Cleveland weather: Weather Impact Alert day on Tuesday in Northeast Ohio

We begin with that weather impact alert day. It's just getting steadily warmer and warm it. I know it's a little frightening, dangerous heat is what we're talking about on the horizon. Here, there are some schools that are already canceling classes for tomorrow and that is because of that heat chief, meteorologist Betsy Kling, kicking off our coverage. She's been looking at this all day. Betsy, what stands out to you? I mean, the fact of the matter is we are right back into the heat and the humidity which we have already dealt with this summer. The problem is now kids are in school and that kind of kicks it up a notch because once they are in the school building, it really gets uncomfortable very quickly. Heat advisories have been issued for a long and west of I 71 that does include Lorraine, Ashland, Richland, Huron and Erie counties. Please know all of us will be hot tomorrow with the heat index topping out around 100. The highest heat in the seas though will be in western Ohio and then stretching farther back into portions of the Midwest. This is this heat dome that we've been tracking for the last week. And now you can see our air temperatures in Chicago at 95. Their heat index currently at 103. That is what we are looking at tomorrow here in much of northeast Ohio, the heat index for Greater Cleveland expected to stretch up toward the 100 degree mark. But again, the highest heat indexes are heat into seas, I suppose I should say, are expected to be west of Greater Cleveland where that alert has been issued for tomorrow. So as far as our weather impact alert day for tomorrow, the hours that you really have to know about are noon to about 6 p.m. That's the heat of the day. It's a combination of the heat and humidity, which will mean you will need to stay cool throughout the afternoon. We've dealt with it before, but now it's gonna get tricky because those kids are gonna be in school.
