Bear Fire burning west of the North Valleys grows larger, evacuations in place

we're learning tonight that the be fire has now grown to nearly 12200 Acres yeah that's right the the fire is near Sierra Brooks west of Cold Springs and across the state line the evacuation order is for the Sierra Brooks area the Sierra County Sheriff's Office says there is an immediate threat to life Michaela Hardy is live at the scene and has been watching the firefighting efforts for a few hours Michaela how is it looking out there well Alexander it's actually a lot better out here compared to how it looked earlier today you see there are still a lot of agencies out here kind of taking care of that fire there a lot it's a lot darker obviously but one thing for sure is that when you look at the fire let's take a look right by here it is almost completely out at least out almost completely burnt on the mountain you can see there's just a little bit there not a really lot you can kind of see all the hot spots and stuff but really looks absolutely nothing like it did earlier but we'll T we'll have it but now let's have a look at how fast it did grow earlier throughout the day bulldozers clearing the mountain aircrafts crowding the sky in multiple agencies including cow fire Grey Eagle fire protection and Sierra County Sheriff's Office working together to battle the bef fire and enforcing an evacuation here at Sierra Brooks I got a call from multiple neighbors and my husband my husband used to be a wildland firefighter and he told me he was out in the back cutting line and we need to evacuate and you get home immediately long says she won't be actually leaving her house but is packing a go bag just in case we got our passports our birth certificates all the important things important pictures that you can't replace important items that you can't replace the fire continues to grow throughout the evening jumping across Smith Neck Road and the wind blowing it further across the mountains yeah and like I said earlier it is a lot better today they are still working on putting that fire out so the public is asked to avoid the area and keep updated on that evacuation notice right now the evacuation is still in place so make sure to keep in a close eye on that covering the story live Michaela Hardy 2 News Nevada
