today we are going to go out into the desert and uh um we're going to test out our packs for the first time okay not Dominic's first time my first time damn he really just said you're a virgin yeah she is a virgin just virgin um anyway I got my backpack for pretty cheap off of uh Facebook Mar Marketplace but it's an osprey backpack we got it for like 70 bucks so I'm very happy with that cuz brand new they're like 23 400 what like 260 yeah um we're also going to I'm going to be testing out my new hiking shoes for the first time which we got from score outdoors and Boise which is like a outdoor exchange consignment shop basically um but they look brand new they look like someone might have worn them once or twice if that um so I'm very excited to try those out and um basically today we're just going to go hiking with some weight we're doing a trail that you can either do a thre mile path or a seven mile path um so we'll see what we end up doing today but um we're just going to get used to walking around with some weight on our shoulders amen [Music] trying to find this path and it's uh proven to be very difficult we found it um and I'm amazed that there is nobody out here there are three cars we passed two on the way in um but it's a Saturday in June's very cool up there we want to go do some bouldering and check that out we are in the Idaho awes um and for a little Idaho history if if you don't know it um a lot of Idaho things are named what they are named because idahoans apparently can't pronounce anything um and so boisey the city of boisey was called boisey because the French um discovered it they came over this there's like this whole story where like they came over this little pier and they looked out and they thought they were going to die in the desert right because Idaho is desert desert desert and then it's like forests and mountains and everything else um so as they're wandering through the desert losing hope uh they finally came over this Mountain Crest and saw all these trees which meant there would be water and so the story goes that they started shouting La laah the trees the trees meaning that they were going to survive they were going to find water and so from the French word laa came boisey because we don't know how to spell anything so with that we are in the awaii mountain range um because I don't know when um but supposedly a bunch of people from Hawaii Hai came and went into this mountain range and got lost and they all disappeared probably died somewhere um or they made it wherever they were going I don't know but they were never seen again and so to honor these Hawaiians they named the mountain range awaii because they couldn't pronounce Hawaii I guess so that's why we have an entire mountain range called the awes [Music] it's you a good hubby um that feel does it feel like yeah it's all on my hips we were coming up [Music] [Music] you are in our [Music] way can you get out of our way please he's just hiding go I kind of want to just keep going and then go back and get it before we leave that's so tough water bottle down a LIF straw too maybe we should just go back I'm just how did we not hear that fall out I think my least favorite thing about desert hikes is getting all the in your shoes cool though we're almost there almost to the top [Music] [Music] we found it is [Music] a [Music] TA well it was really nice nice uh that was what 4 hours 3 hours of hiking um there's a ton of different Trails out there that you can take so there's like all different levels from um like super easy to more advanced um and yeah we kind of just hiked to a place that we saw that was really pretty and then hiked back there was a lot of grasshoppers more grasshoppers than I've ever seen in my life so many Jerusalem yeah just huge ones testing out our tent small and covert we're very happy that it's green so it'll just kind of blend in um but it is a one person tent so hopefully we don't go crazy it's little what filming me are you happy about it yeah I'm super happy about it yeah good we're going to put our backpacks out here when we sleep Hopefully the rain doesn't get to them but I think that they'll be okay and we just have two tiny little spots for us to stay in this cow today while we were hiking so I'm going to need to wear my hiking shoes more often what are you doing now uh just checking this out see how big it is well yet again so if it leaks this thing is not going to leak this is brand spanking new so I'm just going to go take two oh it's so dark in here
