Washington Football - Spring Practice Day 2, Quarterbacks & Offense

back inside Husky Stadium field level for day two of Washington Spring practice the team getting warmed up under the lights in the rain and cold typical spring Pacific Northwest weather the five quarterbacks for the Washington Huskies in their no contact gold jerseys going through throwing warm-ups ahead of practice and the rest of the team going through running and stretching warm-ups a look up close at Jonah Coleman running back from Arizona this guy is huge the horn sounded practice was underway the defense wearing purple led by Steve belich headed off the field and to the outdoor practice field the offense stayed on the field inside Husky Stadium that's where we got our first look at Will Rogers warming up throwing the football for the Washington Huskies the Mississippi State transfer is the second all-time leading passer in SEC history he threw for over 12,000 yards in his four years at Mississippi State under Mike Leech and through two practices at Washington he continues to take all the first team reps at quarterback after footwork drills they went into play action passes here rolling out and getting one to true freshman running back Adam mamed then it was time to get a look at the true freshman class of 2024 quarterback Dean Williams Jr a fourstar Elite 11 quarterback from basa High School in Arizona and I think he throws the best football in this Washington quarterback room the ball bounces out of his hands looks really good tight compact thrower of the football he made a couple plays during leanon that really stood out to me one was a sideline pass where he drove it to camman serman over the defense really nice throw and another where he escaped pressure in the pocket running up field making people Miss for like 15 yards really impressive play from a very talented quarterback at Washington and then running with the threes for most of the day another fourstar class of 2024 demarius Davis at quarterback he 6'4 has an exceptional the competition between those two freshman quarterbacks will be great for the development of that quarterback room right next to us the running backs we're working out another look at Jonah Coleman I'm telling you this guy is built like a bowling ball you do not want to get in his way his size up close is absolutely incredible he's going to be a great running back for Washington next season practice wrapped up and we had media availability with offensive coordinator Brennan Carroll speaking to the offense I think they're going to be running more of a pro style look for Washington next season then we spoke to two of the offensive line tackle Drew AAP party transfer from San Diego State and Center Zack Henning spoke with the media interviews wrapped up we walked across the field to exit Husky Stadium again taken in the sights of the greatest setting in college football
