of stuff coming on with football tonight we're going to talk depth chart we're going to talk Hypes pressor going to talk uh bu Carter mentioned today today uh we're going to talk recruiting little bit of recruiting happen over the weekend for sure this weekend and it continued on and it really we got more news today on it as well but uh how's it going man pretty good can't complain living the dream first day as a 2024 Master student you said you start tomorrow yep start classes tomorrow yeah no hype mentioned today said could Phil fill the electricity on campus today so you'll have to relay to us what the electricity is like tomorrow I will do so I'm sure you'll be following PR ni around trying to get all the scoops on him tomorrow and yeah all day long all day long so all right well hope relay to us what you get on that if you get any scoops on that along the I'll try not to hurt him all right yeah we need him healthy need him healthy in a couple weeks for sure on here got a few here in the chat already so we'll uh we'll kind of go a little out of the gate here got old moonshine in house maybe we get me Drinker maybe we can get Cider King and maybe we get a Beer Drinker in here we get hit all of them here tonight Matt Stone says sick of smokey got member of Channel Papa J what's up Papa J already tired of the political ads Amen on that U and he says Go Big R that's like every time that's what I'm like on Twitter I I don't want to see all of it created that house of orange page to be Sports free but you have so many so much political I mean whatever everybody's entitled their opinion I don't really care but I don't need to see every repost and stuff of everything that's on there I'm I'm over at this point ready for it to be gone but um we'll hit depth chart later we'll let the audience build up here a little bit but uh got Tom Odell he said I'm here all right we can rock and roll now Tom there we go Tom good to see you Tom glad you're in here with us tonight um let's hit recruiting first let's hit recruiting big big weekend for Tennessee Man David Sanders Jr in the fold um I saw according to the alltime rankings on it he ranked number two all time you remember who's number one um it was the running back I just can't I can't remember his name now now that you total total dud wasn't he he he was he was flaky I think because of I don't think it was a talent issue I think it was just more you know he came to Tennessee under kein um montario Hardesty was the main running back that year Bryce Brown got carry did good in the time he got the carries um but then he transferred to what see duy come in he transferred to Kansas state did make it to the NFL I know he played with the bills a little bit but uh a guy never hit his potential and now I don't know what the issues were I mean as far as I know while he was at Tennessee I'm not aware of any issues with him there were others during that time there were issues with but yeah David Sanders Jr man I'm fired up about that one they have not had a tackle they have not gotten a commitment from a guy like that and maybe as far as an offensive tackle I mean the best I can remember recently was Darnell Wright um and you know that one worked out pretty well as far as him coming in but I mean I don't know what after you know we were on here for over an hour and a half on Saturday and stuff uh any other thoughts that you've kind of come up with on that as you know the more I sit and think about it the more it grows on me how big it is um you're growing a rock you have a rock to build around he's your setting stone for the future um you're going to have to replace essentially the entire offensive line outside of Lance herd and you're not just trying to fill in the left guard Center and Right Guard spot you also have to fill in some backup spots too so he allows he allows for some stress to be relieved how now that you have two guys you have both your tackles filled um you can build around two and you got Lance herd who's a five-star Prospect out of LSU and then now you have the man the my the legend himself the festar um you can build around him and you can build a really talented offensive line group and you're not trying to deal with the guys that we have in the past from the pr era and you're not just putting in guys just because you had to play them yeah yeah I agree with you I think it's it's big and and speaking of next year's offensive line there I told you there was some interest of course we talked about we texted about cam Seldon we'll talk about that later there was one more that stood out to me really big and it is regard to future maybe current and future offensive line see if you saw that today some of Hy's comments that we'll get to here in a few minutes um they'll come back we got 23 in here right now hopefully we'll build up in just a few minutes uh hit that thumbs up share it out if you're out here on YouTube or on Twitter or or Instagram or or wherever you're watching from make sure you share this thing out that's the biggest thing to get this thing out here uh super chats are available we are appreciative of super Chats on the channel any super chats any membership stuff they do go back into the channel to help bring us especially with basketball around the corner baseball not too far away uh all that does go it is invested back in to the channel but um yeah talking about that just getting Sanders in the fold and then we talked about it Saturday and I'll come back to Sanders here in a minute just uh the impact that he has I mean George McIntyre I've seen he's fired up Nico's has got to be fired up because I mean he's going to be here L next year hopefully and like you said you're losing most of your offensive line after this season um Nico's got to be fired up whoever the air appearent to Nico is has got to be fir fison Brandon has to be fired up you're getting just a big big time Prospect in and we looked at some video on him on Saturday just his agility uh the way moves uh I mean it's natural you think he's probably gonna get up close to 300 or so pounds I I'm fired up about it but the one that caught me off guard a little bit was and we talked about it I I remember saying which position did they say you said linebacker first we agreed on that did you see Jaden Harmon coming a day later you know I'd heard some stuff about somebody Brewing um I wasn't sure exactly who it was it's nice to see that it was Jaden Harman though that was a little bit of a surprise on my end I thought it maybe could have been a different guy um but really nice to get Harmon stealing from Alabama it's always a good day when every cherry pick something from the University of Alabama yeah absolutely and uh I did a video yesterday you guys if you haven't checked it out check that out but I looked at some film or pulled up some of the film on him his film was impressive um very fast his coach said he runs a 4540 uh he can play safety I think I think it was Matt rayv volquest.com had been down last week and said that um you know he saw him out here returning punts and said well he didn't look out of place said well he wasn't out of place because apparently he's the punt returner on the team there were some people in the comments on the video said they've seen him play he will absolutely hit you you saw it on some of the video all I love the commitment um you know just what little I've seen of Edwin spilman the way he'll hit you the way he flies around reminded me of him and then uh I thought it was pretty interesting today I saw where Tennessee may be getting a visit from the number one linebacker in the country Ty Jackson out of Florida they're targeting that Alabama weekend for him coming in so I mean you know at this point if you're Tennessee you know you mentioned the term cherry pick I think you can be pretty selective in what you got going for you know I mean because you get Jackson onus Conan I think he's going to be in the equation on Friday to give him 24 yeah I don't with Jackson being from Florida you got to think that's a tough pull to get him out of Florida but right now you get him to campus you let everything else take shape because the guys you're gonna get to campus now could you know they go with the Tai Jackson could they try with an Isaiah Gibson could they try that route again do they have they G you know do they take another shot with perotti possibly I don't know if they'll go that route or not um is there any receivers running backs whomever the fall that's these guys that are still there on your recruiting board two back-to-back weekends will be the ones Florida Alabama that's going to be your biggest two weekends on that is there any other names you've heard I mean there's Dwayne Morris too any other names you've heard that not that you didn't mention no Let's see we got David Burgess what's up hey there my big orang family uh sure hope Navy gets to play a few games is let's see is he a senior he's a red shirt senior yeah red shirt actually um graduated with him he walk to CER stage before I did oh really yeah so hopefully yeah hopefully he'll get some a little PT don't we get our full scholarships after this year how many years was that is it like a couple years um I don't think go more than five so it's yeah probably in three or four range so I would assume this should be the last year when's this what is it 100 or is it is it unlimited scholarships or is it 105 they're going too I think it's 105 I don't see how they could get away with unlimited that's a little yeah I don't I couldn't remember which one do you know when that goes into effect I have no idea let me see if I can find it here because um get on the Googles yep I don't know if they've officially put it in uh 25 26 so that's a couple years away so Tennessee's still got to abide if they've got any scholarship limitation I'm thinking they still have a couple at least a couple years of them right now um I mean the biggest thing I think it is you can sign as many players as you can but you still got to be under that limit so Tennessee is what is there like 82 right now it's not a huge difference but I mean it's still a couple players when they go to 105 man recruiting is going to be wild recruiting is going to be wild at that point I mean especially you're going to see is it going to be like the old NCA football you can stack five star class where you've got basically 25 five stars in a class or something that'd be nice golly I mean where Tennessee is going and their trajectory it'll be interesting to see um Devonte Bonds in here what's up man how about that D line that decommitted from Georgia Christian Garrett everything I've seen on him seems to be Georgia Tech but you know I think you're Tennessee you at least got to take a swing at it they were in on him first time around so yeah if if you're Tennessee to this point you can do that you can take those chances on these guys you don't have to try to find some diamond in the rough um not saying you don't because there are some guys that bloom late but I think if you're Tennessee you can be very very selective right now for sure anyone leaves Georgia is good by me yeah I mean Georgia Ohio State any of that are recruiting at these high levels that's um I'll take any of them right now but uh want to kind of lead into our chart project tonight he car's already said he's got at least a couple Pages full right now so lead up into that so a couple things Josh Hypes presser today uh so basically fall Camp is over with so they're now progressing towards two weeks from now no depth chart I did see where 247 Sports put out a depth chart neither one of us have looked at them though we're going with our own depth chart our own projections on that today and um uh before I get any further on recruiting I I got to give the David Sanders Jr recruit volquest.com killed that recruitment they absolutely were on top of that Austin Price Matt Ray they were on location for it um I mean I got to say if I've got a I've got a couple membership sites but to me the recruiting coverage just all around volquest.com man their recruiting is I I don't think anybody's close to them on it they're uh they're killing it I mean Austin price is getting all these interviews and stuff but the job that they did on that David Sanders recruitment when Ohio State mods are out here spewing their garbage you know trying to I I know it was a close Recruitment and stuff I at one point in time I'm but you know Sanders they detailed all of it how it went you know when he was offered vquest was on it they they were consistent with it and uh you know they were on and got it and and got the interview stuff awesome job by the them I mean that's why Bren hubs has been around that site's been around for years all those guys on it they're the best in the business that that's just all it is not that 247 or anything is not but with volquest.com to me when I look at it it's guys they do their job and they I I just don't see a bunch of cocky guys on there um so kind of go out how we how you Pi that comment you want with some other sites but um but anyhow getting into the presser today couple things that stood out to me there's one obviously what's what's the one thing because you texted me this and what's the big thing that stood out to you today uh I texted him while I was at work that cam Seldon H said that cam seldon's full contact should be good to go um I would say he said I'm pretty sure he said that he's 100% right now knowing Josh hoppel he's probably not taking 100% rep she's probably still about 80 or 90 um so should be fully fully fully ready to go in the next 12 days cam Seldon is healthy I think that's big um hypo said he's been going through the last couple practices today he said on it so I I feel like that is is big I feel like it's big I feel like a lot of people were concerned about that running back chart when it come out that cam Seldon was hurt back in the spring then it you know people were saying well they need to hit the portal but I mean with what Deshawn Bishop with him coming on the staff's talked highly of pton Lewis here as well I think it's big I think it's big for I'm high on cam Seldon a guy that size with that speed I think there's a lot of talent I liked what I saw of him in the bowl game if these guys stay healthy they've got some weapons back here I I thought that was big but the one I I told you I said we're going to talk about with the offensive line did you happen to see the comments on the offensive line that he mentioned um if you happen to see that I didn't get to read it I had heard I saw one post on Twitter about it nothing so I didn't get like the full scoop of it so go ahead so he Josh hle said today on that that um trying to find the quote I had it P oh here we go uh he was talking about some position battles all right so we'll go over position battles and I'll get to that of course we know the battle at Star which is apparently a lot closer than we expected and may not even end up how we expected Christian Harrison Buu Carter I from everything I'm seen Christian Harrison keeps starting over bu but I think bu's G to start bu was named freshman All-American today uh which publication was it do you remember uh I saw on three post it um so it might be on three because I know they posted a lot of on three today okay on three put out there is BU Carter freshman All-American so can Buu beat out Christian Harrison do they both carve out of niche in this defense but then go on down here with the position battles and um you know they're not given which way it'll go there here's what stood out to me though and um well they put an article it should be at guard at guard it's even more murky three different players fighting to be the starter Jackson Lampley Andre Carrick and they are battling with Sham umov I thought that was big yeah on that because not heard and uh hyp said Andre missed a couple days but came right back he's played really well Shams playing really well Jackson Lampley has versatility to play multiple sides as well to me that's that's a positive for now and that's a positive for down the line because I think it's possible that the ceiling is higher for sham umov than it is Jackson Lampley or Andre car yeah thoughts on that um I'm not going to dive too much into it until we dive into the um dep chart I think it's great to see battles I think you want battles at each position if you can um even create false battles kind of maybe lie to your starter player just tell them it's a little bit closer than you think because I mean if you're battl on out if you're battl on out for all the fall Camp all summer you're making each player better and you're overall increasing your team yeah I I mean we've seen this I I don't know how many times before I can't remember so much in the hypo there was always somebody in the former era that you heard all this about having such a good offseason then you never saw him unless it was a blowout and and it's it's happened with each coach I feel like it's could be the case here as well but um you're looking at it as well so talk about Bo Carter freshman all americ I thought that was pretty interesting he and Christian Harrison are in a battle we'll talk that depth here in a minute cam Seldon being back I thought that was a positive um the headset stuff is going to be pretty interesting he talked about that that was part of today talked about their communication how they feel like it'll benefit the defense more than it will the offense I thought that was pretty interesting actually so I'm assuming probably your keen and phly will be the headset guy because I would think he'll kind of call things with you as well but um that's going to be an interesting I know they've talked about the iPads and of course they did talk about the recruiting and what they've done about how Tennessee is just so close to all these as well so um with all that being said we' talked about the presser boo freshman americ we've already hit on recruiting it is time for the main event of the evening it is depth chart time on the house of orange and again we have not looked at any other placees depth charts this is a totally 100% our own depth charts we're not copying we're not pasting on that um so without further Ado or we going to start with the obvious you want go with the off I think we have to stop start with the obvious all right I I'm pretty sure we're going to be in agreement on this one QB number one is there any doubt no none at all Nico number one all right now we're gonna see where you and I go on the depth chart qb2 who you got I got the one and only Gaston Moore qb3 uh the Merc no or you go two three more than merklinger yes in the event something Nico wakes up sick or something like he did last week yeah I mean they said there was situations they were prepared for and um that's one you never know I mean you never know uh does MO start or do merklinger start I think you have to go with more just considering the fact that he came to Rocky Top with hle um he's been in this offense now for a few years he's been a part of this offense more than anybody else on the team considering he was a part of it at UCF so I think that's a guy that you can throw into the offense and he'll get the job done um he's not going to blow up the stat sheet but he knows how to run the offense and he should by now know how to run it perfectly so I would fully trust him to be the quarterback if we needed him to be so I you you kind of answered my next question if it come to that how confident would you feel in him having to take the reps I feel fully confident um he's been here long enough been a part of the offense long enough I don't see how he couldn't get the job done all right so yeah I I'm in agreement with you on that one um if it were longterm heaven forbid something happens that's long term on it um do you still go more do you go merklinger uh I think it's open for competition but I think that you still just have to you have to go with more you got to give your chance to best chance to succeed hopefully actually have a successful season I'm not sure you can throw MK linger Into the Fire because that's just not something the kid's expecting right now he's not expecting to really play at all this season he's just practicing and hoping to get better so if something happened to Nico and then mo mo was a starter and a that's a lot of pressure put on marer that's that's a lot out of nowhere and that that can play a huge role yeah I've seen I had seen something earlier people saying that you know if it come down to that they would they think merklinger if it were long I I'm with you I think it's more either way and I think I think Moore could come in do a good job he's not gonna bring the athleticism of Nico or anything but I think he would come in and have a nice control of the roster he's going to know or the offense he's going to know the offense inside out um so I feel pretty good on that one um all right so let's and I guess if we need to who's who's QB number four um I think of course has to be the one and only the prole sign nav Schuler Navy he got some playing time last year so hopefully maybe some more playing time this year considering last chance to play ball so yeah yeah I hope so as well all right let's shift to the running backs now any doubt who rb1 is nope Dylan Samson Dylan Samson I think Dylan Samson is in line for a monster year huge this year possibly even bigger than what Jaylen Wright had last year because Jerry Mike had some interesting rotations with his running backs I don't know that Sims will rotate like Jerry mck did he will um but you still got to have depth there now this is where it gets interesting to me I know where I'm going I'm curious to see where you're going with this um I know you love this man you're huge on this man you mentioned him in past shows that really high on him um cam zeldon full to go he's your running back number two he's your running back number two against Iowa did great then he's going to do great now you don't really have anybody else that I feel like could confidently play the role of running back to and if you were worried about that you would have hit the portal in the in the summer what about three uh I got I'll take yours and then I'll come back to it Sean Bishop Bishop three yes sir four uh pton Lewis actually he's got a huge ceiling he's a guy that it's gonna be hard to keep off the field and five just Khalifa Keith just a depth guy so I'm going pretty similar could Keith be well I I'll bring this up later on about the offense I've got some questions later on on offensive scheme just based on them talking I'm going to Dyan Samson 1 cam Seldon 2 here's my first or number three I'm going pton Lewis or Deshawn bishop and then I'm going Khalifa Keith because they've talked pretty high on pton Lewis but they've also talked up DeShawn Bishop as well I I kind of lean toward pton Lewis over him but man they've been pretty happy with Bishop up to this point as well so that's I think that's uh that one could go I don't think it to me I mean I think cam seldon's your second most ented running back on the team um could possibly be first when it's all said and done but I mean Dylan Samson is is pretty dang good on here so I think we're we're pretty close on that one I do want to pull all right before we go to wide receiver I'm gonna go to tight end first I'm GNA kind of shift a little bit of a gear on this one I think this one will be interesting right here so I'm I'm gonna let you start on that tight end uh who you got I actually have my first or here I got Holden stays or Ethan Davis um I would I would assume that they go with stays just considering the fact that ho and his offense you seen the past they like to choose the physical tight end and I think that stays put you in the best position to do so if you watch some some of the interviews talked about him some of the other guys other media corporations uh they talk about how Ethan Davis he can line up at wide receiver and that's not really what this offense has kind of done in the past they're going to try to get a physical guy in there like stays that can help us running the ball considering we are so spread out uh Ethan Davis has a lot to prove in the physicality standpoint so I'm still gonna put or because you never know with this team but I would still say that Holden stays gets one one or two more reps a game than Ethan Ethan Davis to start out and then tight end number two I'm huge on this kid I think it's got to be miles kelman this is a guy that reminds me a lot of Austin Pope um many of you may not remember Austin Pope he was a tight end a few years ago all he did was block that was the only reason he was on that's the only reason he played was to block kelman does have a little bit more ability to that but Kitman is a guy you're gonna bring in when you need some yardage and he's going to block he's going to run some guys over and he's going to let Samson and Seldon get a few extra yards I'm going a little different than you on this one and I'm going kelman's a starter really I'm actually going I'm actually going two ores I'm going kelman or Davis or stays but I'm going in that order I think kelman the way they've talked about him and what he does his blocking like you said his ability and they've talked about he can he's pretty good over the middle uh as well I'm going kelman starts wow I'm going Davis second in order because of so many abilities I've not heard much about um and maybe he's just doing his job maybe he's just Mr steady on that maybe the other two are kind of getting more talk but I'm going kelman Davis stays but I think all three are going to play oh yeah quite a bit I think you'll see all three of them make some kind of impact whether it's kitselman in the Run game whether you said like with Davis can he spread out can stays stays is pretty good across the middle can Davis spread out could he be you know a Red Zone guy so to speak with his size and stuff I I think they've got some real interesting aspects on it I'm trying to think there's anybody I don't know that any of these other tight I know Charlie Browder came from UCF I just don't think he's a factor no I don't think many I think that they're just going to try to get those three guys in yeah and then Cole Harrison or red shirt so I mean you're looking at kelman 65 256 you're looking at um Davis 65 246 you're looking at stay 64 248 you got three pretty good siiz guys at that position who all bring something else to it I like that position I think the way they talk about they want to use it I have a question on that one um just now this came in my head uh does this tight end room remind you a little bit more of the 2022 room considering you had Princeton Fant and Jacob Warren you had two very versatile tight ends two different totally different guys Princeton Fant was kind of he could do everything and Jacob Warren was kind of over the middle and blocking I think you kind of see that Ethan Davis could be your Princeton Fant Holden stage for Miles Kitman could be your Jacob Warren you think the same possibly possibly so the thing now like you said Fant could do it all I mean because he got goal line carries and and stuff but his ability just his U his athletic ability the way he can move I I would say stays as a h i don't know if stay is more like him or or Davis that's a an I would there's almost a part of me would put Davis I thought Warren was a better receiving tied end than Fant even though Fant was pretty good I like you said Fant just did so much he did he was all over the place yeah I think we may have underestimated how much he meant to that team maybe not his Senor year there were other parts when he was there but I I loved it when they went with the package of him at running back I thought it was awesome yeah um it was pretty cool but I yeah that that was a pretty good tight end room it really was and you know I think of that freaking Old Miss game where Warren got the first down they didn't give it to him yeah that was pretty brutal were you there for it yeah I was there unfortunately I didn't I stayed we know we know who one of the throwers was at this point I the muster bottle breaking news all right here we go it's I think it's will be an interesting one right here wide receiver wide receiver so I guess that we want to go two outsides and inside yeah that's what I'm thinking guy on the left guy on the right and Slot all right I'm gonna say wide receiver ones outside wide receiver two outside wide receiver three will say slot so wide receiver one where are you going on that uh this will be on the left side I got the one and only Brew McCoy first um thankful to have him back great to have him back great to have him return healthy he's a guy he's going to block for you he's going to get the job done he'll go under the radar and that's simply because he's doing everything you ask of him um next the one and only huge breakout player last year Caleb Webb I think that's a guy that you're want to see get a lot more reps he's put on some weight he's had a great ball Camp from what I've heard and I think he'll be a great factor in this offense and you'll see him play more than you probably think he will are you back Brew yes right behind Brew okay okay and then uh third Roger St 3 will be Mike Matthews on that left side uh Mike Matthews is a guy he can play Anywhere across the three spots he could move up if he sneaks into maybe the uh third game of the year I forgot Kent State that's who it is K State that night game when it's the blowout he could come in make some plays possibly set up some more playing time in the future um it'd be nice to see him hit the field I mean festar guy make plays I don't really see him playing too much just simply because of how loaded this wide receiver room is so I'm going to put him at wide receiver three on the wide receiver one spot on the left side do you want me to dive into wide receiver two on the right or do you want to take your go with you I'll go BR yeah I think that's kind of their more that when you're referring to let me hit this here real quick and I'll come back to you so Papa J man appreciate appreciate your generosity cannot wait until next weekend Papa J for 20 thank you as always for generosity greatly appreciate that cannot wait till next weekend let's go big orange I cannot either and uh a't chattanoga ranked top 10 oh yeah so yeah so you know they're they're not just a clown team but I still expect Tennessee to have their way with them um so going back to I I could I think it's more of your possession guy so yeah Brew web I think so as well um I don't know if three I I'm pretty much in agreement with you I don't know if Matthews or possibly um I know they've spoke highly about leok I don't know that he's worked his way up to be a factor this year so much um I could probably see I don't know that being more possession based guy could an Ethan Dava slide out to that I don't know on that one I think for sure brew and web I kind of just went those two on it to be honest with you so that's yeah that's where I'm going there I'm gonna lead off number two here I'm gonna get out in front of you that way I'm not steing all yours wide receiver too I'm going Brazzle as a starter I expect big things out of him if everything were hearing on him is Right Dante Thorton backing him up number two that's my two guys right there and um I would put Mike Matthews number three on that I think Matthews could possibly go number three in three different spots to be honest with you he probably could who's your wide receiver number two far right let's go I'm actually going to put it or I want to put the same as you um Brazzle and Thorton I think that Brazzle will probably win the certain job long run but I think that Thorton's shown the flashes of being a starter um he's got great Down thefield Speed he creates the separation really tall guy great hands hopefully if he's fully healthy he can compete I still think there's too much upside with Brazil Brazil whatever his name is yeah I'm not I think it's Brazil I may be wrong on that though but If he if he does really good we'll just call him Brazil because that sounds cooler in my opinion um so yeah Brazil or dorton I think that's a position you want to let him fight for that third actually got leok there he's not really a slot guy um he's a little bit bigger more of a brew size so probably probably three for him what about this could we throw this guy in here think we get Carl pickings in oh is I don't know if I want today's Carl Pi I don't know he might be he might Carl Pickins was the man he was so good down there on both sides of the ball actually all right let's move to the slot let's I think this could be an interesting one and I I'm going to bring up some possibilities on slot too so I'll let you start on that one alrighty of course leader of your wide receiver group squirrel he's your slot wide receiver and then you got the guy that's made the biggest transition this off season in jimrod at number behind squirrel um that's a guy played really good last year when you were called on him and I think he takes a even bigger step this year I think he actually has a better season than Caleb web kind of his counterpart last year uh guy with a huge upside guy the coach and stth loves hopefully he'll be able to take that step hopefully the pressure isn't too much on him because there is a significant amount of pressure on him this season and then wide receiver three in the slot I got brilin Staley great kid local to where you are um hopefully he gets a lot of playing time there I don't really see him play seeing the field they may throw in a different guy there I could see Matthew's taking the slot slot reps over him it just depends um but just for this depth chart I'll throw in BR and Staley I've got squirrel I've got Nim Rod I've got Matthews or Staley but Staley's been hurt a lot he's gonna have to get out and I'll be curious because he's a burner that seems like a a prime role for him what I would be interested in could you at some point go row or Thornton at two the other at wide receiver three they're both burners suppose they both got size uh could you put one of them at wide receiver one one them at wide receiver two go squirrel at three or Matthews I mean I don't think Matthews has the speed of Staley but I think he's still he's got pretty good speed from what I understand on it I they've got a lot they've said it this is their deepest wide receiving core of the hypo era uh we'll see and I think it'll help with what they I I can't stress how much different that I think this offense will run with Nico this year the Milton I think it'll be night and day yeah I have to agree with I think it be night and day but you know to me I think when you still need that catch there's two guys if you need that one catch who's your guy you're going to uh considering he got it done against Alabama in 2022 I'm going to go right back to brew that's hard to that's hard to argue I was going to say squirrel but then I thought yeah Brew was huge I mean was that and that was not an easy catch he made not went up there two Defenders there so I mean uh if we get into you know we've got basically nine guys list I I would say Lee if Lee Cox's going to factor I'm putting him number three at wide receiver that's 10 guys yeah right there um you know and then after the season you lose what two of them let's see you lose Brew lose brew and thoron Thorton possibly squirrel yeah I guess squirrel could go to the NFL after this year I don't know how his size factors but I mean he's the guy just gets the job done I mean he just gets the job done uh did you see the numbers Travis Smith Jr had this past weekend I didn't see numbers but I do know that he absolutely popped off yeah was like nine catches 287 yards multiple touchdowns uh I I'm so I love that pickup love it love the size the speed I I think it's going to be a huge one for them on there um let's see was see where we at we we got about 44 we're down a little bit we had a a good audience we had 75 last week so I don't know what's up tonight maybe some other stuff going on um of course this thing's still growing it's still growing it's it's still in the infant stages the channel the more we get along the further you know this thing grows we had an awesome crowd on Saturday I mean we were around 500 people that was easily uh a best for this Channel and you know normally I'm not g my I don't I've said it before I don't know my game's going to be the live football shows and all that I just felt like that was an opportunity we had to take Saturday I mean that's one of the biggest recruits in recent memory to announced for Tennessee I I just feel if you're trying to grow a channel if you're trying to be an everything channel that that's just an opportunity that I can't miss just cannot do it I I think I've been an absolute idiot to not hit that one and U you know it it was good to the channel I know there's other channel there was a bunch of channels covering it we probably had some of the lower views but you know what there were still 500 people here that's pretty freaking good I'm pretty damn happy with that I'm going to be honest with you so uh you know building it one step at a time that's where we're going so all right we've hit the quarterbacks the runner backs we've hit the wide receivers we've hit the tight ends based on that so far how do you feel about those we've not even gotten to the line that's where we're going next how do you feel about those skill positions and their ability to produce this year uh I'd say that's the best that you've had under H just considering preseason wise um 22 you didn't really of course those guys it's going to be hard to live up to that but you don't you're not waiting till midseason to having Jaylen hot break out the way that he did you didn't have the hot preseason that jayen H did back then so this year there is every position's dangerous running back tight end all three wide receiver spots you can put anybody there and they're going to dominate you um hles finally got his offense so it' be great to see what he's capable to do with all his weapons yeah I I'm excited about it I'm excited to see it so all right so let's get to here we go left tackle left guard Center Right Guard right tackle I don't think there'll be a lot of suspense on at least four of these no so I'm going to let you go left to right with offensive line unit number one unit number one left tackle we got Lance hard LSA um probably the most pressure out of anybody on the team is on Lance hard so hopefully he answers a call on that left guard you mentioned earlier it's a three-way battle for that considering what H said um I think that's a guy that or I think that's a position that Jackson Lampley wins I think that's a veteran spot you need a veteran guy and I think Lampley wins that Center of course Cooper Mae Right Guard of course javante spragin and right tackle of course John Campbell um great unit one I think you could mix and match some guys you'll still get the job done it's nice to actually have five guys that you know can actually compete at the SEC level that wasn't something that you had the luxury of in the past so it's great to finally have that yeah yeah I agree I'm going herd left tackle uh I'm in or Lampley or Carrick I think Lampley ultimately wins that out he played good in the bowl game uh I mean Carrick just stays hurt a lot hopefully he gets healthy and he's ready to go and we can see what he can do Mae is your Undisputed Center spraggan's Right Guard Campbell right tackle now funny thing on the second string I've got the same guy listed at four of these um I've got Dane Davis listed at four of them I've got him as the backup right tackle Right Guard Center and left tackle I've got your lamp player Carrick obviously who doesn't start is the backup and then I got umov in there as well got Larry Johnson as the uh third left tackle as well and then I'll go a little further in a minute what what do you have across the board on that one uh I went a little different than you I didn't do the Dane Davis Choice U left tackle I got Larry Johnson left guard got the or sham or andr Carrick um Center the backup center would be vion vion Lang coaches has been huge on him hopefully he'll live up to the hop um rard I got sham or Carrick again there because that's kind of you're going to mix a match those guys and then right tackle I got Dane Davis uh Dan Davis can play anywhere on the line like you said I think it'd be nice to not rely on him as much as you last year and it would be nice I'd okay I'd be okay with sacrificing some plays and letting some backups get some reps and not just throne in Dame Davis all the way across the line it'd be nice to see Larry Johnson play be nice to see vion Lange play and it'd be nice to see sham and Carrick split a lot of reps yeah yeah I agree with you on that I I think too your ceiling with those guys are are much higher I mean Davis and like oi Lane they it kind of remind me guys that you know they're going to go out here and give it all they're all um know they know their assignments they know what to do I I'll be honest Davis at right tackle scares me a lot I like him more inside I think he's I think he's a pretty solid inside guy he knows his stuff I think the speed that's what concerns me on that and um you know just so I I was actually reading up on NC State earlier on and they've got some they do have some pretty good ends on their team so I think you need we need our best offensive line I was reading on their offensive line they've got a apparently a pretty good offensive line coming back this year that's uh you know the big difference for me in that game they're replacing a lot of guys on defense I saw different reports on them I I think I don't think they can keep up Tennessee but they can score but I think it'll come back but um yeah Lang I've got him after Davis at Center umarov sham could go either way Larry Johnson I'm not really seeing any unless some of these freshmen uh because there's some guys like I mean I think there's some guys that they're in that Pro it point of their career Brian Grant Messi reck are a couple that I think if these guys are going to show they've got to start moving up that depth chart a little bit because with the talent they're bringing in at tackle even guard coming in you know if these guys don't start to make that move they're going to get past uh in my opinion and but I hope they develop we need all the de development we can get I it's a pretty good offensive line what's Adam sorry sorry I actually put together a um offensive line number three unit that doesn't include any of the other guys if you want me to read off that one yeah but put together go uh left tackle benett Warren it'd be great to see him play um left guard guy interviewed a few years ago with a different different team um M reck I think that's a guy that you kind of hear a a little bit about it'd be nice to see him see the field um Center would be William saturat so guy the coaching staff was huge on recruiting and then Right Guard Aden Buell that's a guy a lot of upside he may take a few steps this season maybe get a chance to play next season considering all the open availability then the right tackle I'd put Brian Grant okay so you've got all them included in I mean I think that's your guys reick Ryan Grant those guys I think those two in particular are guys that are going to have to take that step yeah I think they're and Larry Johnson too I mean honestly those three guys are or ones I see they're at that point where you know hey you're you got to take that step or you're probably getting recruited over I think some of these young dudes there's some there's some high ceilings Bennett Warren there is sat white Max Anderson I think has a good ceiling he does uh you know what's what's some of these guys like Jesse Perry they've spoke highly of him um you know just looking down at Gage gther so there's Talent how do you develop it you know the good thing is a lot of times you know what's a Trevor Duncan he he's a red shirtt freshman he and Aiden Buell what steps do they take Jeremiah herd that's another guy that I've I've read a lot of good things on here as well they're they're starting to build that depth here I think here in a couple years it's going to look similar to like what the defensive line looks now in terms of just the depth I'm not saying it'll be that quality but it'll be a lot of depth along the way so that's you know like you said the biggest thing I want to see in these games like Chattanooga Kent State and stuff I want to see them get on these guys early blow them out let's get some of these backups that opportunity I I don't need to see Ma and spragin and Campbell in in the fourth quarter in those games I really don't we've got concerns that they are um whenever you can get a chance get them an opportunity I I've totally forgetting those guys because you know game reps you just can't replace game reps doesn't matter who it's against I know these offensive lineman are going against possibly the best defensive line in country but um the the depths building that's what I like here and they're building they're bringing in some more Talent this off SE I wouldn't be surprised see them hit the portal even I mean especially if they're concerned on Center get a center out of the portal all right let's shift to the defense here so we're about 52 minutes we're going to hit the defense and wrap up tonight so we'll go I does Tennessee even play three linebackers at the same time anymore no unless it's maybe goal line or something yeah they don't really play three anymore yeah I mean it's pretty much your old nickel they call it star it's basically your nickel package is what they play so I I think this will be interesting right here this one I think we'll probably agree on a bit of things I think we could go different on a couple things so I know this one's going to be a tough one left end left in that's the what the Leo the Leo yeah this is going to be a real hard one right here yeah um the one in the only future number one overall draft pick James Pierce Jr James Pierce I think we can agree on that one yep pretty much um how you got it going back up to him uh Joshua Joseph's that's a guy that could start for us or any other team in the SEC at side linebacker and who you got behind him Caleb Herring he's put on a lot of weight this offseason huge on him yeah that was one of my kind of under the radar gu I I'm going to same order on that and and I think there are packages that they all those guys could get on the field at the same time they could and that could if there you know if the lines are not allowed to hold like happened in some games last year those guys are going to wre some Havoc I'm telling you all right uh who's your inside guys let's see nose tackle I got Amari Thomas as your starter backing up him I got Elijah Simmons and then backing up Elijah Simmons David Hobs I'm curious to see Hobs what step he takes it'll be nice this year I don't really know how they here's I guess I get confused on their line if there's a specific as far as like tackle are they interchangeable or are they specific to one spot because I I think right there you could go I mean I've got Omari Thomas definitely and I got Bryson e as my two starters at it I think it gets because you're going to have Elijah Simmons you're going to have Norman lot in you're gonna have Jackson Moy the Stanford transfer you GNA have Hobs in um I feel like I'm forgetting somebody here I'm I've got the uh I mean where's Tyreek West I I'm high on Tyreek West but is he more of he's more of a DN in my mind that's what I was going to say is he more of that right side yeah end and um cuz I've got Dominic Bailey starting on the right end but I have West I think Wes is gonna play Big I think he's GNA have a big year for him so I might have jumped the gun on you on that where you've got Thomas Simmons and Hobs yeah what do you got for the rest of the line then I'll come back with the rest of mine the Thomas Simmons and Hobs was my nose tackle for D tackle I got Bryson een or Norman lot and then backing up them would be Jackson Mo I think there's too much talent there just to put one guy down just to put like Mari Thomas down and then some guys on the edge or defense end you can work in all six of those guys could play you could rotate those six guys and you would see no difference um I'd like to see Amari Thomas and Omar Norman lot both on the field at the same time that'd be really nice to see uh Bryson E's a guy that's progressed each year in this program so hopefully he takes even more of a step I actually kind of kind of have him giving a slot Edge over normalite considering he is a guy that started in the past so they've got guys like I I forget about some of these dudes and they've got so many that can make like you've got uh a Jason Jenkins hit the portal or was about to hit the portal end up coming back he started making some placed into the year I think he's uh he's he's pretty good pretty good what he Norman lot Jackson Moy Hobs is in there I mean that's seven guys I got a tackle that's not even including uh you know some of these some of these dudes that play in could almost play tackle if needed uh I wonder if Jenkins couldn't slide out and play end as well he's 662 81 so that's a you know you got Nathan Robinson where's he going to factor in seing good things about him um man this is such a deep defensive line it's it's crazy where we've been at one point time I mean you think about this here we did not even mention this guy at Leo you had one of the what top 15 players in the country Jordan Ross coming in we've not even mentioned him no uh that tells you how much depth that they have here I'm going to hit some of these comments here give us a minute here uh the amount of blue chippers yeah that they're pulling in crazy right now at all positions really there's Big Orange says what's up fellas who likes the right team now absolutely go vs th this is big going back to the offense I've got to stay healthy I feel like there's a significant drop off from the top five uh to the second I really do at least right now and hopefully in that Chattanooga game I I hope we get it big enough for most of that second half is second and third Team guys on it definitely hope Thornton shows out for sure Matt Stones worried about the defensive line I I could tell he's real serious on that one uh uh I'd like to see sham going solidify I I would too I think he has the highest ceiling of a bunch but you know Lampley gave me confidence with how he played in the bowl game I thought he did a good job he graded out well according to PFF as well um and I mean it's a pretty good point if it's that close do you go with the veteran do you go with the talent over if it's that close I'm going with the talent uh a part of me thinks it's like I think it's probably building him up I I think it's Lampley Keenan P's close to getting Social Security we'll talk about him here in a minute um sobody said peely born in 98 um Manda lead the d p ply with the headphones yeah we'll get to that in a minute all right your what are what is their name for the Right End spot I cannot remember what they call that I'm not sure I just put it as a defensive end yeah what what your depth on that one looking like uh my starter is going to be Ty West that's a guy that you saw in the bowl game you kind of saw a freak athlete come out of nowhere he kind of popped out kind of like James Pierce Junior does I think that's a guy that has more upside than Dominic Bailey Tyree West you saw him chase after the quarterback in the Citrus Bowl at a different speed that you see from any other defensive lineman so I think you have to you have to start him it's gonna be extremely hard not to have him on the field just considering his athleticism he kind of reminds me a lot of a little bit of skinnier version of Jeffrey Simmons on the Titans huge upside and could definitely be a star player um got Dominic Bailey behind him then who you mentioned earlier I think he does kind of slide out to the defensive end spot hopefully to maybe get the get to see the Filmore and Jason jenkings and then fourth Ty Weathersby it's a guy talked about a good bit from the stth he's making he's making progression um he probably won't really see the field but I got him at the fourth spot at the defense end I've got Bailey then West and Weathersby I and that's was before I factored Jenkins but I I think bayy starts but I'm with you I think West is I think West is better and that's nothing against baay I think bayley's solid I think he's he's a guy you can depend on he's going to do his job I I think West is like you said I think he's got that I don't know he's that guy that's more of a Difference Maker he is to me I think both guys will see it a lot from what I've read to West may be a guy we see in those down packages with Pierce and Joseph and Herring all kind of mixed in I mean you get those guys in and you know maybe you have an Omari Thomas or somebody in there as well but you know if they're allowed to do what they're supposed to they're going to wreak absolute havoc on that one um Darren Weaver says for offense and our defense are as good as advertis we're going to need a good running back rotation I I think the running back positions being undersold I think it's t I just think it's because it's a lot of unproven talent I I I think there's a lot of talent in that room you know especially with Bishop coming on Seldon I mean Seldon still I'm I'm big on cam Seldon we'll see if he proves me right or wrong they're pretty high on Payton Lewis as well good Khalifa Keith I wonder if they I'm curious to see and I meant to ask this earlier do we get a goal line package this year or we still running out of the shotgun all the time on short I I'll be honest if I never see them on Fourth and Short Round shotgun again I'll be fine with it I don't man it's just I don't think it's in Ho's blood I just really don't I don't think he's got it in him we want him to do it because that's what we've all grown up with is the Aj Johnson yeah like you put him on fourth down fourth and goal and he got the job done you're just not going to see that unfortunately with hle I think and now you're kind of to the point where you're not having to rely on putting all your big guys in just to get one yard you have the you have The Playmakers on the edges got the running backs you got the tight ends you got Nico all these guys that can make plays on their own so you don't really have to put in seven 300 pound bin just to get one yard yeah I I'm big on I I to me it doesn't make sense to line up five yards behind the line to get one yard but but I'm with you I don't know I mean we saw a year of it with priston uh Princeton Fant and um you know what always kind of love jayen Wright love jayen right he was the short yardage guy man he you know you got to have your line blocked for you too though I mean how many times we see that line get mauled and uh that's going to be a big part of it I mean if your Line's not doing the job it's honestly not going to matter if they're in shotgun or if they're under Center I wonder if Keith that his size could be a weapon and in that uh 200 yeah Matt Stone here put 239 pounds they've got Keith on uh UT sports listed I had it up here I've got down to the defense they have him listed on there yeah 61239 that's a big man at running I I hope they'll utilize it I'm just a fan of that but we'll see but that defensive yeah uh this was a pretty good point right here where did I see it at oh the fact we're talking about fourth string we got a fivar dude at Fourth string Leo Jordan Ross insane possible I mean this defensive tackle depth this this line depth is wild it is it is wild and it's been so long I still say late 9 maybe early 2000 since they've had this kind of depth on it I don't know that they've got that but I mean Pierce is Pierce is a stud I mean you don't have Albert Henderson and John hanesworth Albert Haworth and John Henderson let me get right I got him backwards there I mean but that's still some very solid defensive tackles that they have in there as well so let's shift to the linebackers I think one may they mo may both be pretty easy but all right where you going linebacker wise uh I just run through my three man deep but just the just the left linebacker let's just Envision the guy on the left you got the left and the right guy uh left guy got Keenan py at first starter he's your headset guy 26 years old fully developed frontal lobe um he's going to get the job done then behind him I got J Tander the kid that I love personally it was nice seeing him getting a lot of playing time last year and he should get just as much playing time this year if not more he's the guy that's downhill makes makes heavy contact and then the guy behind him makes even more heavy contact than Edwin spilman you'll see him on the field he'll sneak in there somehow he'll pop you in the mouth and he'll leave his Mark yeah I went py he's going to be your headset guy he's going to lead the defense um you know just a little bit of action we saw get out of him against Virginia last year he looked like a A Difference Maker and to me it may be have been a blessing in disguise for this team and him yeah that I say this would he have made a difference last year yes does he lead to more wins I don't know that he does though because I don't feel like a lot of what he brought would would have it would have changed things yes but the fact that you still had the same quarterback and uh you know hey hats off to Joe I I'm pulling for him with the Patriots and stuff but um you know it is what it is I this offense is going to look so much better this year I've got phy I got T Lander I've got I don't know where they go with this part I put Jaylen Smith third even though I've really not put much about him and then I've got I'm gonna kind of jump on I've got Arion Carter one at the other linebacker I got Caleb Perry and I got spilman there I guess they could interchange with spilman and Smith I'm not sure how they've got them exactly but that's my top three I've got what do you got on that side uh first I think that this is actually a huge position spot um when you have the defensive line as strong as it is this year it it's totally different than it was last year where the linebackers are so much more important now because you're going to be able to stop them well you'll have to be able to stop them in the short stuff because last year you were in a position where you had to have your secondary play really well because they're going to get past the linebackers they're going to get past the defensive line they're going to get down the field so you had to rely on the second to stop them and now you're going to be relying move that up to the linebackers because the quarterbacks are going to have to throw the short plays the defensive Line's going to be putting pressure on the quarterback so to be the the linebackers really have to step up this season and I think you got a guy here that's going to answer the call in my opinion he kind of resembles what you used to see out of Tennessee linebackers in the 90s and in the early 2000s I think Arian Carter is your starter and he's a guy he's Relentless um he he could be the leader of the linebacker court right now if it wasn't for phy 110% on every rep he's a grown man um great man personally and I think he's gonna he's G to take a huge step this year you saw T Lander and Carter competing for the same spot last year Carter's made such a huge jump he could start he'll start this year and he could start on any other team a starting linebacker in my opinion um behind him I got Caleb Perry he's a guy good dep piece gets the job done and then behind him who you mentioned a little bit earlier I got Jaylen Smith since I have spill one on the other side yeah I'm not sure how they go with that one which one so that's kind kind of how I went there I I think this unit could be one that were sleeping on Floy I think ph's going to be solid I feel like for I don't know how many years Tennessee's had that one pretty good linebacker and then the their second one has been yeah hit and miss yes um you know like y know Banks was so the big thing they need somebody con cover in the flats and um you know I know the South Carolina game I know you had Connor stallions everybody said that but the freaking bottom line in that game was they couldn't cover no they couldn't and especially when South Carolina there was some of that I don't care who was given the plays Spencer Rattler made some unbelievable throws he did in that game he really was there to freaking witness that garbage show um some of the throws he made were just it didn't matter if he knew the plays or not they were awesome but out in the flats the way they killed Tennessee and maybe there were they've not played that good since those two games against Tennessee and Clemson I don't think that's a coincidence but still yet the thing in that game and I would think you got to pick up on it at some point they kept going to the flats and Tennessee's linebackers could not cover they've had that issue even when puit was there I thought tooa was pretty good when a at times but he could not cover he could not cover um it's been a while since we've had linebackers that could cover down here I think now phy showed to me against Virginia that he can cover in what little bit we saw him if Aran Carter is everything we're hearing I think you're going to have a couple guys can do it that defensive line though you mentioned it man was that depth um that's like right here want to go back to this comment Austin Ireland said top to bottom I don't know if they've ever had this depth at dline maybe better players but you know a 14 man rotation I don't know if they've had that much depth either either um that is huge The more I've seen it though I've gotten higher on these linebackers yeah I I like what they possibly bring to the table all right so we go six deep there that's not even including you've got um freshman Jordan Burns coming in was pretty highly thought of that does not include I'm trying is there anybody else ofit no that's that's it and then your future is very bright it is at that position you lose py if no one else transfers though you're bringing in Christian gas now you're bringing Jaden Harmon what if you do get a tie Jackson that's just icing on the cake it is um I've said this before I appreciate what Brian Jean Marie did by restocking this room but I think we needed that teacher to get him to the next level I I mean cannot stress enough what he took over at that linebacker but so many guys on this team when they came here and the positions they took over that had no depth Adam and now what they've made it but I think William in is what this team needs at this time just a guy more of a veteran coach who I feel he's going to coach these guys up I feel we're going to see that improvement with it I like those two units the biggest question mark on the team now we're coming to the secondary I don't I don't think there's much doubt about this being the question mark but is it as big of a question mark As we think we're going to dive into this one right now we're about an hour and 12 minutes we're up 57 people we I don't know man I'm thinking is 8:00 the time to go I'm wonder if that's not our big audience is I kind of hate to go that late but I don't know I'm all for getting the best audience in we can get either anybody in the chat I'm welcome to feedback on that we'll two of us can talk about it later on as well but um let's start the quarterback position I'll let you start there I'll go ahead and I'll make one more note quick note about the linebacker core um I am very blessed and very happy that Elijah hearing is no longer part of this linebacker Corp he was a achilles Hill in the past game so very thankful he's gone and we have moved on for him um but I'll go ahead and get into The Corner Spot uh left corner I'll do left and right so we'll go left first number one guy Oregon State transfer jamod McCoy he's the NFL quarterback and you cannot be understated how big it was picking him up from the transfer portal number two another transfer from Temple um jayen McMurray bqu and everybody else has been really big on him so far in the preseason and so has the coaching staff I think it's a great guy to back up Jamal McCoy and then in three I got Marcus greed Jr that kind of the third spot on each side it can kind of go to anybody there's not there's nobody really singled out for that you may not ever even hear Marcus gree Jr's name it could be some random person um but I just went ahead and put him there okay I I've got McCoy and McMurray on that one I would say if it goes to a third is Jordan Matthews on that side I I'm thinking some of this is going to be interchangeable here um now I'll kind of give a spoiler alert I don't know unless it's like blowouts that we'll hear any of those freshman true freshman this year other than Buu we'll get to Buu here in a few minutes but as far as um my my initial thought is Buu is the only one that we see this year um maybe in some blowouts because I mean they can play four games without losing a red shirt so that's where I'm with McCoy McMurray Matthews I'm going to take the other corner here I'm going Gibson I'm really kind of going the same order I'm going McMurray Matthews and I think that could be interchangeable on that side I could see Matthews being the back up but I'm really going kind of the same I think it's definitely McCoy I think it's definitely Gibson um you know part of me would say maybe Christian Charles but I think he's working more safety yeah now than anything so I'm really going to kind of the same order that you could go McMurray and Matthews and maybe it's a case of it's Gibson Matthews one side McCoy McMurray on the other one that's exactly what I say that's why exactly what I got I got Gibson and Jordan Matthews um I would put Matthews at four quarterback number four McCoy Gibson McMurray the Matthews um if I had to pick five I'd probably go with Caleb Beasley that's a guy I got a lot of upside on hopefully he gets to see the field a little bit I'm C I'm curious to see if they work those freshman in or not because there's some Talent there is in those freshmen um I'm just curious to see will they be able to work their way onto the field um I mean you know one I question is they're they love will Brooks could will Brooks play some Corner as well seems to me or is would he be more of a star guy is kind of what I wonder I'm sure we'll talk about him in a minute but shifting to the star what's your I think this one could be interesting right here what's your order on this one uh only got two guys here it's a competition between Bo Carter and Christian Harrison I mentioned this on a show I think it was the last show or the one before that uh they're going to choose the veteran guy to start out things I'm not saying bu Carter isn't going to be the starter at all this season he could be the starter come week two but they're more than likely G to run out Christian Harrison just considering Willie Martinez what we've seen with him during the bus Jones era and now um he'll probably go Christian Harrison and then you'll see buo play a tremendous amount um hopefully in my opinion he he will beat out Christian Harrison I'm 100% certain in that I just don't think he starts the year yeah I've got Harrison or Buu I think Harrison starts out you know part of me wonders too can either one of these guys play safety yeah also because I I think there's a lot of question marks in that safety um which we'll talk about here in a minute I've got this one actually Four deep I've got Harrison or Buu I think Harrison starts I think bu plays plenty um I've got Christian Charles third I've got McMurray fourth I've seen him listed a little bit on it and I think in possibly will Brooks could play some star if needed also so you could possibly play Five Guys at that position um all right safety is will be pretty interesting too I think maybe not the starters I I'm curious to see where we go depthwise so who do you have at uh safties uh strong safety I got Andre ttin he's killing peely then it's Andre ton that's your two leaders um he'll play just as much as Mulla did in the past so it'll be hard to see the field behind him unless it's a blowout or he gets injured which we can all we all need to pray that he does not get injured um then behind him we got John Slaughter that's a kid that's very active on social media um puts his heart on his shoulder and you can see that when he plays I think he does see the field more this year hopefully he makes the impact um behind him I got adri faroo he probably won't see the field at all considering they're going to they're going to play tantine till he dies um so I don't really see I don't really see F playing the field unless it's 56 to nothing Paul G now there's a guy we didn't mention at corner hasn't William R played some pretty meaningful snaps yep I mean I don't think top but I think yeah I'm thinking if they need to he could he could jump in possibly to star one of those Corners yeah I I'm kind of curious on the safety like I'm with you turntine he's he's their best safety I don't even think it's close I thought he was better than Wesley Walker to be honest with you when he was there but they played the veteran guy over him um I think he makes I think he does his thing that safety is it interchangeable I'm I'm kind of going Slaughter on that one but could jacobe Thomas or Christian Charles pass possibly back him up if possible as well um the other safety I I'm going will Brooks based on everything I've heard that he's your starter right now I don't know that they are just dead set on that one because based on what I've read is that they're working other guys I'll go will Brooks I'll go jacobe Thomas backing him up they mentioned Christian Charles is an ex factor I think he could factor in really anywhere in this secondary you know the question is is he fully back from his injury which I think he is could he move up and and take the rings on with he safety positions my other question is can Christian Harrison or Buu Possibly play safety if needed will they kind of cross train there as well um so what's your thoughts on that one you know I GNA have to go will Brooks too um everybody loves him it seems media loves him the coaching staff loves him you know I saw as to make the comment that the fan base is going to be a little bit worrisome considering the fact that this is your for Hopple you have a walk-on starting at safety which is a little bit concerning if you don't really look at look at the team um once you kind of see how good will Brooks is then you kind of realize he's just as good as any other guy he's going to get the job done um I I personally love it I think it's nice to have a guy like him that's earned that spot to play there and he's not getting replaced like from a guy like jacobe Thomas uh now do I think jacobe Thomas probably should start in my opinion I would say yeah I'm big on jacobe Thomas but I still think that will Brooks has earned that spot and then I would put Christian Charles behind those to yeah I think that's where it is I mean the bottom line you know I'm not there to see practice every day does it concern me sure it does but so you know these guys have coached a lot of football it's their jobs online too you gota you know I I've got to trust in them until I see different that you know have we had questions about why guys have played and haven't played at times yes but you know there's like you said they like the veteran guys then what we've got to hope for is that will Brooks is everything they say is if he is I I love it I love those kind of stories I hope that's the case I hope that's the case if this is just a guy that they've discovered and he becomes that that solid you know to really good player for them um overall opinion on this secondary you feel pretty good you in the Middle where you at on them I've got to see it to believe it personally I think it's better than it was last year but last year was not a good secondary whatsoever and you can't you can't lie about that they just weren't good um so it's really not that hard to beat them beat that secondary this season on paper it looks really good but then again I'll have to see it on the field and but even though their numbers they will get inflated due to how good this defensive line and linebacker court is yeah I that's going to be the big thing that line can it help them out uh that's going to be the big thing but yeah that that secondary line last year I mean I saw more plays in that bowl game than all jayen McCulla was solid Jaylen McCulla is doing his thing right now in the preseason as well it really hurt him losing Kamal Haden he had shown Kamal Haden had taken I hated it for him he take because the guy gotten his crap uh I'll be honest that South Carolina game the way he talked he he got everything he deserved with the crap because he was getting burnt and he kept talking I I appreciate the confidence but there's a point in time you got to if you're getting your butt handed to you you got to do it but yeah I've got to see it with this unit I'm hoping the bowl game gave me confidence even though iow was not the standard but they still they did a good job they made plays like you said you add McCoy I think McCoy was a great pickup that star position uh I'm that's going to be interesting Gibson we' not heard much about Gibson which tells me it's a good thing he's just doing his job yeah he's doing his job safeties I think T I'm high on him that other one we we got to I feel like we've always on that second it's kind of like the linebackers we've not had two of them at once they really need to build that unit um you know here's the thing Matt Stone put I wish we had Shady now Shady may possibly be a linebacker here it's been said so so that's going to be interesting um let's go to special teams here special teams kicker who you got is kick I'm gonna have an opinion you're gonna know the guy I'm referring to here as well when I get to it if it was me if I was the coach of the Special Teams if I was Mike Eckler I would start Josh turbyfield a kicker do I think it's gonna happen no I think Max Gilbert does get the job considering that's what we've heard kind of throughout Camp um I Love turby Field I'm huge on turby field I want a guy with a massive leg that can kick a 60- yard field goal um you could also throw in JT Carver into the mix um I just don't think that he's really in it that much I still think they'll probably go Gilbert which will piss me off but we we won't talk about that but if it was me I'm picking turbyville I would too I think it's Gilbert you mentioned Carver that's the point I said you're going to you're going to know who I'm talking about you remember another KCK ER who was coming out around that time but Tennessee probably could have had F have just went after him is it the one I went to school with yep yep yeah we watched punt all the time and Guy coach baseball two years is he still at Coastal I think he's still at Coastal Carolina yeah yep Kate Hensley I was so want Kate Hensley cuz he was going to the will ho camps um I mean we saw he gave up basball he was a heck of a baseball player he was gave it up to kick we talked about that a lot and I think uh Carver come on as a walk- on and Hensley end up going on scholarship which I don't blame him but no Hensley was out I saw some of the camp stuff I know there was some guys who covered it was pushing for Carver all the camp stuff I'd seen her Kate Hensley was out kicking Carver um I I would Lov seen Kade kicking I think what hurt Kade was the endgame misses he like he really did like to miss endgames was the thing that killed him recruiting wasse he didn't what now I'm sorry he really liked to miss during games oh okay he was really he was kind of like a Joe Milton great in practice but when the lights are on he's not going to get it done yeah yeah and it could have been I know it was mentioned that that was kind of their guys that they had spotted but Carver I know took the walk on and I don't know about much about Max Gilbert to be honest with you I mean what I know on him he is he's a red shirt freshman from Memphis um you know I don't see I'm kind of like you you've got that big leg you can hit that big field goal why not what you're kicking off one time and and please for the love of God with this team this year can we please stop with these stupid sideline kicks turbyville could kick it out of the end zone every time just kick it out of End Zone give him the ball in the 25 it's senseless yeah there's nothing infuriates me more than Tennessee will have a big drive or something get some momentum and then the kicker kicks it out of bounds he he's he can't I'm sure kickers shank it sometimes but these are by Design I know what they're trying to do they're trying to pen it and try to get some just kick it out of the freaking End Zone I mean it's it's not that tough It's go to NCA football on whatever system you play just kick it out of it every time you don't have to worry about it yep there's no momentum to get from that if you can keep momentum from happening in the kicking game I think you got to do it yeah um yeah I've got Gilbert I've got turbyville kicking off Ross punting I think those are I think turby belt kickoff and rosset punter's given yeah um I don't know that the kicking one's done but I think we're both in agreement on Gilbert now what about punt returner and kick returner you know personally if Jordan Thomas didn't get hurt I would go bu Carter across the board but considering the fact that he may be a starter you just can't put the pressure on him in my opinion of him playing on defense punt returning and kick returning so I've kind of just got him as the kick returner and put um squirrel at punt returner even though personally I'd actually kind of like to see Chaz Nimrod return punts because I really just don't want to risk getting squirrel hurt I've got bu punt returner I think um squirrel's an interesting I've got squirrel kick returner um I've got four guys listed at kick return I got squirrel I have Buu I have Cam Seldon I have pton Lewis on it uh now with Seldon coming off injury I don't know if they want to I mean with Lewis coming off injury I don't know if they but those guys seem kind of like they would be pretty good guys for it as well uh I mean punt return if it's Buu you could go m i mean squirrel I don't know if nimrod's a punt return or not actually could you [Music] go I'm trying to think who else could it be could it be another receiver possibly U yeah Boo's who I expect on it but I I'm kind of like you on it with the Jordan Thomas injury do you want to risk it I mean D Williams wasn't playing on Def he was a weapon in that return game so you know that you didn't really have to risk there wasn't the risk of him getting hurt would hurt your second you didn't want him to get hurt obviously but with buo it's uh I think there's some risk on it so still seem like an 11- one team to use yep always oh I like it I think I think this is a pretty good one right here you know the defensive Line's what we think secondary just needs to be serviceable yep I mean if you leave any secondary out on an island they're not going to look good it's just and I think that's happened I Wonder Part of Me wonders if that's not what's happened over the last couple years but we'll find out a little bit more this year so uh anything else you want to add before we wrap it up no I think the defense will be significantly better than it was last year and that's the only point I'll make yeah I think so I mean it's still in a pro it mode but I mean you like we talked on that defensive line and even the linebackers there there's Talent there we've not had in a while the secondary it's unproven but I do think there's Talent there it's just a matter Tim Banks and Willie Martinez to me are in that Pro it mode as far as their position I like Tim Banks as defensive coordinator there's times I question the plan but overall the defense has gotten better each year that he's been there and you know a lot of Tim Banks the stuff he got criticized for last year when they're on the field all the time because that that was not a great offense last year you know it wears on your defense at times as well but um we're gonna wrap this thing up we had a good show tonight talked depth chart talked recruiting talked all that uh you know Monday nights we'll we'll talk about the time 7 o'clock I mean we seem to get more around 8 we we'll kind of talk about that see where we want to go moving forward obviously update that throughout the week but he's Carrie Frank Rock House of orange sports channel thumbs up share if you have not already hit that subscribe
