we were trying to stay away from Martinez um Thompson was down yeah so uh look I know I had some 50-50 balls I can't run away from everybody everybody in the bullpen I I'm going to wear our guys down so um I was I was excited to get floro in a game he hasn't pitched in five or six days Paul SE wall the same thing um you know we just got clipped we got clipped in a couple really key situations why Paul that situation not just what I was saying you know I can't run away from I can't run away from everybody and I want to give Paul a chance to get some Rhythm and go in there and uh and and and find his way and it's getting better it's getting better believe it or not it's getting I know it's hard for me to sit here and convince you guys of that based on what do line score look like but it's getting better I think we're an arm fake away from executing an out of third base and being out of that inning um you know that's the type of play that you set up for months you know I keep it's like it's like calculus I keep track of what we do with each one of our first and third opportunities um and you know sometimes we throw sometimes we don't we been in a we've been in a very big rhythm of throwing through in those situations the Dodger Dodgers clearly thought we were going to throw through and we got we had the right call we just didn't execute and I think that was that for me is the part of the game that bothers me more than anything tonight not the pitching not the balls that get by our catcher um but the fact that we didn't execute a big out first and third to Total difference in the game can you tell us what you're' seen with Paul beyond the results that still conf have confidence in him um um yeah I think he's an unbelievable competitor um he's just going through a little bit of a little bit of a rough time I the thing I like about him is he's Landing a slider and and I know last year it was kind of revers it was just a lot of four seam fast balls and couldn't find the slider so I think the slider is in play for me and to me that that's a separator for a relief pitcher he's got to find that fast ball location um I didn't I didn't see it I just heard it heard about it I think it was supposed to be down in away to Smith and it was left MD in I'm not sure if that's that was accurate I only heard it those are the types of things that we got to figure out with Paul and he'll get there do you have any s for why thatch pass um no I have not but I'll have those conversations it's some point in the next 10 hours 12 hours I don't I don't know why that the selection of pitches were were was made I think I saw GLE warming up at some point before seaall men the game was there like C situation where you would have gone if we were ahead yeah I I knew we were a little bit thin in the bullpen I had a couple positive rooll mindsets that involved Puck GLE and I was going to try and stretch that out as best best that I could with Thompson and Martinez could have pitched but I only want to pitch him in a positive role um really working hard to stay away from him with two in a row so um you know it's part of the [Music] game we all sitting like the May for
