Good morning and a happy Sunday the time now 712 and we are starting out with a check of the tropics. Of course, everyone's interest in the Gulf of Mexico near the Bay of Campeche. We're seeing the possibility of development for what could become a tropical depression or tropical storm within just the next couple of days. So right now, those development chances are high and we continue to see what looks like better organization or development of this cluster of unorganized thunderstorms. They're down towards Mexico's coastline. Now, as we get into the next few days, we're gonna see more defined circulation and that allows a model track which becomes more definitive. So you can see right now, everything is sort of pushing up northwestward towards the Texas coastline and then potentially also western Louisiana. And that's based off of the high pressure that we have locked in place over the gulf. So that upper high in the gulf is gonna help to keep the steering pattern a bit more northwestward and hopefully further from Southeast Louisiana. The next name on the list is Francine. Of course, we haven't had that much activity this hurricane season considering all of the original ideas from a lot of our forecasters. So in invest 91 is probably going to primarily be a rain maker for us on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. And that's going to allow for a southerly breeze with those gusts higher, but actual sustained winds likely between about 15 to 20 miles an hour, which could lead to some minor coastal flooding concerns. So, of course, with a rain maker on top of the one we already had last week and all already saturated ground, we could see the possibility of localized street flood potential. But usually you're gonna have those outer bands setting up on the eastern side of wherever this comes inland. So it's all gonna depend on the official track, which will become more clear as we head into the next couple of days right now. It's absolutely gorgeous outside. I hope you get a chance to maybe enjoy the porch this morning, especially on the North shore sixties. It's been a while since we've seen that. And up beyond Louisiana, you've got some fifties. So it's certainly starting to feel more fall like otherwise on the south shore and down towards the bayou, we've got those seventies across the area. So it's a beautiful start across Southeast Louisiana and of course, a lot of Saints fans excited for our home opener in the dome this afternoon. So anywhere from 65 in mccomb to about 75 at the lakefront, we've got a 10 degree difference there from the North shore to the South shore and that might leave you wanting some P J's coffee. These flavors so excited for fall, it feels like that right now. Of course, this week we are gonna reverse back to our former pattern from last week with more moisture and then the humidity returns as well. But a big divisional game today, if you're headed into the Superdome, you'll have fantastic conditions for tailgating and to get inside the renovated dome itself. Hopefully you won't need that umbrella for anything other than second lining as we head towards the afternoon, upper seventies, then eventually eighties and our overall forecast is going to be really nice and dry as we look at tonight as well. So a few more clouds around but not too many rain chances maybe a cell or two right off the coast as we head later into the evening time frame. But otherwise tomorrow looks fantastic as well. Starting out the work week dry before we do have a few more showers work their way back in maybe late Monday night, primarily south of I 10. And then we'll start to see a more deft circulation on that system and the possibility for additional rain chances as a result of it progressing further north and westward. So we'll be watching that closely, of course as it sets up close to the coastline. But right now we're anticipating a definite jump in rain chances Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday and it looks like this will all be out of here by Thursday into Friday. And then we'll start to have big improvements for the weekend. So again, a great seven day forecast overall, the good news is that with these additional rain chances, we are a little bit cooler as we head towards the middle of the month already. So today, you can expect those eighties, same thing tomorrow And then we'll continue into the lower eighties, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday with again a heightened rain chance as a result of that system in the Gulf, whether or not it develops, we're still gonna have similar impacts. So we'll continue to, of course, keep you posted, just make sure that you stay weather aware. And of course, always a great idea to review your preparation plans.
