Mets White Sox post-game reaction | Jesse Winker on fire | 2 games back of 3rd Wild Card

hi everybody this is the baseball head you made the spectacular terrific than great one the people's Champion your host H welcome back to the baseball H hope you like this video hit that subscribe button that's one tonight 5 to three it got awfully it got awfully hairy there in the ninth inning I'll tell you that uh but the white socks are terrible and they weren't going to I wasn't really all that nervous about the ninth inning to be honest with you I thought it was interesting that Mendoza didn't didn't go to Young there against benintendi but he showed a lot of he showed a lot of restraint a lot of confidence in the young reliever Jose buo so that that tells you the guy's done a really good job as manager and now he has trust in his players and buo pitched fairly well and I was funny I was say I said this the other day when he blew the game on on uh Sunday that he's not been in this position where he's been these pressure packed games and and it's doubly pressure here because you don't want to lose the White Soxs uh if you're if you're any team you don't want to lose to the white especially if you're in in this in a race and the Mets AR in a Race So a couple things Mets are now two games behind the Braves now back to two games back because they lost to the Phillies tonight uh three to nothing Zack whe pitch seven scorel Innings and then Bullpen shut them down I guess but um it was a big night tonight obviously because now they back to two games behind they're also eight games over 500 which is the first time they've done that um now tomorrow is going to be tough because they're going up against the Ace of the white socks and G crochet and I would mention this the Mets are one in n in the last 10 Sundays so there is a bit of an issue you know winning on Sunday so and tomorrow is September 1st uh we'll see who the position player is that the Mets call up uh for the 28 man roster expansion we know that Alex Young was uh U recalled and we'll be on the roster tomorrow we'll see who gets recalled today tonight maybe they announc tonight or tomorrow a couple candidates L R's W Jackie Bradley Jr's won Lu and Hun's won uh those guys are are the possibilities of getting uh called up uh tomorrow so we'll I'll have a video on that at some point uh but couple takeaways this game again you can't lose to the white socks uh it was very hairy last uh tonight it you know it wasn't a very comfortable game last night whenever you play a bad team like this it's very uncomfortable when you're watching it I think you know you're home watching it you watch these games you get very uncomfortable because you don't want to be like the Yankees the Yankees got destroyed a couple weeks ago or last week in the first game give 16 runs to White Socks they wion the series but that's a game off the standings that you lose and you don't want to lose that now I would mention uh the White Sox are still on Pace to destroy the Mets 1960 met 1962 Mets record and they they actually uh set a record tonight with that loss they had 106 loss the most they've ever had in their franchise you're talking about a franchise that that's over 130 years old and in the Chicago White Soxs um couple of things the Met defense in this game was excellent get some really good plays by Jesse uh by U Brandon nmo by Tyron Taylor very good defensive uh plays in this game also the offense was interesting interesting the first inning the Mets got three runs one on a home run by pet Alonzo and then a home run by Jesse wanker I'm so happy that he's doing well I don't want to see any met doing badly uh especially ones that I'm really riding pretty good and he is eight for his last 11 at he's doing an excellent job he's a role player he's playing a role destroying right-handed pitching that's great to see he's had two three hit games in a row it's the first time his career's ever done that but he he hit a home run that first thing back to back home runs with the Mets in that first Jose canana he pitched okay he's going up against a bad line you know a better lineup he probably would not have pitched near Le as well he was really trying to find his command in this game pitch five innings the Met bup was pretty good until the ninth inning uh they didn't give up a hit in the sixth inning the seventh inning eighth inning it wasn't until uh buo got the gave up the hit to Miguel Vargas that the even gave up a hit and then eventually they gave up a run to uh the white socks but uh I wasn't all that concerned because uh you know that did just a bad team the white socks and uh which is I what you going to do and then tomorrow like I said met a one and the last 10 games on Sunday got to get tomorrow um it is imperative that you don't lose games against Bad teams especially in in August and September and you're chasing all these teams also four games behind the behind the Padres so it's interesting that the Mets are still hanging around and these three teams in particular the the Diamondbacks the Padres and the Braves have played so well yet the Mets are still charging they're still moving forward still carrying on uh with they're winning and they've not played well the last few weeks uh just in general they've had a lot of tough losses as you know and to see them continuing to grind it out get the wins they need to get uh that loss on Wednesday was was very difficult that the Mets took the terrible loss and the loss on Sunday was really bad last at the end of last end of this week but they've won three in a row since then uh since Wednesday and they got to win tomorrow just worry about tomorrow and then we get to play the Boston Red Sox Monday Tuesday and Wednesday then they get a day off we get all day off get a relax relaxing day and then next weekend they play H they play the Reds the Cincinnati Reds don't give a that's the one thing I'll say about teams in September they don't teams like the reds don't give a now they just want to get the the schedule over with uh and then next in the final week the Mets go to on the road uh they play the Blue Jays and then they play the scum sucking Phillies and I will be there uh two weeks from Friday uh sitting behind the Mets dug at God help me hope I don't get Dred into the ABS but anyway anyway this channel is about to hit 5,000 subscribers uh when the channel hits 5,000 subscribers I will do live stream uh talking about it and and really talking about you folks U basically supporting me for all these years having fun having a lot of laughs and contining to do so and and really I am a channel for the Mets fan I'm not really not corporate guy I do my thing here I'm a freeth thinker there not might not be a good thing these days but I do my thing here I don't care what the media does I do fun them I make fun of them I would mention wfn has basically changed their whole entire social media strategy cuz they got tired of me making fun them that's power you can't buy that's power folks I'm not joking they used to post all these articles for me to read and make fun of them they don't do that anymore you got to listen to that BS on the stupid ay app we're not doing that but you know uh I again uh this is real a real joy in my life I really love doing this Channel and I hope you like watching it it's been a lot of fun the last four years doing this and it's only going to get better the met I always look at the Mets one day close to win Another World Series and we're going to see it you know hopefully during this CH the life of this channel because I want to celebrate with you folks and you guys so many guys watch this Channel I want to celebrate with you and hopefully we're going to get a chance to see that very it's not this year probably next year
