by now you guys have seen all of the news about Cheryl swoops getting booted from the Dallas Wings broadcast team uh she was replaced by Nancy liberman here is uh this is from Athlon Sports and fever Wings TV broadcast gets shake up amid Cheryl swoops Caitlyn Clark drama WNBA Legend has been highly critical of the 22-year-old point guard all season long and she recently drew the ey of several fans on social media after seemingly defending Chicago Sky guard Diamond the shields after she foued Clark hard from behind knocking her to the floor and it it goes into more but ER she was replaced I don't know if Ron thulan was the partner in the other broadcast cuz to me here's what happened with the other broadcast they were talking about players of the week I believe it was kayen Clark was one of those players and the co-host is going and he's talking and then he stops assuming that Cheryl swoops is going to pick up the conversation say what she has to say about it and then they would keep going on with the live game well on live television she sat silent for about 6 seconds and it was just an awkward pause when clearly he was waiting for her to pick up the conversation two things can be true you cannot like a person and still be able to give a unbiased opinion you can be able to call a game like you should whether you like a player or not should have no bearing on what you're actually seeing on the court cuz your job as an analyst is to call it like you see it report the facts and you just keep it moving and when Cheryl swoops for whatever reason whatever her reason is when she decides that she doesn't want to do that that means she can't do her job no more that's a problem so in my opinion it doesn't really have anything to do with her uh sending a tweet out to Diamond the shields I saw the play was it over the top yeah but stuff like that happens all the time especially when you down that was a frustration play I've been in a situation like that in football where you hit somebody late and you're on the losing end and somebody's jawing with you and you push them back and that's part of that's part of the game that's part of every sport so to me that's you see that every day that ain't no big deal but if I'm looking to you as a analyst and you can't do that that's a problem when she did it the first time my comp was that would be like me trying to explain what happened in the US Women's gold medal game and me never mentioning Asia Wilson or Kalia copper if you were on the French side you're trying to explain the gold medal game and you never mention Gabby Williams you're doing it an injustice and you're not telling the whole story that's how I see it so if Cheryl swoops can't do her job to the best of her ability if she ain't living up to that contract well then she just got promoted to Fan she'll be sitting in the crowd with everybody else good luck on your podcast I don't care if you like a particular player or not I should at least be able to count on you to do your job that's it you ain't got to like her now on the flip side of that Nancy liberman filled in her and Ron thulan did a great job on the broadcast it was a great game that was one of the best games all year arque and Kelsey Mitchell going back and forth Kaylin Clark had what 31 points or whatever it was great gay and I thought Nancy liberman was great however comma I think she went overboard with the uh with the gushing of Caitlyn Clark what Caitlyn Clark has done for the game is is generational and I just as a as a baller to a baller I just want to say thank you to you Caitlyn Clark absolutely for just lifting our game up you and so many great players but what you're doing you're going to make all these women multi millionaires one day like tiger did like Michael Jordan did and we shouldn't hate on her we should celebrate her not tolerate her I didn't think it was necessary everybody knows what the situation is and you don't have to like I said she just went overboard with it in my opinion and I'm saying that as a Caitlyn Clark fan I've gone back and forth and you know I don't even want to say battle you have words with other people on social media and stuff like that because I know there are some Caitlin Clark fans and Iowa fans that go next level with it and they don't want you to say anything bad about Caitlyn Clark that's not how I operate I operate like a I'm a coach because I am I've coached basketball I've coached football so I operate from a standpoint of my perspective is what I have seen on the court I've seen some good and bad things with Caitlin Clark as well as Angel Ree and Cameron Brink and all the other rookies witha Jackson and Alissa uh Alysa peely all them other rookies I've seen good and bad stuff with them so you call it out and I've gotten into it with kitlin Clark fans that don't like anything that remotely resembles neg negativity on Caitlyn Clark and I'm like well that's the truth she does complain too much to the refs so does everybody else but every time she come down to court she can't have her Palms in the air like how come I didn't get that call and she gets that look on her face when she's frustrated she ain't got a poker face you can tell when she frustrated that's some things that she got to work on that's some things that I don't like and that's an observation that ain't my opinion watch the tape so you don't take it doesn't need or require all of that gushing over uh Caitlyn Clark or if you were Angel Reese fan you ain't got to gush over her either call it like it is yes she killing it with the double doubles kayen Clark been killing it with her offensive game call it keep it moving that's all you got to do but for some reason cherl swoop seems like she got to a the grind with Caitlyn Clark and it's not even Caitlyn Clark it's her responding to everybody else and if you going to be a professional in this era of social media you got to be able to navigate that space and for whatever reason it seems like Cheryl swoops cannot do that if you letting what's going on on Twitter and the feedback get to you so bad where you can't doing your job well guess what you just got promoted the fan I don't know what they're going to do I don't know if they're going to keep her I don't know if she'll be on the next broadcast all of that kind of stuff and to me it's just unnecessary you don't want to talk about this girl so badly to it's a it's affecting your job and you want to keep it like that you do you so we'll see is she completely out it was it only for this game I don't know but I'm sure there'll be more Fallout and blowback from this uh and I'm sure she'll have something to say uh she goes on her podcast with the WNBA or if she goes back on Gilbert aras's podcast we'll hear from her but all you got to do is do your job you ain't got to like the girl but you still have to do your job
