teacher talking Sports what it do what it do how we liveing I remember when I was younger uh myself and some friends would often play with a ball we had a nice field where we could get a bunch of people to play We would actually use a lawn chair as the strike zone so basically if the ball hit the lawn chair it was a strike uh even if it hit like one of the metal legs um if it went between the metal legs it was a ball but that's how we did it and we had tons of fun now I couldn't imagine if you know a famous athlete were to come join um you know how much that would mean to me even into adulthood as something I could always remember well that was the case for some young kids today uh just an awesome story that I wanted to share so we'll take a look at it and then I'll go into um we'll look at an article that goes into more detail as to what actually happened but this is Leslie lard um she's a Liberian uh in the Kansas City area so amazing experience at our house today salvi Salvador Perez joined in the neighborhood whle ball game my son and I are the biggest Royals fans this was truly unbelievable as you see he there's a picture of him with a bunch of young kids so awesome let's take a look at um the videos she posted I mean she's filming it because you know how cool is it that a nine time Allstar with the Royals is playing whiffle ball with some 9-year-old kids come on Henry smacked it just like he does in the major [Music] leagues little league comron right there really cool though I mean let's uh this is via mlb.com so um says on Thursday a group of kids didn't have to imagine that Perez was in their backyard he was there in the flesh and ready to hit Perez was driving through a Kansas City neighborhood when he spotted 9-year-old Cameron lard and his friends hitting a ball around the nine time Allstar pulled his car car over and shouted toward the youngsters hey guys can I play the kids couldn't believe their eyes Cameron ran inside and cried out salvi freaking Perez is in the backyard can you imagine him telling his parents at they're like yeah okay that's yeah um it's just unbelievable Leslie who's the one who posted the video told the Kansas City Star we actually have a Kansas City monarchs player that lives with a host family in our neighborhood as well and he came and played with the boys a few weeks ago we couldn't all believe that thought it was the coolest thing and then this happens just like you I don't know Salvia is just like another level you know um so yes Salvador Perez the long time Kansas City Royal uh part of their 2015 World Series uh winning team uh he was the World Series MVP Cameron lard at mentioned is 9 years old meaning that either he wasn't born or was you know just a month or a couple months old when the Royals won that World Series it's been a lot of lean years since but man are they playing well this year currently 15 games over 500 and just two games behind the Cleveland Guardians for the AL Central lead um you know should get a wild card spot even if they don't win the division and um I'm a Miami marins fan my team was basically eliminated the first day of the season but man a story like this um you know watching that video almost makes I shouldn't say almost kind of definitely does make me want to root for the Royals I mean I I like rooting for underdogs if my teams um don't perform well and you know the Royals made some free agent signings during the off season but still not much was expected of them Salvador Perez what a cool moment that those kids will probably never forget anyhow don't forget to subscribe tell friend tell friend tell friend subscribe like the video share the video hit the bell for notifications I'm out
