when ASU takes the field on Saturday a familiar face to Arizona high school fans will be leading the visiting Wyoming Cowboys in former Red Mountain QB Evans faota his path to lar was not a straight one the quarterback's recruitment happened during the pandemic which complicated things in more than one way all those players got that extra year of Eligibility so it kind of made roster spots a little funky so um I decided to you know head the Joo route two years ago the two quarterbacks that were here transferred out and then that kind of opened the door for me and kind of how I've been here well it took a little longer than he thought zota ended up in laramy after all and helped Wyoming win the Arizona Bowl in 20123 and the cowboy state has embraced him I just love it here I love laramy I love the people um I just love how everybody has your back uh just it's so welcoming here um and just being able to play for the state being able to play for the people um you know the one Wyoming model that we have here I think that's the coolest thing of all time and just being able to have that opportunity is is why I chose to stay play here in it's another work day it's another day in the lab his frame jersey number and physical play style may make fans reminiscent of another former Cowboy QB Josh Allen it's just you know big shoes to step into and I think I I wanted to take on that challenge I you know told myself you know this is going to be a lot um but you're more than capable of it and although it was Josh's number at one point now it's my it's my turn to write my own story with number and the former Red Mountain standout gets to end his 2023 season and start his 2024 season back home in the state of Arizona for sports 360 a I'm Jordan ham
