You've probably noticed that we have an
election coming up. I'm not here to tell you who to vote for, or maybe I am, but
more importantly, now is the time to make sure you're registered to vote.
Go to Vote.org to find out if you're still registered or if you've been dropped
from the voter rolls for some reason.
Every state has its own rules about when you
can register. Some cut it off at 30 days before election day, or 29, or 21 - looking at you
Kansas. In some states you can actually register to vote on election day - Maryland for example.
Go to Vote.org to find out your state's rules.
If you don't live in a swing state, you
might think that you don't have to vote at all because the Electoral College makes your
vote irrelevant. We'll you're wrong and stupid. In case you hadn't noticed, our laws are created
by elected officials in the House and Senate, not by presidents and there are a lot
of close races being fought all over the country, check your local listings.
Finally, if you're still on the fence about which presidential candidate to vote for, let
me simplify. If you're a racist, a homophobe, or a misogynist, then Trump's your man. If
care about democracy and civility, vote Harris.
