meteorologist Holly Strano took to Facebook on Monday to share some heartfelt news after 22 years she has been Let Go by WKYC channel 3 this decision came months after she returned to work following a difficult period in her life marked by an arrest for drunken driving in her candid post Stono revealed that WKYC and its parent company TNA decided to terminate her employment after she openly shared her recovery journey I believe the actions of WKYC and tnet demonstrate the stigma surrounding addiction that so many in our community experience every day she expressed the incident that led to her arrest occurred on Thanksgiving night and Strano crashed her vehicle into a utility pole in kyoga Falls she was found to have a blood alcohol level three times the legal limit Strano pleaded guilty to operating a vehicle under the influence and was sentenced to a Six-Day driver Intervention Program instead of along with a fine of $375 plus court costs on January 23rd Strano publicly apologized for her actions stating she was deeply remorseful for that night as tragic as it was and as cliche as it may sound I believe that had to happen to me to put me on this healing journey of sobriety and introspection she wrote after a brief Hiatus Strano returned to WKYC in February but her role shifted instead of her usual Morning Show slot she began appearing on weekend and evening newscasts despite the changes Strano remained committed to being honest and authentic about her sobriety Journey I'm continuing to prioritize my sobriety and health and I am also so grateful for the outpouring of love and support from so many of you throughout this journey she shared strano's story is a powerful reminder of resilience and the importance of support in overcoming life's challenges
