hi I'm Melanie from Nova Scotia Canada and this is adventures in groceryland container gardening update it's been about 2 weeks since I posted the last update we have been doing some harvesting um none of our harvests have been really huge so this was a year of learning for us but we are getting harvests we have tomatoes um jalapenos green peppers cucumbers zucchini um onions um eggplant so there are definitely things that we've harvested we are hoping next year to have a bigger Harvest so I think what we might do is decrease the quantity of varieties of things that we are planting and focus on just a few that we know um have been successful here this year so thanks for tuning in uh check out where we stand and um see a little bit of what we've har harvested we've started to do more harvesting we have green peppers here these are jaluo jalapenos these are gigantti 2 jalapenos these ones are jalapeno M's we have deformed cucumbers but still cucumbers we are starting to harvest our tomatoes and you can see here that we've got a couple of the Romas that we have picked um starting to get lots of cherries as well and there's woo there's lots of this kind um these are the ones that we had on the deck that we have just been eating and we have a eggplant so I think this looks pretty awesome now we've got one two three four five six six coming up so far little onions second planting more and more tomatoes are turning every day I am picking these I am bringing them in the house you can see this one's starting to turn as well I need five cups [Applause] of tomatoes from my first batch of salsa and uh we are pretty darn close we're pretty darn close more little cherry tomatoes and those can go in salsa if I need to I'll top up my P my five cups with them you can see the um the succession planting of the onions are coming along it is uh still the first week of September so we are we are good with those cabbages looking great these are a cold weather plant I'm I'm happy and content just to let them grow um definitely the pumpkins are extremely extremely tiny I don't know if they will get big enough to to turn to be anything other than just a gourd or a decoration um but we grew pumpkins s Year and that is better than any other year we have ever had we harvested everything on the pepper plants um but look at this we are getting more I am actually going to try to save some of these pepper plants I've heard that you can overwinter them I don't know much about that I am going to research it we have a very tiny space the handsome one says where you going to put those you're going to bring them in the house I I have been contemplating bringing at least two in the house um I'm not sure I'm not sure if they could overwinter if I put them in the shed there's more space out there but I think they have to stay alive I'm not sure if you know anything about um over wintering pepper plants definitely let me know in the comments and then here those aren't our brussel sprouts we had real heavy rain here over the weekend it was a weather event wasn't nice um but but but everything looks okay I say everything looks okay but the tomatoes sure did take a beating but look I'm actually starting to get tomatoes this one was a Scotia so you never know what might happen before we get Frost and you never know what I might be doing out here like covering these with sheets uh the potatoes that we planted they are starting um to come up again so these are a succession planting and we still have one green pepper anyways I don't think there's any more going on any of the rest of these I don't think so I think that's the only one one zucchini one zucchini with got we thought that was it for the um cucumbers we harvested everything we haven't pulled up the plant yet and here we have another little teeny teeny one growing the squash are really not getting that much bigger well I guess that one is a little bigger and then we have this one like these are more decorations I think I don't think I'd be able to get much out of them do still have eggplant in there and there were just big flowers on this the other day um I don't see any others growing but that doesn't mean they might not grow I don't know and someone wants me to uh take all of these out last but not least these are the purple zebra Tomatoes they are looking like they are starting to ripen of course there's an unripe one and we have more up here so we do still have tomatoes to to come thanks for tuning in for another update uh if you haven't already subscribed to the channel I would really appreciate it if you would do so it would help me and you might find um some of my grocery videos and saving tips helpful to you thanks so much
