When will Nick Saban retire? | Lane Kiffin says, "never." | Alabama football news

Intro hey what's good fame it's kyle henderson at bamainsider.com coming to you from beautiful tuscaloosa alabama nick saban in the news once again this time people are asking when is the goat going to retire lane kiffin said in an article the sports illustrated never what do you think about nick saban and his future at alabama nick saban by the way will be 71 this season in the 2022 season on october 31st between me and you i saw nick saban just Nick Saban recently at the golf course he plays from the blue tees he drives at about 255 yards coach in very good shape seven national titles 10 sec titles 14 sec west division championships he's been named the pallbearer bryant award winner twice which i think is unfair i think he should be have won that award multiple times two times walter camp coach of the year 2008 and 2018. he's making a cool 9.3 million and of course he's got other deals coming in huge on philanthropy here in the city of tuscaloosa him and miss terry doing a great job but my question to you is how long do you think that nick saban is going to continue to coach the alabama crimson tide now i get it i think that in the old college football world which is two years ago nick saban continues to coach pry up until his 80s now look i have no idea how long coach saban is going to be around and coach saban has mentioned several times when people ask him about retirement as long as nick saban and this is kind of his response he says When will Nick Saban retire as long as he's doing something that is productive to the team for the greater good of the organization that he's going to keep on coaching okay but i'm kind of asking you the viewer do you think that now that we're in a world where where there is salary cap football where there's nil do you think that's going to be too much of a headache for coach to continue to navigate through um it doesn't seem like it but at the same point i mean the world of college football is certainly changing now in terms of x's and o's and in terms of that desire um i think clearly when you watch nick saban break down films and by the way if you haven't seen coach saban break down a game film go check it out it is really something to see i think that desire certainly is Will Nick Saban retire there i mean as i said in the opening of the video i mean you should see him well first i saw him at the driving range and then i saw him tee off i mean he's just got that competitive spirit it's just something that you want to be around i can only imagine being you know 18 19 um 20 years old and being around that type of a coach that type of a father figure that can point you in the right direction so i don't think that it's going to be a desire thing i think that nick saban is someone who certainly needs to be doing something he's mentioned several times that you know he gets antsy when he's just sitting around he's not a guy that likes to just sit and chill he likes to be in that grind mode likes to be in that dog mentality likes to work likes to grind um and look i i think that the only thing that could potentially derail this you know prolific run is just the changing in college football but with that said i mean you looked at what alabama has been able to do within the transfer portal i mean they've been the transfer portal kings but now it's going to come down to the salary cap i mean look at what just happened with jordan addison um you know someone told me that you know the reason jordan addison didn't come to alabama was because alabama simply couldn't afford him so are we going to get into that salary cap mode going forward i think we're already there so would that really lead coach to retire though i don't think so so i think that long as long as coach saban is healthy and i think as he said as long as he is contributing at um for the greater good of the organization i i think coach saban continues to be um you know very active um going through 75 going through 76 uh probably up until 80 you know and i think that's a good thing for college football because one thing that we know uh two things one he's the greatest college football coach ever and two he's the college football commissioner and i think he is level-headed enough to make sure that college football stays on track he's going to always be an advocate for college football and i think it's important that we keep him around in that aspect to make sure that college football continues that fabric of what we all grew up watching college football let me know what you think inside the comment box regarding nick saban and retirement how long do you think he's going to coach for um do you think he's going to coach for um the age of 75 being he's going to retire within a couple years um let me know what you think inside the comment box hit the thumbs up like subscribe i appreciate you guys watching this video coming to you from beautiful tuscaloosa alabama kyle henderson of bamainsider.com
