I'm ready football I don't know about you who else could it be but man who else could have be but me your man l t welcome to Sunday night football overtime week one in the National Football League lions and Rams rematch of a very compelling NFC Wild Card matchup and uh this did not disappoint uh overtime victory for the Detroit Lions tonight 27 or excuse me 26 I don't think they kicked the extra point 26 um to 20 in overtime big win so not 2726 in overtime as uh Montgomery Gets In The End Zone uh he was dominant in the overtime period he really was the Workhorse that got them down the field into the end zone um I want to say this about the Rams before we start with the lons you know we always start with the victors here to the victors go to spoils um first of all what an excellent football game this was but I don't think there's a more resourceful team in the NFL than the Los Angeles Rams and I say that because sha McVey does a tremendous job of getting the most out of what he has nobody don't I don't think anybody would ever confuse the Los Angeles Rams as the most com complete nor talented team in the NFL they were down a couple of offensive linemen they got another one or two hurt in this game didn't matter they still found a way to compete at a high level especially in the second half for quarter in particular when they scored 17 unanswered points and took the lead 20 to 17 briefly p n huge part of this offense was going to be a massive one-two punch along with Cooper cup the best part awaking UPS the Rams Cooper cup good to see him back fully healthy man last year was rough on him with all the injuries and Koopa now pukaa goes down and we don't know the severity of that injury but um he was carded to the locker room at one point and did not return and so um the Rams they find ways like who thought the Rams would make the playoffs last year with no Cooper cup for much of the year and this rookie that a lot of people didn't know of in puka nura right you look at what they did tonight uh you got castoffs like Williams the former Minnesota product that was drafted by the the Bucks and just hasn't panned out in the NFL he had a nice night um what's my guy's name uh I actually like him um let me see what his name is um so you had Williams or excuse me Tyler Johnson that's his name Tyler Johnson the the University of Minnesota receiver that really just hasn't panned out in the NFL and Demarcus Robinson of the Chiefs you know who has been really solid since leaving Kansas City but never really had the same impact when he went to Baltimore and other places he was solid tonight and you just look at what guys were able to do obviously Cooper Cup 14 catches 110 yards I mean that's how you feature a number one wide receiver right but they just find ways and I mean they're tight ends Kobe Parkinson I actually like Kobe Parkinson a lot but they just find ways I I just I admire their ability to just take whatever it is whatever the cards they're dealt they make the best of it the Rams are the type of team that you deal a [ __ ] hand and they tell you hey I got a two and a possible and then at the end of the uh the game they somehow got three books and you look at their hand you yo how in the hell did you get three books out of that that's the ramps right um this game had no business going overtime this felt a lot like the playoff game from last year if you recall the playoff game last year now it wasn't it the the carbon copy where Detroit couldn't be stopped remember they scored on their first three possessions in that playoff game and looked like they were going to run the Rams out of that building and then the Rams settled in in the second half and they scored I think 13 unanswered points 10 or 13 the the Lions did not scor in the second half of that play playoff game if you recall they they clung to a 24 to 23 lead and had to get a first down at the end of the game to secure the victory um this game wasn't as pronounced in terms of dominance but it was 173 at one point and the Rams were on the ropes and the lines were firmly control of this game right it was 103 at half it was 173 in the third quarter and then the tables turned and both quarterbacks made mistakes right that allowed the other team to maybe hang in or have a better shot at winning the game let's get to Detroit to the victors go to spoils 26 to 20 victory for the lions in this game um Jared G not his sharpest tonight but um he made enough plays right he made enough plays especially on that last drive when they were down 20 to 17 he made enough plays to get them in the field goal range which ultimately tied the game and then he made one throw in overtime and then the rest was all on the ground essentially with um either either back but it was really more so um the um was my man name that came from the Bears a couple of years ago I love him too as a back um Montgomery David Montgomery um it was the David Montgomery show in overtime he just kind of took over the game he would not be denied golf was solid um 18 to 28 217 a touchdown and an interception the pick was pretty costly because at that time of the game they had the Rams danger zone think you're right around the nine minute Mark or so uh of the game you're up three 20 to 17 uh or excuse me at that time they were up um I want to say the score was 17713 at that time so a field goal would have put you up a touchdown a touchdown would have put you up 11 and that would have probably been ball game right so that pick that he threw was is a tough one to stomach and he missed some throws tonight um the one on that last possession of Regulation to uh Gibbs jir Gibbs out of the back field that's a touchdown Gibbs slipped too but that ball wasn't close I don't even if he kept his feet I don't think he catches that football that was a Miss but all in all gol gave him a shot tonight um had a nice little scramble right before the pick I you know it's crazy I I was giving him some props about him using his wheels on that third and six Scramble for the first down and then like the next play or the play after that he throws a pick but between him um it's a quiet night for amarro what did he do tonight he was very quiet because this was the Jameson Williams Show this was his Breakout game um amarro three catches 13 yards it was a very quiet night for him uh but this was all about Jameson Williams and I think as he continues to ascend and grow in this offense they're going to become that much more dangerous because we know what Amar ra can do we know what Sam leapor can do we just saw what Montgomery and Gibbs can can provide you with we know they're Dynamic offensively now you add in a true deep threat a true vertical threat that can stretch the football field and it takes that offense I think to another level because if you think about the Lions offense last year there weren't a lot of vertical shots and a lot lot of times when they did take them it was with Jameson Williams Amar St Brown is not a vertical threat you know he's a intermediate guy that'll get you those explosive plays via the dig the Deep dig or the corner route um he's great run after catch he's tough does all the little things but he's not a vertical threat but Jameson Williams is so now you have guys at all levels that can really hurt you because armar Rob St Brown and Sam laort supporter can hurt you on the short to intermediate and now Jameson Williams can hurt you on the vertical threat and uh five catches 100 and some change the big touchdown catch and run I was a little nervous he had gotten hurt on a catch and run uh earlier in the game and I was like get up get up man they just got you back get up um so glad he got up and and he got active in this game um that offensive line is so good in Detroit and it it's it's so refreshing when you see a team in vest in their lines and they've done it on both sides with Aiden Hutchinson and um they also did it on the defensive or offensive side um with um The Tackle out of Oregon he was outstanding and like um Chris Collinsworth said anytime they need a run they go to the right side he's so dominant my goodness I I was listening to Trent Williams he gave his list of his top five tackles in the league excluding himself and he put um the Lions right tackle at the top of his list of the best tackles in football and um he is just a a load to deal with and they ran right behind him in that overtime period I really like how the Lions revamp their secondary hopefully Colton Davis is fine um but I like what they've done that was their biggest weakness a season ago defensively was their secondary wasn't very good especially their corners and um the go out sign Carlson Davis um they drafted uh inis riestra and um the the kid from Alabama in the first round and um that changes fundamentally I think he was a second round pick as a matter of fact I think fundamentally that changes what they can do and and how comfortable they are being aggressive um Aiden Hutchinson is an animal I was talking to my buddy it it was so funny because he's like Aiden Hutchinson ain't that guy as an edge rusher and I'm like what what are you what are you talking about aah Hutchinson is a problem what are you talking about and the Rams had no answer for him tonight they couldn't block him he's turning into like a TJ watt light where he's just Relentless and I'm seeing spin moves now so he's just putting it all together we know the speed is there the ability to to dip and rip um and bend the corner and flatten to the quarterback we saw it on that last play of Regulation but we saw the spin move on that crucial third down when the Rams were trying to run out the clock and if they get that third down conversion the game's not over because uh the Rams did not manage to clock well late with that Kiren Williams run getting out of bounds so they still had two timeouts and a two-minute warning so they still would have been able to get another stop defensively get the ball back it just wouldn't have been as much time but as they ultimately had when you know with the stop that they got but that was a big play in the game and aidah Hutchinson spin you know gets to Stafford really makes him you know kind of Rush the throw a bit and it goes over his intended Target so Hutchinson is such a problem and when you look at the way that team is built such a good roster man they've done a really good job of constructing that thing and tonight I think you saw a full team Victory from the Detroit Lines there were times last year where they had to win shootouts had to come from behind had to there had to be different types you know of heroics this felt like a total team Victory you know the defense had to pick up the offense the offense had to pick up the defense defense special teams came through when they needed him to uh with baits with the kick to send it to overtime felt like everybody kind of chipped in defense made a big play forcing an interception of Stafford um but then the defense gave up the touchdown and then the offense had to come down and get the field goal so it's like there was good balance between the the offense and the defense um it's going to be interesting to see because one of my things and I think this is a good gritty win it's tough It's I think what the Lions needed um as I'm anxious to see and I've been talking about this all offseason it's one thing to be the hunted uh the hunter excuse me it's another thing to be the hunted right and you know the thing I admire about the Lions and the reason why I don't see them succumbing to the pressure of being the hunted now is last year people knew they were coming people could see them on the horizon like yo watch out for the Lions and we were talking about them I didn't I wasn't a Believer last year everybody else was though and I said I gotta see it because I've there's too many times I've picked the Lions as a Chic pick to do something and then you know obviously it didn't get done so I was like I'm not buying it they're gonna have to show me but a lot of people said I believe in the brand of football that Dan Campbell is preaching and he has them playing and they're going to win that Division and and that's EX exactly what they did last year and so now I wanted to see how a team that has never had those real those real expectations you gota go all the way back to the early 90s 91 92 93 in that time frame to go to a Lions team that had the these types of expectations and that Lions team in 91 went all the way to the NFC Championship Game and so just like this team did and so there were big expectations in 992 that weren't met right so the question is now can they take the momentum that they built last year knowing that teams are gunning for them they're one of the best teams in the conference not just in the NFC North they're one of the best teams in the NFC knowing that everyone's out to get them how are they going to respond this was a great test at home the Rams are a good football team and as I just talked about with the Rams they're well coached and I I don't know if many teams that get more out of less than the Rams do and they were able to get it done at home Stafford was fanastic tonight and they still won the game that's a testament to this Lions team that grit and toughness that they talk about the tenacity that they play with they are a representation of their head coach Dan Campbell and you saw it in overtime they weren't going to let up you know um The Run game was working on that last possession and so many coordinators in this league they outsmart themselves right oh we're killing them on the ground now this play action fake is really gonna get him right and then you don't hit the play action fake or you take a sack or something stupid happens and instead of you sticking with the ground game and continuing to turn yards and continuing to matriculate the ball down the field now you find yourself in a third and six and you got to have it instead of getting another five on second and six and now it's third and one now we know the lions are going for it on fourth down if if it came up to fourth and one right because that's who they are so Dan Campbell he he didn't Flinch once he saw uh Montgomery break off that first run in overtime he's like oh yeah we F to feed him he going to take us home tonight that's exactly what they did fed him all the way down um uh the field essentially jir giz may had a carry or two in there um to supplement him but it it was the David Montgomery show in overtime essentially um that run uh off the right side behind pan where they got all the way down to the one to me epitomizes who the lions are that run was stopped probably at the five or six yard line and that offensive line literally and Montgomery kept his feet churning but that line literally pushed him from the five or six yard line all the way down to the one at that point you knew the game was over barring some kind of catastrophe like a fumbled snap Center uh quarterback exchange the game was over they weren't going to stop David Montgomery from getting the endzone one yard out and I just look at this Lions team and the way they're built and their mentality and I just love that they don't back down from any Challenge and they're they're never going to try to be something that they're not and they're always going to be who they are and I love that even they stay true to who they were in the NFC championship game and a lot of people gave them grief about going forward on fourth down they should have took the points and there were instances where I thought maybe you should have taken the points there but but by and large Lov their mentality and I loved what he did in that NFC Championship game because that's who they are and I think you can get behind that as a player when you understand who you are because your coach clearly sets that out for you of who you are and who you're going to be at all times and that's not going to change no matter the situation it's not going to change we're going to remain aggressive we're always gonna mash the gas all gas no breaks and if we crash we crash but but damn it we're gonna always push the pedal to the metal right and um this was a gritty win tonight you know tough tough talked about the lack of production offensively this is not a normal night offensively for them this is one of the better offenses in football golf wasn't extremely Dynamic tonight alar Ro St Brown was almost non-existent you didn't get a lot from Sam leapor although he had a a huge catch one of the bigger catches for them in the second half that catch and then the helmet to helmet contact that kind of set them up and set the stage for the game tying field goal at the end of regulation but um he really wasn't a big huge factor in this game it was really Jameson Williams right but the defense showed up they made enough plays especially The Pick of Stafford in the end zone that was huge because at that time it felt like the Rams were wrestling the momentum away from the lions at that point of the game and instead of them going in getting a touchdown or at least getting a field goal and feeling good about themselves you get the turnover and you preserve that 17 to3 lead and it really put them in a really good spot to win this game so um big win in overtime win the toss take the toss and don't let them see the light of day you know that's how you draw it up you know you go to OT you win the toss you receive the football and you don't look back and the Rams never got to touch it that's big boy football it's big boy football at its best and you know what's crazy is they hadn't scored you know a touchdown since the third quarter they were really struggling they had a stretch there where they had three consecutive three and outs in the second half and it was spanning the end of the third into the fourth quarter so they were struggling offensively and then you you get the The Possession to get the field goal before uh the end of regulation the tie of the game and then you get the ball in overtime and you kick it in the high gear and you win the game and that's what the good teams do they find a way to get it done and it ain't always gonna be pretty but it needs to be gritty and most importantly it needs to be a dub and they got it done tonight and like I said I felt like this was a total team Victory you would have Lov to have seen what would have happened had Carlton Davis been able to pick that pass off with about 11 seconds left um I think the Lions still had a couple timeouts so they would have been able to work any portion of the field and they were probably only a good maybe 20 yards away from because that ball I think he dropped it at like the 44 yard line it would have been the Lions 44 you're probably 15 yards away from attempting a 64 yard field goal or something like that so it would have been interesting to see what would have happened had he um caught the football but he didn't but big win for the Lions it's good to see Jameson Williams come to life if he is able to do what he did tonight it just makes the lions that much more dangerous and harder to defend on the offensive end because you really didn't have to worry about them being an explosive or dynamic offense you really had to guard against that play action fate then the Dig route over the middle to armar St brown or or Corner route or or hitting La Porter up theam or something like that now you got to defend the entire field and that could open up so many avenues for the Detroit Lions if James Williams can stay healthy and they can really integrate him into this offense and you saw you got a peak see at it tonight and and he's such a dynamic weapon it's not just in the P game they gave it to him you know as a runner and he had a nice little 13 yard reverse as well so he can do a lot of different things with the ball in his hands so um that's going to be fun to watch his development and growth and how that could impact the Lions moving forward um for the Rams it was um it's a slow start for them the defensively I thought they played well early um it wasn't until the second quarter where the Lions really started to get their footing scored 10 points in that quarter and um really started to put the pressure on the Rams and uh Stafford came to life in the second half though I mean and and he wasn't playing poorly in the first half it just wasn't they weren't finishing drives right and they had penalties and they had injuries and things of that nature but in the second half Stafford came to life and he was phenomenal what he 34 of 49 3177 a touchdown that that was a really gut-wrenching interception I saw some bad interceptions thrown by some good quarterbacks today in some spots where you go what in the hell were you thinking doing that right Jaylen Herz is a great example throwing back across his body in the end zone that's a no no he knows better than that right Stafford kind of the same deal like bro what are you doing trying that throw in the red zone of all places taking points off the scoreboard are you crazy have you gone mad you no better than that and uh that was that was a costly one I mean again you think about it they lose this game in overtime you just took points and you can say the same thing about the Lions Jared G's interception came in in I think the Red Zone if not just outside of the red zone so another scoring opportunity but staffords you literally were in the Red Zone like golf I think they were outside the Red Zone but they were close staffords was taken away in the end zone like it just that's a no no you can't have that happen happen but outside of that interception I thought I mean one of the things I I've admired over the years with Stafford and I've always felt this way about him he's one of the toughest sobs to ever play the quarterback position he takes a beating back there and there's this throw he made in this game and Collinsworth almost soiled himself I'm talking about I think he might have had the his underwear he was going off so bad about this throw but he was right it was one of those throws where I went yo what the was that like whoa um there's no way that Ball's supposed to get there so it's the play where he I think he hit Demarcus Robinson if I'm not mistaken on this particular throw it's a third down and the lions are getting pressure and it's like three dudes in Stafford's face and I'm like get rid of it man and he's looking to his right but he does that Stafford [ __ ] where he throws it to his left but he's looking right and as he's getting hit it felt like he was just getting rid of it because it didn't seem like he was throwing the football to a particular receiver just felt like he was throwing it to a spot right so I didn't think it was gonna be completed I just thought he was trying to get rid of it he was under heavy duress like he he didn't even have a chance to step into the throw it was so bad and somehow as he's facing the right he throws across his body to the left with three dudes in his face as he's getting hit and he gets it to Demarcus Robertson and it's he does just get it to him he gets it to him out in front of him in stride so he can catch and turn up the field I was just flabbergast at how that even got there how he was able to make that throw get enough on it and put it in the position that he did like Point accuracy to catch it and get up the field and that's vintage Matthew Stafford he had a no look like two plays prior to that where he scrambles on a third down and he's rolling to his right and he's looking right and he throws it to his left you know without looking um Stafford is is still good and I talk some [ __ ] I'm not I'm not gonna lie I'm not gonna front I talk some [ __ ] about Stafford because it felt like his body was starting to fail him and I didn't know how much he had left he's dealing with you can see he's dealing with an ankle injury already it's a young season he's I mean how old is Matthew Stafford anyway because Collinsworth called him an old man and my wife is like old man why he call him an old man I said because he's old I said he's like 36 37 38 he's one of them three she's like I didn't know he was that old I said well now you know let me see how old Matthew Stafford is I'm gonna go with 38 Matthew Stafford is 36 I should have stuck with my gut I said 36 to my wife then I I said 36 37 38 and then as I was just thinking about it I was like 09 that's a long time I'm gonna put 38 on them he 36 years old but he probably got the body of a 44 year old as much as he's been beat up throughout his career he's already dealing with ankle this year and the season just started so um seems like he's always dealing with something but when he's on he gives the Rams a chance and I don't know how good the Rams are going to be this year no Aaron Donald is interesting it's weird you know it's it's weird seeing certain teams without certain players that's one of them no Aaron Donald but and that's a tough division Arizona is vastly improved as I told you and I and I I know it's one game small sample size but I'm telling you the Cardinals are going to compete their asses off this year Seahawks won today they're interesting because I really don't know what to make of them yet with a new head coach but that was a gritty win today against Denver and then we know the 49ers are supposed to be good we're going to see what they look like in week one but that's going to be an interesting Division and I think the Rams going to be right in the mix but it it all hinges upon excuse me the health of Matthew Stafford you don't have Stafford you don't have a shot you know but Shawn McVey believes he can win as long as Matthew Stafford is under Center and tonight is another one of those examples for really three and a half for really three quarters this [ __ ] wasn't going the way that the Rams wanted it to go they were hanging tough the defense was giving them a chance but the offense really just couldn't get it going and then finally later latter stages of the third they get the touchdown to kind of break through and then that that sent off a chain of events of 17 unanswered points they scored 10 in the fourth and final frame uh or what was supposed to be the final frame took the lead on the Stafford to cup connection uh What A Catch by Cooper Cup on the sidelines oh my God Cooper cup is so good the best part of waking up the Rams Cooper cup God he's so good 14 catches 10 whatever yards tonight um the touchdown grab God he's good it's good to see him back healthy man I missed watching Cooper cup play the position because he's such a joy to watch um and it was supposed to be he and puka Thea I hope that is not a serious injury because I was looking forward to seeing those two together do damage um we know Coupe can handle it by himself he did it in 2021 when they won the Super Bowl but you know With a Little Help from Odell Beckham but that was really the Cooper cup show I think that is one of the greatest single season performances from a receiver I've ever seen in my life that Cooper cup 2021 season so it's good to see him back healthy um the Rams they're going to be a problem you know and uh it's good to see my old friend cam curl out there but do they have enough you know is the question I I sit here and I give sha McVey and the Rams all the credit in the world for taking uh a little and making a lot out of it uh but how far can that take you how far can that really take you is the question but I don't think anybody does it better than the Rams do in terms of just getting the most out of what you got not complaining about not having a lot but just getting the most out of what you got that's the Los Angeles Rams they fell short tonight I truly believe had they won the toss they probably would have won the game it really felt like whoever won the toss in overtime was probably gonna win the game because I really felt like Stafford was in a in a Groove in a Zone and I know he had a chance late to ice the game by getting that first down but felt like he was get he was in a rhythm and if they would have gave it to him in overtime I really feel like he was G he was gonna hurt him but Lions won the toss took it right down the field scored and won this game 26 to 20 so um let's get to the comment section see what you guys have to say before we get out of here uh and and let me ask you this question in your mind's eye are these two playoff teams that we watch tonight I think most people feel like the lions are a playoff team and one of the best teams in the NFC are the Rams a playoff team or not let me know in the comment section take command for life thank you for the Super Chat greatly appreciate you who writes can't believe I already lost the Soul Survivor you me and about 30 other people they say the same thing and I did not feel comfortable picking Cincinnati I really truly didn't I really did not feel comfortable picking them and I did it anyway because I'm like New England's going to suck even if Cincinnati doesn't play their aame or their b game their C game should be enough to beat Cincinnati uh the the Patriots and if you watch the game I watched the entire game start to finish everything that could go wrong did go wrong and it still took all of that to get them to win but they won right and the the part that was the most sickening was they couldn't stop the run it's not like Joe burrow was horrible in this game they just weren't consistent offensively everything was short and underneath they got no explosive plays but the thing that pissed me off was they couldn't stop Rand Dre Stevenson he kicked their ass they had a drive in the first half that was like 10 minutes when they scored their first touchdown they they mucked up the game and Cincinnati allowed them to muck up the game by running the ball eating up the clock and then at the end when they needed a stop first of all I thought that their head coach and technically by the book he did the right thing but I thought Zack Taylor bitched up at the end of that game because it's Fourth and five you're deep in your own territory I get it if you don't get this the game's over you're down 1610 you don't get this they're already in field goal range and all they got to do is make a chip shot field goal and you lose but I'm applying pressure at that point it's Fourth and five I need to get this drive going it's two minutes and some change left I got all three of my timeout so I get why they they punted the football but you couldn't stop the run all day long so what changes now because the game's on the line all of a sudden you gonna stop the run now he was kicking your ass the entire game you couldn't stop ran J Stevenson so they punt the ball away and he Ram that [ __ ] down and goddamn throat and I just sat there and I think I'm might have vomiting in my mouth watching that [ __ ] and my wife was like I know you're not about to be out of this Survivor pool this quick and I was like yeah this [ __ ] is over man and she just looked at me with this look of disgust like I can't believe you're done in week one again this is the second time in three years I was out of the Survivor pool in week one I ain't [ __ ] in the Survivor pool man I'm a disgrace I'm a disgrace Jensen Richards thank you for the Super Chat greatly appreciate you Jensen Richards right Su God had a quiet game Lions have weapons though yeah he had a very quiet game but that's that goes to show you that they do have weapons that he could have the performance that he had which was awfully quiet and still put up 26 points and still have a receiver go over 100 yards and still have guys like um Montgomery out of the Back Field Gibbs out of the backfield you know the tight end Sam leap Porter and and still have weapons other guys that can contribute and you you're fine right it's a well-built roster it really truly is a very well-built roster to say the least Don everheart thank you for the Super Chat greatly appreciate you thank you for your generosity Don can't thank you enough thank you for being a member of the Mobb who writes good stuff Lou get some rest oh I will after this stream for sure it's been a long weekend really long day but a long weekend just kind of soaking up all the content um all the games and you know um today was fun it was exhausting because it was the first real first Sunday of the NFL season and I was on football overload like I had the multiscreen going up I was watching six games at once today at the multiscreen on the television with the four and then I brought another TV down and so I had the TVs side by side and then I had two on that TV right so I was watching six games and then when the second half came on I was watching all four of the four o' clock games the Cowboys Seahawks the Cowboys and Browns Seahawks and Broncos and Chargers and Raiders on one TV and then commanders was just on one TV by itself so I took in a lot of ball today pause lot of football today um and I loved every second of it it felt good to be back um it it really it really feels good to be back I was telling my wife you know it's it's it's funny because on one hand I hate not having my Sunday like I hate not having Sundays to spend with my family really like the kids and my wife are around but like I'm focused on the games right so my wife is talking to me like hey can you do this for me I'm like yeah yeah yeah and then two seconds later I forget what she asked me to do because I'm like I'm locked into the game right but I love this [ __ ] man Don I love it I love it man and so on one hand I want that extra day to spend with my family but on the other hand I'm like yo this is I love this [ __ ] and you know when it's gone for so long and then you get it back it's like oh my God this is great and so I this is my favorite time of the year as we just get into the swing of things and the flow of fall you get into the holiday season and oh the warm and fuzzies like it's this is just a great time so today was the first of many Sundays that I'm going to enjoy this season I hope with better results obviously for the good guys and I think we'll see them play better than they did today but um I gotta pick better games man I gotta be better in terms of my wins and losses i i w the bed this week uh but I'll be better I I I learned a lot about a lot of teams Deshawn Watson stinks man golly the Browns he going to go down and I know I'm off the beaten path here he's going to go down as the worst free agent signing in NFL history the amount of money they paid him and the return on investment isn't even remotely in the same Stratosphere he stinks Godly the Browns I know they're regretting this [ __ ] with every fiber of their being they were better off with Joe Flaco and I'm not bullshitting you he stinks my goodness Cowboys dominant ated him he's awful he and he and I said this when they signed him when they I said he and when they traded for him he doesn't fit the offensive scheme of Kevin stansky and it's like they just ignored all of that and figured he'd be fine because he's a great talent they're finding out that [ __ ] is that is not how this [ __ ] works at all ain't my team so I don't care but poy is that tough to watch John wi right Seahawks got their first win against the Broncos under Mike McDonald earlier today I'm getting used to the new Seahawks defensive look right now yeah they were flying around man they made it tough on a rookie you know and it's always good to get a rookie in your first game as a head coach uh you know as a defensive minded guy it's always nice to get a rookie in your first game that you can kind of flu they had bow Knicks they know if he didn't know if he was coming or going picked him off twice sacked him about three or four times really made it tough on them and um they got Gino I was so happy Gino had a 34 yard touchdown Scamp I said look at Gino when he he took off I said Gino's gonna go I said that's about 27 yards it was 34 yard I said look at Gino old ass picking him up and putting him down good for him Samuel s writes I want to pick the Lions to represent the NFC in the Superbowl but Jared go gives me a little too much pause yeah I I I I really think that you can win a Super Bowl with Jared G but I'm not sure you can win a Super Bowl with Jared G you know what I mean does that make sense he's gone to a Super Bowl and then when he got there they scored three points I I just don't know if you can win a Super Bowl with with Jared go or not um HTTR Carson writes Daniel Jones will be the skapegoat in New York this year and they will retain d o who is a clown I'm okay with him staying out look I don't know first of all until Brian Deo gets his quarterback or they get him a quarterback I I think he's gonna be safe is and so I think you're right I think you're you're not wrong I don't think D bold is a clown I don't love his methodology of of how he goes about doing things I think he's an [ __ ] which is fine you know a lot of coaches are [ __ ] um I don't prefer my coach to be an [ __ ] though he's an [ __ ] so and he knows he's an [ __ ] and he'll tell you he's an [ __ ] if you watch Hard Knock he pretty much said I'm an [ __ ] so um I think that they're not going to move on from him until he gets a quarterback and so that could be two more years like you could get a rookie and you don't expect a rookie to come in and and turn things around immediately so Deo signed a fiveyear deal is my guess and my guess is he'll get five years because this is year three you draft a rookie next year and then he's probably going to be you know marginal at best in this rookie season and in that fifth year which will be the last year of deo's contract and I don't think they're going to extend him before then um you say all right let's see what you got and if it ain't good enough we just won't renew your contract and we'll look for another coach right it's not a great position to be in because if you let Deo be in the you know conversation and a part of the decision-making process as far as the quarterback is concerned and then you move on from him you're putting the onus on the Young quarterback to adjust to somebody else coming it's not a great situation but again that's not my team that's not my problem but it is the situation the Giants find themselves in because Daniel Jones isn't the answer I don't care what he does this season Daniel Jones is not the answer everyone knows it they know it and they're stuck with him for one more year so Kevin the prf writes I'm going to need ltn Soul Survivor in merch shop so decades from now I can sitting in front of in the front row of Jo Burrow's Hall of Fame ceremony and yell ha ha you never won a Super Bowl # salty I you know what I need a shirt that says I survived the Lou Network Survivor pool I can't wear that shirt because I've never survived but I need one of those shirts um I can't even make it out of week one I'm a disgrace I I'm not mad at Joe burrow I'm mad at myself I didn't realize Joe burrow was one and four and now one and five in week ones I didn't know that if I would have known that that alone would have been enough for me to be like N I ain't effing with him but once I found out T Higgins wasn't going which blew me away I didn't know anything was wrong with him if I would have known that I would have never picked them but if if and buts were candy and nuts Oh What a Wonder ful world it would be I'm a sucker I got I I got what I deserve and so now I turn my full attention to winners and losers boy I feel like a dumbass a complete and utter dumbass metaphor but you see that both teams that are good feed their number one wide receiver all day and I know Amar Ross St Brown didn't have you know a lot of opportunities I wonder how many targets he had he only had three catches in this game as I mentioned already for like with 13 yards I believe it was so this wasn't one of his better like the argument you're making this isn't the game to make that argument right but the man had like 120 catches last year so like we know that they feed him to rock quite a bit in Detroit like this is a aberration this isn't something he had six Targets in the game and three catches for 13 yards that's an aberration for him you know next week he'll have 13 targets 10 catches and 132 yards in a touchdown next week like they're gonna feed him the rock unlike our guy where we got to beg and plead for this man to even get a Target [ __ ] is ridiculous it's very frustrating and Cooper cup I said he had 14 catches that didn't how many targets did he have forget forget about the catches [ __ ] if you got 14 catches it won't 14 for 14 how many targets did he have 21 targets it might take Terry two months to get to 21 targets he had 21 Targets in the first game of the season o oh man oh man oh man oh man My Mind is Playing Tricks on Me um DJ 23 thank you for the Super Chat greatly appreciate you or DJ 23 says I hate the violence but we need to smack Ron upside his head for picking Forbes over Gonzo I second that emotion um I didn't like it when it was when the pick was made but you know I'mma roll with it because he's here what are you going to do at that but it was it was a bad pick in the moment and it's even worse now because the kid is overmatched excuse me he's overmatched in the NFL and um I don't think he gets it you know he seems like the type of person that and and I I haven't seen like I don't know he like I don't get a Vibe or a sense from him that he's like a bad apple type dude like he's got a bad attitude or anything like that but he seems like the type of person that it's not his fault and I don't I can't say that I don't I don't know that nothing he's done has shown me that he blames others for his shortcomings I'm just saying I could see him being that type of person cuz what he said during the sideline interview during the dolphins that gives me me wo is me type of Vibes so yeah it's a little frustrating um well this was a good game excellent game I told you the NFL got it right with these games in week one and I think they're going to cap it off with a barn burner tomorrow night uh all three of the Prime Time games thus far have and started us off with a nailbiter and a barn burner in KC with the uh Ravens and the Chiefs it went to uh Brazil for Packers and uh Eagles that came down to a hell Mary so you had a toe in the first game a hell Mary in the second game and overtime decided this third pre uh uh Prime Time game and now we'll see what the Niners and jets bring us and I think that game's going to be awesome right so NFL got it right in kickoff weekend with the matchups and this one did not disappoint and I asked you guys do you think we watched two pre uh two playoff teams tonight or just one uh it's kind of hard to tell what what's going to become of the Rams if I I'm G just go out on Lim and say if Matthew Stafford is healthy we watch two playoff teams tonight that's a big because Stafford we know might not make it to the Finish Line right but if he gets there and plays the bulk of the Season he's gonna miss one or two games at some point you know that but if he can play 15 games this year 14 games I think the Rams are a playoff team I think the Rams are a playoff team anyway I digress um Lions get it done in OT 26 to 20 uh big win for the Lions they did not have their fast ball tonight offensively especially how many let me let me look at some numbers real quick before we get out of here um I want to see what they were on third Downs how many total yards they had in this game both teams were pretty good on third Downs ryms were five of 12 lions were six of 13 um lions were one of one on fourth down and the Rams were one of two uh Rams had 387 seven yards of total offense Lions 363 um man the r lions were good on the ground 163 yards rushing 5.3 yards per tote that is awesome work there on the ground and um the red zone is really what hurt and I you know I love to go to the Red Zone stat both teams uh scored twice in the Red Zone but the Rams were two of five in the red zone meanwhile the lions were two of four in the red zone and that's the difference in the game right you can't go in the red zone five times and only come out with two touchdowns and Stafford threw a pick in so they came out with no points one time that that'll get you beat that'll get you beat anyway I digress uh that's going to do it for me your man Lou T here on Sunday night football overtime Lions get it done in in OT and uh boy what a fantastic ball game this was back and forth especially in the fourth quarter but the Lions Prevail in overtime winning the toss taking the ball down the field and scoring it turned into the David Montgomery show in OT as they win and get to one and0 on the season uh Stafford was fantastic but he fell short now your attention if you're a Rams fan turns to the injury status of one puka Naka how signifant ific and severe is that injury you're hoping that your star wide receiver isn't on the shelf for a significant amount of time if it's a minor injury you've dodged a bullet and this offense is going to be fun to watch this season if it's a significant injury then it turns back into the Cooper cup show we've seen that before we know that [ __ ] works too so anyway I digress you guys get out of here enjoy the rest of your evening we'll reconvene tomorrow Lou T network podcast uh Monday night football overtime if you're a commander fan Commander Nightly News it's tell the truth Monday we got a lot of Truth telling to do tomorrow so uh a lot of that in store I'll see you guys next time take care God bless good night
