot out he rep pivoted and he flipped his hips twice to freeze the safety and then still went on the opposite out pivot route yeah so saw that play two years ago Bri Presley was not doing stuff like that gotcha okay now he's not only doing it but he's on the same page with Alan Bowman that in the Red Zone it's really difficult as a DB right yeah because your what the DB did for South Dakota state was fundamentally accurate he attacked the right hip based off of where the planting foot was coming at right right right but then he got juked out of his own move yeah but I mean Brennon Presley slippery bro i' I tried to watch a little bit of film on it man at 5 fo8 you're already hard to see you know what I mean but let you have a little bit of athleticism to you let you have a little bit of slippery to you man you you can be dangerous I think that he I think that he could possibly have a big day tomorrow because he's in the slot you know what I mean um our our linebackers are going to have to cover him most of the time or Deno Slaughter's going to have to cover him most of the time he's he's going to be running the underneath routes he's going to be the guy that catches the ball and tries to get the rack yards you know what I mean um stribling he's very deadly very deadly in the return game too okay all right so oh yeah I did see that he has almost like uh the Oklahoma State return record or something crazy like that right he he's gonna have a chance to end up with it yeah okay all right so let's you're about guys like tylon Wallace and Justice Hill and Tyreek Hill yeah that's crazy yeah yeah that's crazy now let's get into the defensive side of the ball bro because my this this is the big this this side of the ball is the biggest question mark that I have for y'all bro let's get into Trey Rucker Trey Rucker LED y'all's team last week with 15 tackles he didn't have any sacks he didn't have any pass deflections or interceptions so this guy sounds to me me like he's in the Box he's going to be in the Box playing the Run what is it that we should know about Trey Rucker man that's been his bread and butter right you you know how every coach talks about how you got to have a couple guys on the team that play with Reckless abandon yep and they don't they don't care what happens to their body right they don't care if they they don't care if they tell te 73 acl's that's Trey Rucker gotcha he does he does not care he jump over the line through the line out of bounds oh wow you might pop your coach in the mouth on accident in the process he's just that dude man gotcha that's Deno Slaughter too that he's our Deno Slaughter then he does have a propensity getting burnt deep if you look last year the latter half of the Season every team that burnt us deep was either picking on Trey Rucker or kennel D yeah that's going to that's going to be the biggest thing that I see that we can explo on y'all's defense I don't know how much Colin Klay has developed since he left Arkansas Colin clay was at Arkansas before he came to Oklahoma State then y'all picked up AJ Green who unfortunately got hurt is he out for the season he was he was killing it in the spring bro bro he was a beast at Arkansas they they just wouldn't give him the time of day you know what I mean that's the unfortunate part because a player like AJ Green should have never had to leave Arkansas because he could be utilized right now he could possibly be our number two right now you know what I mean but they went and got brillan Russell they went and got uh uh the kid from Florida State uh Rodney Hill so it's unfortunate that he got hurt man because he was definitely going to be a baller for y'all man so yes he was so let's let's talk about let's talk about um what's his name black uh Corey black let's get up let's get let's get Cory black in here man let me see if I can pull his his info up Cory up against broaden baby that's that's going to be a tall is he y'all's number one oh yeah he's not going up against Broden in he's he's gonna have to see Andrew Armstrong no our best wide receiver didn't even yeah yeah we it's unreleased right now but he it's highly probable that he's gonna play tomorrow that's our number one receiver that was our leading receiver last year so tell us about Cory black what what impact does he have on the defensive side of the ball because he doesn't have a lot of he doesn't have a lot of accolades man I mean uh he's very undecorated to be a senior he didn't red shirt so he had to play you know what I mean what is it that Cory black brings to the table and then he had an interception last week um he used to get away with a lot of ticky Tac stuff right so he did play as a freshman and he played a lot and it carried over he's obviously good enough to to start right right mhm because he he started in two big 12 Title Games okay but the inconsistencies were were an issue and he had to address a lot of that this season what we've heard and what I've been able to see is he's the fastest player on the team now oh wow so he took he took this off seon to improve in the speed category quite a lot okay and so you're talking about the the the track right so we use a catapult system I'm sure you guys use a catapult system as well we do he's one of the few players that can exceed 22 miles an hour exceed 22 miles per hour oh yeah he's fast then bro he's he's very fast so if if if that shows up right if his size and his maturity and his new found speed all finally kind of match up then he'll end up being the corner we always thought he was going to be because playing as a freshman playing in the Big 12 title game beating Notre Dame that that's that was his launching party but since then it hasn't really been it has translated yeah gotcha okay all right so he's gonna be going up against Andrew Armstrong Andrew I'm telling you right now man I fully anticipate that if Andrew Armstrong plays he's gonna have a big game bro he's got a lot to prove especially from last year because KJ Jefferson didn't serve our offense just he didn't do our offense Justice last year KJ I'm just saying I'm just saying he did not do our offense Justice last year so our receivers like satania like uh broaden like Andrew Armstrong never really had the opportunity to shine now that they have a dynamic quarterback who is more more able to read a defense and pass the ball I'm not saying that ton green is a world beater because he had damn near as many interceptions last year as he had touchdowns you know what I'm saying so I'm not oblivious to that but what I'm saying is that he brings something different to the table within this offense because Bobby patrino is going to make sure that his guys are always in position to be successful the only way that they're not going to be successful is if they're out of position or if the defense is just schemed up so well that they cause error you know what I mean so we're going to see how it goes but I fully anticipate that Cory black is going to have his hands full with Andrew Armstrong tomorrow I I certainly do hope that it's Andrew Armstrong simply because from a Oklahoma State fan base perspective for us to have the season we want to have right to win the Big 12 title game go to the cfp Cory Black's got to be a big part of it he does so if Cory black has not taken a pretty decent step forward Ward then I you know I I do think it diminishes some of the likelihood that we make it to the cfp I would agree with that Cy black against good competition yeah I would agree with that because if this is y'all's number one guy he has to be great you know what I mean he he has to be great in order for you guys to have any type of ceiling to make it into that 12 team playoff you know what I mean now that they're 12 teams hell I mean the it's pretty much wide open Nick isn't there anymore of course we got Georgia to replace him but who is that number two who if if if you guys are able to win the Big 12 you guys are pretty much automatically in the playoff you get what I'm saying so unless there's a complete meltdown in the Big 12 where everybody's beating everybody three or four losses a team then y'all are automatically a bid end so there's great opportunity for Oklahoma State from that perspective and and thankfully this isn't a conference game for either of us but it is a huge test early on in the season to see where our teams are you know what I mean so we're we're going to see how this man if if Corey black is getting Arkansas's offensive line needs to be worried about well you guys are are familiar with Colin clay he was one of the top rated players out of the state of Oklahoma whenever we originally went to Arkansas he was developing a lot last year but then he broke his toe so yeah he missed the first few games of last season it was a little bit of a slow transition this year he's up to 330 lbs and his body fat percentages everything is considerably better he's been able to stay healthy so I I think everyone will be pleasantly surprised with the development that you you see Justin Kirkland is kind of The X Factor here amanotes athletically is more gifted than Colin clay and Justin Kirkland but Justin Kirkland can literally bench mountains that's a big boy yeah and he threw up it was uh 225 52 times what yeah that's insane bro 225 50 what times 51 52 times bro that's that's that country Backwoods Utah strength right there bro that that's insane that's crazy so and he he he squats like 640 I think 650 that's insane bro that's insane again when you asked me earlier is Oklahoma State going to be surprised by the size and the strength of Arkansas the Absolut absolutely not I just don't know that if we have enough speed uh that'll be the question and then yeah Aman o is kind of the NASCAR package guy that we'll put in if you're third and long Iman oats Colin Oliver Jalil Johnson are coming in hot okay so this is the lineup right here so this is the lineup we're gonna get into these these matchups who is the Right End who is the Left End we got Colin clay in the middle we got Colin Oliver who are where are these guys actually going to be lined up because we got I'm getting old bro I can't see oh that's Cody Cody Walter shy okay so what does he bring to the table bro Cody Walter side is a 6 foot7 fifth year senior 6 foot seven two 6 foot s 275 lbs 50e senior been in the system for quite some time he's a veteran he understands the of the land he understands how to utilize leverage um and he's a good veteran presence and then on the other side you have there it's DeShawn Brown Deshawn Brown is another one of those guys that athletically he already has it he walked in the building at 6 fo3 265 pounds you get at me yeah it's just it's it's been a question so last year um like I don't remember the exact statistic but there was a metric where he was literally within x amount of inches away from like six sacks wow wow so last year was a microcosm of the Big 12 for Deshawn Brown almost but not quite there and honestly in game one uh the two defensive ends that play that kind of speed package or Deshawn Brown and Jalil Johnson I was very disappointed I I'll just come out and say it yeah um I I don't think I think that was the biggest weakness um over the SDSU game was outside of Colin Oliver we didn't get enough pass rush nobody other than Colin Oliver was getting in the back field regularly so that is problematic right and I talked about that in a couple different shows yeah and the the only hope that we have is that we were be being so vanilla defensively that we're GNA see something drastically different this this game uh because if that defensive line does what they did against SDSU y'all will run all over us and and that is a concern and that begs the question bro why did y'all struggle so much with that team last week because in in in a never in a million years would I have thought that Ali Gordon would have had to have 28 carries to get over a 100 yards bro that's that's crazy what what did they do last week that made y'all struggle don't get me going on my offensive coordinator because then my own fan base is going to start wanting to throat punch me all right no be honest man be honest I've ripped into to Casey Dunn more than enough I've ripped into Casey Dunn so much that ah never mind um what I will say what I will say is this uh what happened I I think offensively is Casey Dunn the lack of imagination and instead of finding a little bit more of a creative or Innovative solution he went with this stubborn eff it just give it to Oli mode yeah I didn't agree with it I didn't appreciate it I didn't like it yeah I I don't think it was a good look um the one thing I will say is it definitely didn't give Arkansas anything to look at from offensive line view true that's true that's true I agree with that and that's what makes me so worried about this game because we don't necessarily know what Oklahoma state has in the bag you know what I mean but then again y'all really don't know what Arkansas has in the bag that Bobby patrino has cooked up for y'all you know what I mean like I can guarantee you that Bobby's been in somebody's basement under that under the stadium watching OU okl I mean not U but Oklahoma State tape for the past few months getting ready for this game so it's going to be interesting to see man the biggest thing that y'all don't know about Arkansas is that our our starting guard actually got hurt so amarian Harris the guy that said left guard right there is actually a backup but the issue is that starter was what Patrick Patrick c yeah Patrick cudas C and basically he had a game last week bro but hell what do you expect against 230 pound interior lineman you know what I mean you're supposed to have a game against those guys so I'm interested to see what this lineup is going to look like what these guys are going to look like against an actual power five offensive line or defensive line you know what I mean like I said I don't know what Colin clay and and and Kirkland are going to bring to the table but I'm definitely interested to see how they respond to the to the up of competition um so we're going to see how it all goes man hey just so y'all's nickel and well who is y'all's slot cornerback and who is y'all's uh free safety up there it does does uh does Rucker play uh free safety or strong safety well so we have a little bit different right we have the the the Rover the Bandit the different the different iterations of it but essentially you you'll have lyric rolls or maybe a well I don't know lyri rolls is supposed to be the dude but he's still kind of coming back off of injury so it'll you'll have Cam EPS at free safety more often than not and then you'll have um uh yeah you mentioned Trey Rucker you'll Trey Rucker playing a lot closer to the line and then in addition to those gentlemen we also have we have Kobe Hilton came over from utap and he he was able to come in in the second half last week and kind of help Shore some things up for us but we do rotate our safeties quite a bit it's more of a a committee style of approach and we do rotate them from different spots to mess up the keys for the quarterback so you might catch Trey playing Rover and then the next snap he'll be at a bandit and then you know he'll rotate back to free safety so we we will do some things defensively that are very confusing for a quarterback the problem last year was it was also confusing for us so we'd get out of position a lot gotcha okay so he's gonna be he's gonna have his hands full man because Tyrone Broden is also a 22 m per hour Runner and uh he's he has the the ability to make highlight real catches I just think that in this Bobby patrino system he's going to be Unleashed I think that these wall up and running down it do you have any concerns about playing bigger and faster guys about that happening and what what do you think or how do y'all think that y'all are going to adjust to try to change it and fix that against bigger heavier faster stronger guys uh from uh the the running back perspective I don't recall seeing them Walling us off and running all over us uh I think they had two big runs all game sounds like a true Oklahoma State fan the first part the first part you're 100% right our offensive line did fold up like an accordion in some times where we definitely should not have the only way that I think we can adjust that is to add some you know additional layers with the fullback to get to that second level because if we can't get to the second level we're probably going to be in for a very long day so yeah my assumption would be that we're going to try to utilize our tight ends and fullbacks to help our offensive lineman get to the second level okay all all right now Focus you got a question I throw something out there Cody um before going into the game last week what was your expectations and what would you say the expectations around the um campus was or around steel water for that game what was y'all was that like a game that good question was like a blowout to y'all or was it a game that y'all was taking more you know serious for the next game y'all was to play no bro a lot of Oklahoma State fans were pretty damn nervous to be honest with you I mean really yeah there's an FCS team but yeah you don't win 29 games in a row by just being a decent team you know what I mean that's true that's true and right just like sometimes it takes a bad team some a little bit of time to learn how to win if you haven't lost a game in 760 days sometimes it takes a little bit to learn how to lose so yeah a lot of Oklahoma State fans were actually extremely nervous about that game um it went close to how I thought I mean my prediction was 4120 coming into the game so I mean we're pretty close to that but I will say that I expected way way way way way more out of our o line and dline that was very our o line and dline were very like 48 hours ago all right this m thing that concerns me if they're just now getting intense going into this game that's a little scary because I guarantee you eight months Arkansas has been intense
