Today, we’re looking at former Goldeyes reliever, Ian Thomas! Thomas played three seasons with the Fish from 2009 to 2011, appearing in 82 games and recording 128 and a third innings pitched. He registered a 2.03 Earned Run Average during his time in Winnipeg, which ranks second in Goldeyes history. He also owns the Goldeyes’ third-best single-season Earned Run Average after he put up a sparkling 1.64 ERA in 2010. After his time with the Fish, Thomas’s performance didn’t go unnoticed, eventually signing on with the Atlanta Braves organization. He went on to reach the Majors with the Braves and the Los Angeles Dodgers in 2014 and 2015, appearing in 30 games and 36 batters. Thomas is one of the many success stories that has come through Winnipeg, which is why he’s highlighted as one of the best Goldeyes of the past 30 years!
