Staying on Playa Brava in Tayrona National Park (Beach Hut Tour) // Colombia Travel Vlog

good morning today's video is off to a much much  better start than our last Vlog in Cartagena which   seemed to be rainy and cloudy and gray for the  whole time that we were there but today we are   in tayrona national park because we're actually  spending a night here now to get here we came from   Santa Marta we successfully found the right bus to  take us over here and it only took less an hour to   get to the main entrance and when we got to the  main entrance we discovered that we can cut our   three hour walk to the beach in half by riding on  some motorcycles yeah so for like 20 000 pesos we   just got on the back of a bike and we went on the  bike for 20 minutes and it was honestly amazing   because we're on the bike and honestly I think  it was like almost all uphill it was all muddy   it was so muddy and just like it did not look  like a fun walk at all so we've cut the walk in   half so they dropped us off here we're grabbing  our juice and then I think we've got an hour and   a half ish oh there's also a very adorable small  child here she's wonderful but I think we've got   about an hour and a half of a walk all the way  into the beach that we're staying at tonight   which is called Playa Brava yeah we'll be staying  there tonight and exploring Tayrona from there okay so as we walk to where we are staying tonight  we've come across this wonderful sign which shows   us where in Colombia we are so we're in the  far Northern side of Colombia that's where   Tayrona National Park is and this is actually a  beautiful protected place it's obviously covered   in lush jungle but what it is most well known  for are the pristine and wonderful beaches that   we're hopefully gonna see more of today today  we've entered the park through calabazo entrance   which is a less popular entrance and the hope  is that it takes us to a less crowded Beach this hike so far 10 out of 10. it is  very beautiful although incredibly hot that was not too terrible at all it took us two  hours and we were going pretty slow to be honest   how beautiful is this place I'm so excited so guys I know we just got here but I'm  pretty sure this is Paradise it is gorgeous   here so they have a lot more amenities than  I thought they would but it's just like this   one place that is sitting on this beach  so this is Eco Lodge Playa Brava and we   we got ourselves booked a double room for  tonight I think it was maybe 60 us for the   night I think it ended around 60 US for like  a private not a private washroom but a private   little Hut that's on the beach we'll show you  we'll show you that in a second they're just   getting our room ready okay let me just  show you a little tour there's Nicole at   reception you can buy all the snacks and some  drinks if you want the kitchen's right there   and then they have like the eating area  dining area right here it's super nice oh wow I can't believe this place is like magical walking  here today we barely saw anybody we know that this   place is supposed to be like a much more quieter  Beach than the more popular Cabo San Juan that   we'll see tomorrow but I don't think many people  go here because of the long walk at the beginning   that's honestly totally worth it it wasn't that  long if you get a scooter ride yeah wasn't that   long at all yeah that's right you can also  do hammocks here we got a Hut but I'm just   seeing The Hammocks it looks gorgeous okay this  place is so cool I'm so excited come inside so   it's just one room this is our home for the  night so obviously a bed which looks like a   double bed all the beds in South America seem  to be double beds um but it's got a mosquito   net which we hear the bugs can't get really bad  at night so that's good two chairs oh they Rock   oh a garbage with a lid that's good for the  bugs some hooks there's like Windows I guess   into the jungle into the jungle oh we got two  towels that's nice hey we brought towels but I   guess maybe we didn't need to and then obviously  just like a little table and the roof is made of   branches what do we call that thatch the  roof is made of Nature and then outside   we have like a deck and one hammock  which is pretty cool and then like   come on Nicole and I normally don't spend  a lot of money on like accommodations this   is a bit more pricey than we're used to for  us but honestly it's like sixty dollars us   for something like this on the beach you  can't beat it you can't beat that this is   amazing there's a washroom downstairs let's go  let's go see it let's see what it looks like   so it looks like it's just for us I  thought we'd be sharing a washroom but its like a full washroom with a shower like it has a sink it has a toilet it has  toilet paper it has hooks and a mirror yeah   when we booked it online we thought it was  going to be like a shared washroom and like   we knew the places on the beach can be like a  bit more basic than normal this is really much   nicer than most washrooms we've seen in airbnbs I  swear it's bigger we should have stayed a week we   should have stayed more than one night well we're  gonna enjoy it the weather looks amazing today   um so lucky I'm really ready to jump into that  water you're you look like you've been in the   water that's how wet you are yeah walking in  the jungle is a little bit of a sweaty sweaty   sport okay and the last part of our little  like Piece of Heaven here is it looks like   we've actually got like a spot on the beach that's  covered and has two chairs for us let's go look okay also sometimes you can't swim here at this  beach I guess it's just depending on sort of the   season but there are a bunch of people in the  water right now and the woman who checked us   in said you can go in but she said like it's  gonna go in like up to like your mid section   don't like get in the water these guys are full  swimming though so I don't know maybe it's okay   okay so I think that there's like two these two  little chairs and this cover are honestly they   just for us for our little cabin I'm so excited we  are gonna completely just relax and enjoy the fact   that we got here nice and early it's like noon or  something we have lots of time to enjoy the beach   Mico's one of those people who like gets in water  and all of a sudden he's like six years old again   he just like plays especially in the ocean he can  just play in there all day and be happy as a clam   that water is amazing I love how this place feels  like a private beach and it kind of is because the   only people that are here are people that are  going to Playa Brava you wouldn't really want   to do this on a day trip because it takes so  long to hike in but the water itself is like   pretty strong and they discourage you from  getting too far into the water but you can   kind of go halfway although I jumped straight  in because I needed to wash that jungle Sweat   Right off this is awesome this is like paradise  out here and it feels like it's still just us it sounds like there's only two choices  for lunch it was like the fish or what   Nicole got which is like the carne option  this is grilled fish and it smells so good that's crispy really flavorful and the skin of  the fish is so um like salty and like crunchy   and crispy is there any better food option  when you're near the sea looks so good I just   got meat looks like it's grilled there's a lot  of it here too I do not need this much food oh the rice is so good I'm so hungry oh   wow how do they get this all the way out here like  how do they get this guy out here this is amazing so although it looks like it's probably  gonna rain soon we managed to come back   to the beach really quick and I just thought  I'd make my point again because we came to   the beach Mico got in the water and then sat in  the sand and he's been like digging in the sand   and now there's just sand everywhere around him  which is so classic of Mico to do at the beach ah I think I'm a boring companion on the  beach I'm just reading my book and hanging out but someone should get him a bucket  he can build some sand castles   well this day has gone by in a Flash somehow  it's like 6 30 and we need to go have dinner   already but honestly the beach here has  been so wonderful I'm so impressed with   Playa Brava so far and I'm so so glad that  we chose to spend a night in Tayrona National   Park tomorrow we got lots more of the park  to see we'll be seeing some more beaches   and just seeing generally what Tayrona has  to offer so far off to a great start we're   gonna try and get an early day tomorrow  I think we've got quite a lot of hiking   involved in our day so we're gonna catch  dinner go to bed and we will see you there good morning it is bright and early we got  up nice and early so that we could enjoy   the changing colors of the sky we had a  wonderful sleep we both slept so well I   think it's just like the rhythm of the water  because all you're listening to all night is   the water and it is so dark here now we're  just gonna enjoy this beach a little bit   more this morning before we pack up our stuff and  start walking through more of the National Park time to leave the Oasis this little  Slice of Heaven and get our hike on   I think we have about two and a half  hours of hiking maybe close to three   so we're bracing ourselves thankfully  it's overcast which actually we're very   grateful for because man it is a warm  even though the sun's not actually out all right we see sand I think that might  mean we've come to the end of our hike   we're not exactly sure what beach  this is we're gonna go find out ah that's the nudist beach we won't take the camera at the nudist  beach apparently most people who go here   aren't actually nude but you if you  can be if you would like to be and   we can confirm it is a nudist beach we are  however looking for other types of beaches   so we're gonna keep walking a little  bit further and hopefully come up to   the famous Playa Cabo San Juan Beach here in  Tayrona National Park unless you want to stay walking around Tayrona National Park is  like taking a tour of different beaches   you just go from Beach to beach to Beach  and in between there's nice little jungle   hikes where you can see some nice Lush  trees and some beautiful little lizards holy   wow look at that thing alright welcome to Playa Cabo San Juan  we finally made it oh my God I'm floored   I haven't seen any pictures of this place oh no  no I didn't know it was going to look like this it is so beautiful this is one of the   main reasons you come to Tayrona  National Park to go to this very   picturesque looking Beach unfortunately it  is very busy but as you can see there are   lots of beaches that you can tuck away to  if you want to find some time for yourself all right so we just finished lunch and I  think the weather's starting to turn so what   we're going to do is just put down the camera  and just enjoy the beach and swim and cool off   cool off a little because its still smoking  hot somehow we're still so hot and then I   think we've got about an hour and a half hike  back uh to catch our last bus of the day and   uh yeah so I think we're gonna leave you guys  there so we can go and enjoy this beach we hope   you enjoyed seeing Tayrona national park  with us and we'll see you in the next one   we got somebody crashing our our Vlog the one that  we came to is called calabaza calabazo Mico tells   me because I always forget the name of things the  one that we chose is called calablaza calabazo   there's a big bug on top of it you're  gonna fall over the water's coming oh we still on hi
