it's just defense overall was there anything uh special that you worked on Just for Kentucky is that just how this defense can operate to dominate like you guys did uh no sir it was nothing special it just we just came out here and being who we were like I honestly feel like we didn't even played as good as we could you know um held in the six you know a lot of unfortunate things that happened during that game a lot of uh big plays they broke out but I just feel like we stayed composed on our side of the ball yeah same thing it was especially work through practice we just try to just uh the whole point was to communicate communicate and execute so week so think we get that TJ for you were you seeing anything that you could exploit with ky's offensive line that allowed you guys to get to the quarterback like what was working for you guys so well on that D line against them I said I don't think it was nothing special I just think um the way we practiced this week um feel like a lot of guys uh did pretty good in pass one on ones this week and um a lot of that stuff you see translate to the game really well it's nothing special it's just about preparing for that moment uh Nick whenever you know guys like TJ and your Edge rushers are getting to the quarterback and and wreaking havoc back there how much easier does it make it on you guys in the secondary to be able to to make plays and cover it makes it extremely easy you got guys like TJ Tonka uh KY Canard and Dylan Stewart up there like rushing a passer and you back there like chilling like I mean almost like get on is better to play on so just makes it extremely easy uh play DB how uh how fun is it to play football when you know the other team be able to throw it amazing once we figure out like they stopped throwing it they're like trying to run the ball I guess like they wanted to play like smashou Smashmouth type of football you know that's what we want so kind of start know TJ what's it like rushing up the middle when you one side there alar the other side work oh yeah knowing those two guys out there is like cuz a lot of times last year we have the running backs kind of chip blocking the tackles a little so but now like their focus is on our Edge guys you know them boys been balling lately and that's just freeing it up for us and vice versa I mean we compliment each other out here really well I feel like Nick the pick six take us through that uh it was certain coverage was in coach white was doing a good job calling calling his defense all day and I just read the quarterback turned my head Gra took it for six you know you know I had said I got a flag know was on me I apologize to coach coaches like probably smart football I was a little excited but was there a certain moment or play in the game where you guys kind of knew like hey like we took like kuy's you know passing game out of it or anything or I say about towards the end of the first half noticed like uh they started subing in the backup quarterback a lot the guy who likes to run more than you know he wants to sit back there and pass and once we seen that we knew like you know like we really have the advantage on those guys right now taking taking away one thing that they can do was there something you guys saw in Vandergriff that like stood out like that you guys knew like oh this might be a weakness of his or I say he kind of likes to force things a little bit he likes to throw the B that's why I was seeing on film all week like we was talking to DB like he's going to throw us one and I think Jay Kore got one too so that's just a testament to that like you know Young quarterback like to force a little forceing throws a little bit but you know that's a that's a plus to us for for either of you guys uh Shane mentioned that he recognized that there wasn't a whole lot of love this this past week for this team just wanted to see if you guys recognize that on social media or wherever else and how you guys handle handle that kind of thing as players and internally well regarding those stuff on social media I mean everybody has their opinions one thing about us we don't care so you know we don't go out there and do we got to do every week whether y'all saying we going to win or whether y'all saying we going to lose uh I guess to that point sh was saying this week that he tried to like pump you guys up and say hey uh this is the JV uh this is the JV and Kentucky The Varsity type thing uh what motivation did he give you guys this uh it's like the same same spill with beer I'll say like no matter who we're up against know we always have good he never like tries to do any like coach speak with us he keeps it real he he told us like we have a better team we have a better roster so we just believe that this whole this whole weekend you know come to the game we thinking you know it's going to be a little dog fight going play some ball but you know we always believe in coach you know believe in our teammates believe you know what we can do you all had a had a few plays you blew up before they can even get started were there some things they were kind of tipping off at the line and kind of give you an idea you where what going or just snap would be I don't necessary anything they were doing I just feel like a lot of our guys up front were playing really fast that's one thing we always try to preach like get off that's half the battle right there you know you want to get off the ball as fast as you can and go from there Vision eyes hands all that all that work together so I feel like a lot of our guys were playing fast and a lot of a lot of good plays happen tonight TJ it seemed like you guys started out with three defensive line it seemed like yall played four most for the rest of the game was was was it a game plan to to mix in a little bit more thre man front you just stuck with what was worth four or how how did that balance out no honestly was just what coach white was saying out there um from the offensive side of personnel and um you know what what defense best fit that situation that's how it was uh TJ Shane was saying he was telling you guys in the sideline you know late third quarter KY gets think three straight plays the holding call he was telling you guys they can't block you they can't block you without holding do you feel as a group that they just straight up couldn't block you that you feel that on the sidelines yes than
