this morning New Orleans is waking up to a tropical storm warning but also now a hurricane watch because of hurricane Francine on the way throughout the day right now no rain we expect that to change as we head on towards the daylight hours and the heaviest rain coming through as we had this afternoon into this evening the good news is it's a quick hitter bad news is it could bring perhaps three to five to even 8 in of rain here with hurricane force wind gust in the area because that's center now forecast to stay west of us we also see that enhanced risk of tornadoes not only here across New Orleans much of Southeast Louisiana and that threat extends into Coastal Mississippi even areas of Alabama for that risk of tornadoes always a risk when you have a landfalling tropical storm or hurricane in New Orleans Paul goodlow The Weather Channel
