all right there it is man Wilson football Wilson and the new Lions head coach John muga listen before we talk about the game let's talk about the stor so talking to my man Carlos mlin talk greater pit tree service so if you need help here in New Bright that's the guy to call actually he's been down here already some of his staff and he will be returning too so I started hearing about this stuff and we actually had you on the radio the morning after talking my uh news anchor Rob Taylor so I decided to drive through yeah it was unbelievable it was crazy it was like a tornado came through the town um you know we lost power here until 7:00 the next evening uh half the town was out of power I know even where I live we didn't have power till about 2 in the morning so what happened does anybody even know like a Micro Burst or something I couldn't tell you I have no There Were Trees literally uprooted yeah out of the ground yeah if you drove through downtown it uh it looked like like a tornado came through I mean it was crazy um even before the coin toss it was uh right at 625 630 we were getting ready to do the coin toss we started seeing the rain coming uh we came into do the coin toss in the locker room and uh and by the time it was over there was hail you know 3 in of rain on the practice J it was it was a it was an intense storm it was but anyway cuz I love the guy some place for Central Catholic he's also an amateur fighter Carlos is really good people from Greenfield he's actually going to be uh with me on the radio Saturday morning at 700 a.m. but 412 8843 that's a Shameless plug I'm going it because I love the guy and I care about people in New Bright and he will treat you right now Freedom's game got canceled all together so that's who you're playing this week but North Gate and not that I was shocked but I knew a little bit about them because I've been doing since up with their coach and I've always had a really a lot of respect for that school district and that that that coach and that that football program going back to the days when we were doing the Rhino show with your dad Tad Mak and them um started out okay but we told you about this Fields guy three touchdowns he was and you knew going in right absolutely I mean they they had a they had a good game plan they had good athletes um you know it helps when we have a 62 63 230 uh quarterback Wildcat back there um you know number 22 he was a phenomenal athlet um and I and you know they wore us down and they're a good team I mean they're going to do great things in single and they have been on that timeline like Brighton has been so it's the cream starting to ride uh and they're starting to actually move in the right direction and I saw that coming last year so congratulations coach on the other side meaning your uh defense you got to get it going but your offensive Line's got to protect your quarterback you got sacked four times in that yeah um you know we made some miscues um that we're going to work on this week you know we've been working on it since Monday we talked about it getting rid of the ball in time uh and they allow just the protection that we need so listen overall I'm very happy that be nice to see what happens against Freedom this week I got loyalties to both but obviously this is my alma moer um your team and I'm kind of looking over some of the depth charts some of the information here got a little early got here a little earlier than than I expected today so I had some time some things you need to improve on and you're going to be working on in practice today this afternoon then tomorrow that end of the way let's talking about it uh I mean offensively we want to we want to reestablish um you know what our goal was in the beginning of the game beginning of the Season we want to establish a good run and good pass mix um so we're not onedimensional defense we just have to get our mentality back to uh to find the ball and get 11 guys in the ball you know when you look at this football team what would you put yourself as far as youth oriented uh veteran Laden I mean are there some players on this team that you're going to be able to see matriculate through their sophomore junior year that are actually going to be able to contribute down the road when this program continues to go through that Evolution absolutely I mean that that's what our goal is here um with rebuilding the program uh you know we want our under classroom to be involved and we're starting to get some freshman sophomore involved in um you know in the offense and the defense trying to get some guys in the game so we really want them to start producing so that we have a a great future so I came in through the training room and I see some people get nice down and taped up and what have you listen when you're dealing with these type of numbers every week that you can get through it maybe with just a few bumps and bruises is a good thing how are you doing in that department good I mean we have uh we're full strength right now um you know anybody that that's not going to suit up this weekend I mean we couldn't ask for anything better well you're going to have to utilize that speed that we talked about and you're going to have to try to make some Splash plays and one thing about your football team you have the ability to do that the last thing you want to see is getting down by double digits early yeah absolutely I mean you always want to keep it you know as close as you can uh but we've conditioned enough that we feel like when we get in the second half in the fourth quarter um you know our guys are in good shape it's just the mentality part of it to just keep pushing through through all four quarters well the last thing we to talk to coach moua about we're going to try to catch up with them every week either on Wednesday or Thursday depending on our schedule so going to try keep this rolling one of the things it's amazing how a couple of wi will make a big difference and I don't know if it's the old muga mentality and that Grove Avenue thing but man and I know you come from a big family but it seems like a lot of people are really buying into to the Brighton football yeah I mean it's great to see um like you said a couple wins you know really gives a talent spark again um and pequs the interest of everybody in the community um so like I said a couple weeks ago you know the good the bad the ugly hopefully everybody's behind us the whole way through and and uh and we have a great rest of the season now just remember though cuz your dad and I we all love movies right lightning sometimes can go against you but it can also be the sign of things to come remember the movie The Natural with Robert Redford man that lightning struck man when he cracked that ball off that bat so maybe last week is now it's going to be uh the calm after the storm and this team going to be able to get locked in and move on down the road in a positive way you know this R between there's a lot of rivaly for you guys but this is one that goes way back Freedom this is a great Backyard Brawl you got West Virginia and pit obviously this weekend at aore 937 we'll be talking about it all Co Market black and gold Sunday show big part of what we're doing here with these broadcast obviously got a Coons Market in hope well good Folks at the Brighton Hot Dog Shop this is one that you really want to be a part of because it's been around for 50 60 years I mean this is a big rivalry yeah um you know been a rivalry since since I played yeah I mean it's a big game in the mac and it's always a it's always a very good competitive game whether it's here there um we've had some great battles even a couple years ago when we went up there uh the whole place was sold out you know five rows deep on the fence so we're hoping to get that again this week well I got to tell you I came from Geneva College ear Tomy Kent was over there assisting but he of course was a great player here the Jeff belt who was at Geneva College as a player now working in the world of Education doing great job and former Bieber coach he was a stud there at Freedom too so I mean there's a lot of connections to this rivalry so how you feeling doing okay yeah you enjoying it I enjoy every day right um you know I love the game I love coming here with these guys uh trying to give the knowledge that I have of the game my staff is always you know they bought in from day one when we start talking and uh you know like I said they were harder than any other staff of their own all right well listen New Brighton football mother is a great iron club uh you know people love to gather at the old old kill BS before and after the game this is this is family it's New Brighton and um I'm just glad to see that this team is doing some good things this year and couldn't happen to a better guy we'll try to stay in touch throughout the
