today is Thursday August 15 2024 got a lot to talk about tonight we're going to break down our offensive line our wide receivers and our tight ends let's do that [Music] [Music] happy Thursday wherever you may be whether it's morning afternoon evening however you come across us if you do flying solo tonight might have some people hop in at some point may not if not you just stuck with me if anybody happens to tune into this so we got a lot going on this week Alabama started the fall Camp a couple weeks ago a lot of video clips going on a lot of reports coming out a lot of good reports coming out a lot of of you know need Improvement stuff coming out I think Debo's doing a fantastic job so far really kind of taking control of the program and putting his stamp on it we'll really see when the games start two weeks from Saturday kickoff is two weeks from Saturday that's crazy I mean this has been the longest off season with so much Intrigue the new coach savan retiring like it's a new world for a lot of Bama fans who all they've known is Nick Sabin they're there's a whole new generation of fans that's all they've known is coach saan and that's it you know some of us older cats remember the dark years prior in between coach Stallings and and the sabanera you know we remember those dark years and those tough years and but you know there are a lot of people that all they know is Nick Sabin Alabama football so this is a whole new world for a lot of the Bama fans the younger generation Bama fans having to get new experience a new coach and a new philosophies and and seeing a new person on the sideline and hearing a new voice in uh in the postgame press conferences you know something that I'm really intrigued about with Coach dor is uh you know he seems like such a nice guy a very player friendly coach you know but these uh SEC refs will bring out the monster and everybody and so I'm really really really intrigued about how he's going to handle the first atrocious call uh that everybody it happens to every team in the league every team in the country you know they get either benefit or uh they get screwed by bad officiating it's it's rampant everywhere watch our Tennessee video from last year or two years ago from after the Tennessee game I Unleashed on what I thought happened in that game um but that's another story for another day however I just want to see how he behaves or how he reacts when that first bad call comes in or when it's just so egregious that you you just lose your mind we saw Nick do it quite a bit in the early years I think he mellowed out some in the later years I think uh you know being a grandfather um you know having a grandson seeing the things that he's doing and being so visible everywhere that you know he kind of toned it down which you know I missed the old Sabin that was you know ripping ass on the sideline even after a good play because it wasn't executed right or you know whacking AJ on the butt pretty dang hard after he messed up a play even though we were winning or even though the game was you know some good things were happening and AJ got you know got got lashed we know we all know Lane took a plenty of earful Falls over there on the sideline for some play calls at some odd times of the game so we saw him get saw him get ripped many many many times it's just oh God you know but lane lane handles it like a like a champ you know he's he he holds Sabin in the highest regard I think and he always you know he trolls us but it's in a good way I don't think it's any malicious with him so I'm still a lane fan even though he gets on my nerves sometimes but anyway so yeah I'm really looking forward to that looking forward to see how the the how the the play calling is not in terms of the plays are running but how it you know how the calls are going into the game this the hand signal you know the flow of you know are we snapping the ball with two and one second left on the play clock like we've seen so many times you know are we are we snapping the ball with how much time left are we trying to burn the clock down or run the clock down you know we used to drive me nuts with Bryce when Bob was here uh that you know every snap you know you'd be calling out all this stuff for 25 seconds and the play clock get down to 3 2 1 and then you're giving the defense automatic jump because if you get down to 321 they know exactly when they can fire off um so I mean there were just so many times saw that so I'm really looking forward to see that just just a ton of intrigue um just so much unknown for so for all of us really even even ones that have followed you know Debo's career the last couple years since he's been at you know more know programs you just don't know you don't know what he's going to do with this level of talent can he recruit down this area seems to be doing fine so far but there's still the the the buzz out there that you know it's still sabin's team it's you know it's sabin's the reason why these guys are still interested you know and I mean granted Savin built a foundation but ever since Debo landed that plane with Courtney Morgan they've been the one in front of the people they've been the one talking to these players they've been the one hosting bringing in recruits you know it's not everybody thinks Sabin has still got his hand on it is is tripping I mean he might still be around and visible but you know I don't think his hands anywhere near on the program unless Debo has reached out and asked him asked him for it so anyway so that's my little few cents worth but so what we're going to do then is we're going to talk about the offensive line tonight we're going to talk about the wide receivers tonight we're going to talk about the tight ends tonight um if it's just me rock on uh Chris from way off sides is supposed to might might pop in if he gets some time um be sure after this show to catch way offsides at 8 o' central time uh on YouTube at way offsides that's way off sides with four A's go check that out at 8 o'clock it'll be me myself uh Bill Chris and cotton we have a really good time over there too so be sure to check that out but Chris will be on here shortly with us to talk about some of these things so um our first position group that we're going to bring up is our offensive linemen now this group here is really like a strength on the offense as maligned as it was last year uh for obviously the woses at Center uh the struggles that Proctor had with those Speedy Edge rushers that this is is actually a big position of strength here with Proctor I'm I'm going to assume you we haven't seen official depth charts or anything you know after camp or anything but I'm going to assume that Proctor is the is the excuse me is the starting left tackle of course book's going to be a left guard there uh brailsford I think is the biggest key to the line right now at playing Center that's a huge piece I mean even in the CL we've seen from practice his his Snaps are are good snaps they're catchable snaps they're not you don't see anybody short hopping or leaping or doing whatever they're their the Snaps are on point they right chest High catch and go then don't have any play interruption or timing getting thrown off because we're having to reach down for the ball and look down to catch the ball you know a lot of these offensive plays are timing based so if the quarterback's got to look down catch the ball and look back up you know there's he's missed some you know he could have missed a read it may have been a one a catch one step and let fly you know you just never know but having to look down catch the ball look back up throws timing off having to short hop it having to jump up for it you know having it come up above his head and having to Flinch and come back you know all these things throw the timing of the play off even if it's just a smidge it throws everything off and so having him having a reliable Center and not to mention that he can block that he's a good Center not only is snapping the ball but calling schemes calling the blocking assignments actually blocking the guy in front of him so he's a really A A A Center that's going to be a starter for a couple of years here um we know uh big Jaden at Right Guard 77 I mean our whole season really turned around last year when they inserted him in the lineup we we gained a real physicality to the line to the play to the Grind they gained a real physicality to it so I was real excited um about you know his his you know his future after seeing the way he really just was blowing people up last year so now right tackle is the is the position open I think it's Formby we've seen clips of getting snaps uh pritet we've seen clips of getting snaps um so I think it's up for grabs as to who wants to as to who wants to secure the job who wants who wants the right tackle job you know it's yours take it out go out there and get it I'm not sure if anybody else is getting any reps with the ones at right tackle over there I don't see maybe I think I don't know if Rock Montgomery is a tackle he might get some reps with the twos on the two or 3D but I think in terms of running with the ones everything I've seen has been forb and pritchet running with the ones that right tackle so but you know it could be a could be a not I don't want to say a revolving door um but you know it could be you know anybody up that takes the that takes the job in Camp and really shows you know and it could it could carry into the season it might be week two we maybe the Wisconsin game before somebody really solidifies as the right tackle spot you know we just don't know you know we just don't know so so I like Proctor Booker brailsford Roberts and then whoever wins it between formb and Pritchett that is a real strength of the offense that's a real strength of the offense of line is which last year was not a lot of problems last year I think the scheme was flawed um I don't think Proctor was really ready for the speed of the and the speed that he faced of course he didn't get a lot of help he was out on an island quite a bit you know I didn't see a ton of of schemes run to to really help him to you know to assist him or whatever I didn't see a ton of that I didn't see a ton of that going on so but you know I mean that's just for me watching from my couch you know because I'm a couch cter so I was watching from my couch and from what I saw I didn't see them seem like Proctor got a ton of help with with somebody chipping or uh running back staying in more often but he it just felt like he got left out on an island by himself you know quite a bit um Booker of course is just a monster you know he's playing for an NFL contract this year he's playing for draft stock this year I think you're going to see a a really really solid year out of Booker barring any injuries obviously brailsford we you we talk about him but you know and if we get down to the two deep uh if you look at this list here if you look at this um chart here if you get down to the two deep you know uh the Viking is in there that's uh Olas I call him Viking is from Finland so um he's in the he's in the mix I think aat is in the mix um several of these guys are Bertrand probably get some snaps Rock Montgomery is in there miles McVey I think is in the two three deep as well so you know I think we're a good I think this is a good deep unit um and you know there's a lot of freshman here and then we've also got guys coming in next year that are that are going to add to this list because I think Booker is going to be gone to the NFL I think Jaden Roberts will be gone to the NFL um I think Proctor and brailsford will be back next year uh I'm of course I don't know that for sure but that's just my guess that Proctor and brails back next year and then of course uh formb will be back next year will be if he stays you know what I mean but uh for will be back next year and then pritet a rard sophomore so you know I think he'll be back next year too but this is a deep group and if they can stay healthy um I really like the offensive line coach I've heard really good things about him um our our uh some other you know B friends of ours you know knew of knew of him when he was in Michigan State even though Michigan State wasn't blowing any doors off of people but you know his I think his toughness and his tenacity were really bring the best out of this group um all the way down to the depth chart you know the the starters the the the second unit and even into the third unit will think will take on the personality of the offensive line coach that's that's really and I was big fan of the guy you know last year so I can't that c I think coach cap cap some cap I can't remember what the his name is the offensive line coach but you know Clips I've seen of him during practice the way you know he's uh he's getting into a durm practice I just love seeing that just grinding in the in the triple digit heat I mean because that's fourth quarter you know in the season is you you got to dig deep you got to find that that that extra juice that you didn't know was there but fantastic fantastic group here um it's only going to build stronger the class that uh that Debo has has assembled for next year um has good offensive line talent and I think it's just going to keep growing I think this offense is going to be really special really really special and it starts it all starts up front because as we saw last year if you're weak at one spot on the line it changes everything um it just so happens that we were the weakest at Center and that's the most important position next to the quarterback's Blindside tackle I think on the offensive line obviously if it's a lefty your right tackle I think is one to onea in terms of importance on the offensive line with the center but the center is everything every team that bamett has struggled with the last several years I mean like the teams that that have not been really great offensively for us or or have a lot of mistakes have been because we were weak at Center even PRI sain um I I I har back to that schula's one good year he had was that 2005 you know we had JB clausner was the center there of that Squad and he he was uh he was all sec I mean JB clausner was fantastic that that year at Center and he broke his ankle um LSU game or the week before the Iron Bowl the game before two weeks before the Iron Bowl he broke his leg and our backup center had to play the last two games if you remember the ironbow that year I think Auburn had six or seven sacks of of Brody CR that year um you know those bumper stickers were going on Honk If you sack Brody cyal that was a miserable game watching him get sacked that many times and it was because our starting center was gone and we had a backup center in that I mean and it was obvious that Auburn was you know was attacking him and I mean it was just it was not it was not good it was not good so the center is everything it it starts there and then it ripples out you know ripples out if the center is bad it ripples out things are things change timing gets thrown off all that kind of stuff it's just it's just awful it's just awful so but we do have a center now at least we one for the next couple years same as Parker bford go watch film of him last year he was a little bit light last year Washington didn't have to be quite as heavy they had to put some weight on him once he got here I'm very very curious to see what he goes into week one you know has weight and then then I'll be curious to see if you know how it if it fluctuates much at all you know as the season grinds on into you know as he as he goes through the program as he goes through the strength conditioning and you know the more time he spends in it and the more time he spends you know with that stuff is he going to you know gain 20 pounds can't you know I don't think that's the case obviously but you know how's his weight going to fluctuate is going to gain a little bit more they're going to want him to play about 305 or you know is that too big for for him or for this for this style offense does he need to be around you know 295 say 290 um he's got to be a little bit bigger I think than the 275 he played at last year two whatever he played at last year he definitely needs to put on a little meat there so I I think that uh but I think that he will so I'll be I'll be keeping an eye on that that'd be something curious to keep an eye on you know we'll see you we'll see how he does this SEC and I've and I've said you know since he transferred here that you know don't get fooled by if he's not a 310 pound center it's about leverage and it's about blocking leverage and Dort and mlin were not did not excel at that what I what I've seen from brailsford uh in in you know Clips I've watched Music Washington last year that he's gets leverage in those in some of those even in those goal line situations where you know you think that the heavier lineman you know you'd want beefy your linemen for those short yardage stuff but it's about leverage and he can get under you know you can get below you know the the nose tackle and you know get that leverage on him and and so he's he's really good at at using leverage uh to get his blocks going so sticking with offense our next group that we are going to break down not really break down but we're going to talk about are the wide receivers um one particular to keep an eye on if you'll see you know number two we I think I can speak for all of bamon nation when I say that our we are beyond beyond excited about the the possibilities that this guy is going to bring I mean it's just just even the clips of him you know I don't I try not to put it this way I try not to get too hyped on high school film because all the high school film you watch is just going to be nothing but the the best plays of that player so you're never going to see any adversity you're never going to see how he handles himself in a bad if he has a bad game or a bad drop how does he come you know you're never going to see that all you're going to see is all the these highlight plays um so but watching his highlight reel I just could not I couldn't take my eyes off of it I and then I mean the guy's just a freak and seeing some of the plays and some of the catches he make in practice um and going against imbak those guys have been battling in high school those guys those two are going to make each other even better and imbak is a stud on defense if they put him on offense I think he'd be a stud too uh he was a stud in high school on offense and uh and so he's going to play DB here but but going up against Ryan in practice every day All Season watching what this kid can do I mean he's supposed to be a senior in high school and he's already up I think to 175 so that's Smitty that's his heaviest Smitty ever got I think 176 when he was here so keep an eye on Ryan Williams obviously I think as well on this list number one Kendrick law I think I can speak for bination with this as well that we are Beyond excited about what what this kid can do uh Tommy Reese I didn't think really knew how to use him last year didn't didn't appear to maximize his abilities last year uh the way you can use him like a Debo Samuel type player he is a physical freak I mean the strength the size of him and the fact that he can run like a like a gazelle I mean he Debo say he clocked him at 23 something miles an hour 23 miles an hour practice that's stupid I mean as physical as he is the ball needs to be in this guy's hands quite a bit quite quite a bit Jeremy Bernard is going to be huge as well um he's going to be that that Elder Statesman almost the leader of the receiver room he knows the offense knows the schemes uh knows the terminology knows the Cadence knows really the offense inside and out can bring it down here to the receiver room and these guys can watch him and learn from him and you saw an aday game that he was really good I mean he was really really good in the aday game he looked solid looked like a a legit a number one receiver um some of the catches made some of the routes he was running I mean and he he looks the part he reminds me of Jamar Chase just his the his physique and his size and the routes he was running the way he was catching ball he reminds me of Jamar Chase that's instantly who I thought of when I saw Jeremy running those plays in aay game my I mean I was just like that's Jamar Chase reincarnated right there um he just looked apart L looked just like him so jery we're all hyped for jery expecting big things for jery this year Kendrick law Ryan Williams Kobe Prince forgotten man with all the Kendrick law um excitement and the Ryan Williams hype we've forgotten a lot about Kobe prenis who was a a big-time contributor last year he's a junior now so you know he he's a knows the lay of the land he's grown up a little bit I think he's going to have a big year this year and this I think all the receivers are going to just eat for days in this offense if Jaylen can can really harness his mid game and intermed iate passing game and it doesn't even have to be like breeze numbers you know 75% completions and we're not saying that he has to be Drew Breeze in the short passing game but if he can just become even a a tiny threat a tiny threat in that uh that's going to be big here's an interesting name Emanuel Henderson High high highly rated running back coming out of high school a big time running back come out of high school moved him to receiver immediately this is now year three he's never he's barely touched the field so I don't know if it's because it was a depth thing or what um oh and we got somebody joining us here so hey Chris the man what's up dude what's happening welcome to the show you caught caught it right in the midst talking about the wide receivers I was just running through my thoughts on kind of Manuel Henderson his journey from highly rated running back to receiver who never played which going to be interesting yeah to a position now where he's got you know you know the slots are open in then in a in a rece very receiver friendly offense y so there's no reason why he can't really start making some noise um oh I agree I agree but um yeah I ran down Jeremy Kendrick Ryan Williams obviously is the most the one we're most excited about I said Kendrick was I think I think I think I think the ones we're going to see the most out of is going to be Bernard and Kendrick La agreed that's that that's going to be your two that just you know take it to the next level Jeremy looked the part in aday I mean he looked like Jamar Chase like yeah like running an like being the one in an offense that's what I I just saw Jamar Chase all over him and then and I was telling say earli I said the for kind of the Forgotten man is Kobe Prince you know he made some plays last year yeah talking about everybody else yeah but nobody so that's that can sometimes be the most dangerous is the ones that are under the radar well I I hope we get to see some of the uh some of the Freshman a little bit this year um of course Ryan Williams but another name a lot of people don't talk about Rico Scott y expecting a lot out of this not I mean not a lot this year but yes I think he's going to be in the Caleb odm another one that yeah that is going to be is going to be big time but you know there's a lot of talent here I'm looking I'm looking at you I'm looking at the list and oh my God I mean look at this list there are some Ballers on where did they come from where there's only one football too so like yeah I mean you know what it's it amazes me just looking at this one wide receiver room how somewhere somehow we didn't lose a lot of these guys I've been wondering that a lot yeah how how some of you know how some of the Freshman didn't flip um how some of these sophomores and either even some of these Juniors didn't trans transfer with the talent coming in behind them you know maybe they believe in something maybe they saw the offense and were like saw coach Shepard and was like you know even if I don't put up crazy numbers this guy's GNA make me a better receiver man I I think we're gonna see a lot of that um and it's going to reflect I just I think these guys are gonna push each other to you know just be be better yeah he better and J that's talking about Jaylen hail who's out all year with the a good chunk of the year with the with his I think you know I and and we may not see he may not see anytime because I mean the from what I read and what I see it's gonna he's gonna be out he he won't see he won't see the field and I don't think we'll need him so I don't think they're gonna Rush him back so I think I think he's going to be you know Medical Red this year and come back 100% next year yeah um everybody's talking about Cole Adams yeah I'm hearing a lot of excitement about Cole Adams and his speed that he's gonna bring that changes everything speed changes everything everything and he he he's a red shirt right yeah yeah so there's some there's some Talent here and in this [Music] offense it's you know there's a lot of people hating this just hating and I think the reason they are is because they they know what's coming I think that's a big part of they see it coming yeah they see it coming mean let's see there's one two three I mean there there's eight guys off the top of my head that are just you know that that could that are there's eight guys I see right there they're going to start on Sundays yeah guarantee very possible the talent level is there yeah I mean the talent level is there and I don't I think that Kendrick law was just criminally under underutilized last year I don't know if it was a didn't know how to use him wasn't really sure what he was didn't really know what the offense of identity was for most of the year um so I don't know but he he should have touched the ball a lot more last year year I don't think that our our our guys are going to make that mistake again this year I don't think that Nick shared and Debo are GNA the guy runs 23 miles an hour of course you're going to get him the ball I mean there there's no question they G to get him the ball and and you know the thing is realistically how many of them are running 20 21 miles per hour faster a lot of it this there's a lot of speed in this list here yeah and you know a lot of a lot of people hadn't watched Ryan Williams they see a little bit of footage but that kids his acceleration is it's not fair it's stupid I have watched him burn so many defensive backs you know yes because he can hitch him and then he can accelerate and yeah it's it's over you know I mean I I watched uh this last year's state championship game which they lost it but it I mean it it come down to a you know a last second you know what do we do here and man he I I believe in four strides he's at full speed I wouldn't I mean that that's believable I mean I mean and you know if you look if you look at him he's he's not he's not a he's not I mean he he's built but he's a smaller frame receiver and I think that that adds a lot of acceleration speed there agreed he's not toting as much stuff those smaller guys got burst man do take them as long to get to get them strides going you know Derk Henry outran defensive backs but it took him a minute to get them strides going yeah and then once he turned the corner and got them strides going he was gone but Ryan you know is a and he's you know he's gone out he's out and you know but you mentioned the playoffs I talked about this a little bit before you jumped in was that I don't put I try not to put a whole ton of stock in high school highlight films because they're all the just their best plays you don't see him in any adver any aders um adverse conditions you don't see him having to deal with anything whether it's a a drop or a missed call and they get mad about something you know you don't ever see those in highlight tapes how they handle adversity or any any crazy stuff all you see is that is their just their highlight plays what they're supposed to see so I don't put a huge amount of stock in highlight films I'm watching these recruits it's like well of course he dominated in that in that clip but there was something about Ryan Williams watching him and in Bache duel it out against each other and they were both it was like it was like a heavyweight fight they were just trading blows the two of them were in that game and I was like oh my gosh both these guys are gonna be at Tuscaloosa next year like that's not fair and they put him bway at DB and now they're going to be going against each other in practice again and only making each other better what's crazy is I'm not sure imbak is not better suited to play offense as good as he is well I think he I think he can play anywhere he wants to really yeah yeah you know but I think he wants to play DB I think that's a big reason why he's here is because they gonna play him at DB and that's I think that's where he wants to play that's right obviously he hadn't told me that but he he'll be well suited for that guy's a beast that guy's a that guy's a bad shut your mouth shut your mouth a bad mother shut your mouth so uh but check out I'm going to jump back to this look at this room so I went over obviously the starting four we know for sure I think it's going to be down to forby and pritet at right tackle spot I think those two guys are GNA somebody's going to win out of those two yeah for the right Tackle Spot um but I like the two deep as well there's a lot of dep there's some depth there too with McVey Rock Montgomery ma Smith um that ionata of hearing good things about yeah well you know you know what I like about this entire list here you look at it and there's only one Junior on that list book that's right there's a red well Roberts is a red shirt junr well yeah yeah I didn't see that over there but yeah and then vanderark never plays I don't really count him so you know may maybe we'll have Booker and Roberts next season that would shock me but maybe maybe but I think two of them are playing for a draft stock yeah and then the the sophomores that'll be playing and I think I think we'll be sit I think our offensive Line's looking good what's the coach's name um Cap Caps coach cap is what that the what you put me on the spot for like that because I'm I couldn't think of it earlier either CAPIC or something like that isn't that what his name is yeah and I but me coach where he apologizes please forgive me when we beg you to be on the show at some point man do I look like I'm losing pigment and everything on me or is it you got those pigmentless lights I see pigment removers I don't know what's happening here I don't I don't know what what it is but it's bothering me I just I keep I keep looking at it I don't I don't know what it is is but well we we got also got a the Viking is in the two deep yeah um and he he looks like he's put on some weight in a good way like he's got himself a little bulk on him now little muscle weight little muscle on them yep you know you're in the program will do that oh yeah oh yeah I mean I I don't know any any single D1 school that gets any lman and says hey you're fine just like you are yeah it doesn't happen they they're going to beef you up and then they're gonna bulk you up and that's a fact yep you know and also along with these so you know on this L along with these sophomores you see or these youngsters you see we're going to have uh a pretty good one coming in next year yeah with next year's class a pretty good left tackle coming in next year's class uh and a couple of linemen I think so this list is just going to only get better I think I mean he got a plan and he's gonna he's going to execute it and he knows what he needs up front to make this offense work and I think we're looking good here I mean that's a lot of there's a lot of depth here yeah um and then our last little group we're touching on tonight little bit smaller group um but still some there's some there's some Talent here yeah um I haven't even looked at the depth chart but who who are they who are who do you think's going to be the going to get to start the start thei well I'm sure depi is going to be one of them I'm not sure how many Debo runs in his offense if he's a one or two guy um but I'm I can almost guarantee you dpri is is going to be in a one or the two I think uh OTS is going to be more of the HB if Debo uses that kind of thing in his offense I'm not really sure right but OT actually made some catches last year on some plays he wasn't just a blocker I hope to see the tight ends utilize more me too um you know I used to I used to love seeing you know offense line up with two tight ends and then you know you just have one cleaning up blocks right across the middle and and you know one getting out there getting a 15 yard dump to them and you know most tight ends they're not they're not fast but boy can they Rumble well and they're they're big mismatch they're night matchup nightmares yeah because of their size and they're usually too fast for linebackers too big for DBS and so if you got if you've got that dude at tight end it's it's almost indefensible I mean I mean gron cowsky is goingon to go to the Hall of Fame on just on that because he was too fast for linebackers too big for DBS and he was I mean he was just dominating yeah so you know you know I miss I miss OJ Howard yeah and I I miss Mike Williams too Michael Williams now I got beef with Michael Williams well don't don't have that much beef with him man he let that dude rip the ball from him on the goal line of that game year he the guy came up to his waist I couldn't believe he let that guy was half his size ripped that ball from him I you got to kill me to get this ball from me well you know we we we still who was it who was it that always fumbled the ball or got it St was it Kenyan Drake no it was um or Damen Harris no about tight ends no it was one of our running backs oh well Harris was on one that always got caught from behind yeah but I think maybe it was Kenyan Drake every time he turned around he was fumbling that could have been it we still love him don't don't hold that against Michael don't hold that against Michael that's just the first thing I think of unfortunately I think Smith was my favorite tight end mainly because he was in that Tua offense and that guy was a just a freak he was a total freak he was what I thought OJ was gonna be for four years was that one year that Irv had hopefully we're gonna see some points put on the board like the two of offense I think we're going to see a lot of points put on the bird I think he's going to see a lot of them okay he said watch out for quas okay keep an eye on that said he came from Washington system so interesting thank you Antoine appreciate that yeah that's a name we'll keep an eye on I didn't realize he was from Washington um that that slipped past me so I did not realize that he came from Washington so that's big so there we go is it is well we don't realize there there's a lot of guys that I don't think we think about that know they know the Bor system I believe you're right yeah this is an interesting room and odm is technically a tight end but I think he's going to be more of a receiver I think he will I think he was he was technically a tight end when he was recruited um but no I think this is going to be a problem if they can figure out really how to how to utilize tight ends and and the matchup nightmares they cause this group here is going to make some noise this year I think they're gonna have a good a good season and I don't know the tight ends role in Debo's offense so that's a that's going to be new for me this year Watching that how that unfolds um I feel like every year I get excited about the tight ends and then every year they sort of underwhelm you know uh OJ Howard was a physical freak but he's sort of underwhelmed you know two monster games but then you're just always left going man why didn't this guy have nine catches this game you know or there be games you have one catch for seven yards and like how is he not yeah like a focal point look at him you know he runs like a deer um but he just left he always wanted more it seems well well we'll see I I just I'm I'm really excited about the receiver room and I really see what m i I want to see his his improvements in live game situations agreed so he's certainly carrying himself off the field with the confidence um you know that you want from your leader and your starting quarterback and I didn't mean that like he he's carrying himself around arrogant like you know like a high school qb1 would do I mean like leadership and uh focus and hard work and and being a good dude off the field and involved in the community and whatnot I mean you saw those clips of from The Fan Day talking to little kids oh yeah and all that stuff that's all part of being qb1 at this level it's not just about the pads and cleats and how far you can throw it there's a lot more to it so if he can harness that short intermediate game and they can build a plan around his legs my gosh man my gosh we'll we'll see how it goes I can tell you you know there but there's there's a lot of there's a lot of hate floating around so always yeah and I don't I don't know there's another show that you'll be on later they uh there there's there's some guy in the comments and he's I guess he's a BMA fan and I can't I can't understand his comments really this will be I'm I'm gonna touch on it later I mean it's it's really for those that are still with us check it go check way off sides at 8:00 here in about 15 minutes myself my buddy Chris here cotton Bill way off sides with 4 a go check us out at 8 o'clock when we wrap up here we're gonna wrap up here in a few minutes but top of the hour go check us out there that's a it's a good group it's a wild group there we do have some fun we do have some fun so um but anyway so yeah that's our three position groups this week uh offensive line receivers tight ends next week we're going to cover the quarterback running back and special teams although special teams not a whole lot to talk about there really it's really going to be about the quarterbacks and running backs a little preview ahead Jam Miller Justice Haynes Richard young I think those three are are second really to none in terms of of a group of three running backs all three of those guys are going to be big time factors I think um coming this season so uh but thanks for thanks for coming on Chris I appreciate it man I appreciate you coming with me no problem I had I was going to be a little earlier but I was late getting home and I
