Titan Vlog - Grafton Handover w/ Ryley Batt I Ep 2

Intro [Music] hi guys james here from titan caravans and we're back with another handover road trip video today we're heading down to grafton with one of our 480 hybrids we're meeting one of our new customers down there he's also our new titan brand partner riley bat two-time gold medal olympian in wheelchair rugby so riley touched base with us about six months ago he was in the market looking for a hybrid caravan he was looking for something that had plenty of water storage plenty of battery storage and was tough enough to get him to a fair few remote uh destinations and make sure that he was comfortable while he was there we came up with a package for our 480 hybrid here so the van that we're towing down today is fitted with two 150 amp hour lithium batteries a victron battery management system uh it's got two 180 watt solar panels 200 liters of fresh water so it is a really well set up unit designed for off-grid touring and uh a lot of outback camping as well too so stick with us on the road down with the restrictions easing it's great that we can get out on the road and do some more of these videos it is long overdue i know thank you for your comments and your patience with us but now as we're seeing some of these restrictions easing we're going to be getting back out on the road and doing a lot more of this sort of content so we can show you just what the titan caravans are all about what they're capable of and meet some of our new owners so stay tuned and we'll introduce you to riley very shortly [Music] [Applause] Meet Ryley all right guys so we've made it down here to grafton for our road trip today and uh riley it's it's finally good to meet you and uh and see you with the van so uh for those of us who don't know a lot about you what can you sort of tell us about yourself a video background yeah so look i am a paralympian uh five-time paralympian now um have been playing the sport of wheelchair rugby for almost two decades and uh it's lucky enough at the the 2020 tokyo games to be co-captain of the paralympic team and um yeah i've been lucky enough to win a few gold medals and a silver so um it's been quite busy but i'm looking forward to this lifestyle it seems it's it's going to be a nice lifestyle from a pretty pretty full-on sport that you've been heavily involved in so it's a decorated career that you've got mate so we're really excited to have you on board where did you sort of get into the caravaning and touring sort of thing were you using swags tents were you doing sort of the caravan stuff earlier on yeah i've look i've always been a a bit of a country point away and i just love getting outside in nature and for me it started with sort of rooftop tents swags you know um worked up to a hard floor camper trailer and then sort of worked into a bigger caravan than a bigger caravan and i think i'm moving down to this hybrid style caravan now because it's just going to let me get more off-grid so the free camping sort of thing is is important to you so setting it up with the lithium batteries the extra water tanks everything like that is it more remote free camping that you're going to be looking to achieve yeah look i love getting off the beaten track and just isolating myself so um you know you know it's a bit of a hustle and bustle day to day with obviously training and work and whatnot with my sport um so when i like to go camping i like to just get my own space and you know with a product like this i'm looking forward to getting off the beaten track a little bit yeah absolutely now any favorite spots that you're heading to any first trips that you got planned uh look we live in port macquarie so there's plenty of spots around port macquarie to go um you know camping and whatnot but i haven't got one lined up yet but i'd love to go back in central australia i've done that before um in a camper trailer and now i think it'd be a lot more luxurious travelling in one of these we'll see your tongue with the cruiser uh your partnership with uh with toyota as well too so it's uh it's great to obviously see the two brands sort of combining and getting the bands out there out in the outback uh moving forward what can we expect to see from you are you hanging out the boots you might be you're gonna be touring around or what's what's the score um look it's it's been two decades of playing now and the body is pretty beat up but i still want to play still want to represent australia you know it's a great honor to be able to fly that flag and throw on the green and gold and it's something i'll definitely cherish forever and i don't want to career end my career too early and regret it so i think i will be playing on but i've told the coaches that i'm going to take a little bit of a break and that's why you know i've grabbed one of these amazing titan caravans mate because i want to i want to spend my down time um enjoying life and getting outside and um and traveling a bit so um yeah they'll be used a lot in the next 12 months and then when my career winds up it'll be used even more and hopefully the life around australia with the wife [Music] look for someone that's represented the country and uh and had such a creative and colorful career mate we couldn't be proud to have you on board and thank you again cheers james and thanks for bringing the van down for us
