Republican strategist John Jordan yes so we've um we've been getting drip fed different articles over the past couple of days John about how the two candidates are preparing kamla Harris she's been locked up in hotel rooms for the past 5 days getting ready um with even characters pretending to be Donald Trump this is according to the Wall Street Journal and then you've got Donald Trump who's not really doing that he's just continuing with policy discussion so um how do you think both are approaching it well there is some prep on the Trump side some formal prep but it's not uh not nearly what it is for Harris I mean keep in mind this will be Trump's seventh presidential debate uh so he's uh you know very comfortable in this and this will be kamla Harris's first she's done the vice presidential debates before and when she was running for president in the Democrat primary debates she did not um do particularly well and her staff is concerned about this which is why they're sealing her up in a motel room in Pittsburgh and going to such efforts to prepare her because the rules prevent her from having notes or a telepro her and those are two things that she's always has at every every appearance that she does she never does anything live with the Press Trump on the other hand um you know he he never does anything with a with notes or a teleprompter even when he probably should so the format kind of favors Trump um and the comma Harris campaign seems to be concerned which is why the prep and why there's some on the Democrat side that think she might be what they call overcooked okay well what do you think the tactics are going to be for both well Trump trump you look at the poll right I mean Trump is winning by double digits on the three most important issues um facing American voters and that is crime in um the border and the economy Trump is up by high single to low double digits in every single survey on that um the race now is tied but it seemed that uh kamla Hara seems to be in a deteriorating position especially in swing States and she's was behind in a huge poll this last week done by the New York Times so the trend lines aren't going her way she needs to reverse that um she will be trying to get a viral video moment um where she looks presidential and kind of and but uh without getting into tooo many policies specifics Trump on the other hand will be trying to talk about what he did as president and contrast that with her flip-flops and issue how she changed positions on the issues and how he ties her to the Biden Administration whose policies are not popular in this country abortion is a strong argument for KLA Harris how do you expect that to play out because um Donald Trump it seems is still trying to figure out a way to counteract that yeah so abortion is an issue that the American Media likes to talk about and it was important in 2022 but if you look at every single survey and I'm not talking about Republican surveys or democrat surveys I'm talking about all of them and including a lot of done by by Major media Outlets abortion is like issue between number seven and nine on on which on its level of import for American voters more to the point if you look at the cross tabs the the groups to whom abortion is a very important issue are solidly in by in Harris's Camp anyway so abortion probably isn't going to move that many move that many voters okay we shall see John Jordan appreciate your time as always and your Insight we'll talk to you soon
