the Battleground now coming into Focus the battle grounds we should say uh kamla Harris and Donald Trump will hone in on about a half a dozen states for the next 53 days that could make or break their campaigns and all likelihood that's the case morning everybody on a Friday Dana's got the day off today I'm Bill Hammer live here in New York City and Martha mcallum my colleague and friend has had one doozy of a week it's been quite a week for everybody it's always great to be with you and um I'm Martha mum and this is America's new room so we are gearing up for another action-packed day on the campaign Trail there's really no stopping between here and November 5th at this point former president Trump will kick things off he's doing a news conference in California which should be interesting that's going to happen at noon Eastern so you'll want to tune in for that reminder we haven't had one of these at all from vice president Harris 54 days zero press conferences from the VP you think she rides out the string we don't know but so far she's doing it right Trump then heads to Nevada for a rally in Vegas no tax on tips there and meanwhile the vice president will return to Pennsylvania PA is one of Six States in our toss-up category that's a Cod into our Fox News Power Rankings we put out yesterday 78 electoral votes up for grabs we believe that means right now it is still anybody's game Martha Congressman Byron Donalds is on Deck but first let's go to Brian yenis who is with us from wilsy Pennsylvania today hi Brian hi Martha good morning well vice president kamla Harris has spent more time in Pennsylvania than any other Battleground this campaign and it's a must-win and yesterday in North Carolina while campaigning there she made clear that having another presidential debate she thinks will help her chances here in the Commonwealth which poll show is a neck and neck tied race although former president Trump says he doesn't need another debate because well he won anyway I believe we owe it to the voters to have another debate we've done two debates and because they were successful there will be no third debate it's too late anyway the voting's already begun in their first post-debate campaign stops Harris and her running mate Tim Walls openly mocked former president Trump's debate performance concept you remember he has quote concepts of a plan I mean we're 54 days from this election concepts of a plan which means no actual plan tell me you had this on your bingo card and they're eating cats and they're eating [Applause] [Music] cats meanwhile former president Trump while campaigning in Tucson Arizona yesterday announced announced a new policy no tips on overtime this is on top of Trump's plans to not tax tips and to eliminate taxes on Social Security the Harris campaign says Trump is quote desperate and scrambling the latest polls though show the economy is by far the number one issue in Pennsylvania and voters trust Trump more than Harris to handle the economy 50 to 42 he's up eight points on that issue the latest Congressional Republican joint economic committee report shows consumer prices on goods and services are up 19% in Pennsylvania under the Biden Harris Administration this means pennsylvanians are spending $984 more a month on food energy housing and transportation Harris guys is stopping in Johnstown which is in Cambria County before making her way to wils Berry Pennsylvania right here which is in Lazer County notably both counties one-handedly by Trump in 2020 the Harris camp caign things showing up in rural RED parts of the state will make all the difference Martha Brian thank you very much Brian yenis in PA where we're all going to be spending a lot of time over the next couple of months thanks Brian North Carolina and you are going to make all the difference in the outcome of this race we are the underdog and so we have hard work ahead of us but we like hard work you got to get people to [Applause] vote because we want to get a landslide that's too big to rig you know if we have the big votes they can't rig it we will take back our country so it kind of feels like we've reached that moment doesn't it just listen to the sound bites there Trump in Arizona and kamla Harris in North Carolina really is the swing state Battleground Showdown come on over the board and I'll show you a little bit about we're seeing if you're this yesterday our power rankings came out everything you see in yellow right here everything in yellow is a tossup and yesterday we made the move down here in the Southeast to put Georgia and North Carolina into that tossup category we're going to see right now how that goes Trump held North Carolina in 2020 Biden flipped Georgia in 2020 so it's critical states there let me advance this one time and show you why why that matters here put this in red a little bit so you see a little better here Pennsylvania all right think about Pennsylvania think bet it's 19 electoral votes it is highly unlike it it is very difficult I should say for a Democrat to win the White House and lose the 19 electoral votes in Pennsylvania and that's the reason why as Brian was just reporting Kamala Harris is there two other things stick out on the map on me 16 here 16 there that's Georgia and North Carolina you win them both 32 electoral votes and when you start to add this stuff up you see how critical now these Battleground areas are in the overall uh and oh in the overall campaign this right here and there's a lot of information on the board these are the Battlegrounds that have been won and lost together okay back in 2016 you note here Arizona Georgia Michigan this is Nebraska 2o okay one electoral vote that area of Omaha all right that's why it's on the board that North Carolina Nevada Pennsylvania Wisconsin look what happened between 2016 and then 2020 Biden flipped most of them with the exception of North Carolina okay I want to make note of this cuz next hour we're going to tell you why both campaigns that were run in the Tar Hill State in 2020 they did what they needed to do Trump held on to it but Biden's team did well we're going to explain that and Trump's team did well especially in the rural sections of that state Byron Donald joins our conversation now the Republican from Florida sir good morning to you um I I don't know how you see it you can chime in on that or the fact there will be no second debate but 54 days without a press conference can she run out the string and not have one and will voters accept that unfortunately I believe that she can but I don't think voters will accept it U look in that debate the other night kamla Harris kind of proved she's good at getting under your skin but she didn't say anything no substance she dodged a number one question on the minds of the American people are you better off today than you were four years ago and she dodged it and the reason why is because the American people are not better off this is why there have been no press conferences this is why she only sat down with Dana Bash and they left about 30 minutes of the of the apparent interview on The Cutting Room floor to only show us what she said um it's not a campaign of substance it's a campaign of I'm just trying to make things better but she is in charge if she wanted to make things better what has she been doing where has she been she couldn't convince Joe Biden so I anticipate they're going to try to run out the rest of this campaign without a press conference because if she has to talk substance if she has to talk policy if she has to talk about her terrible economic plan that she's put out it's not going to help the lives of the American people Congressman Donald's I the question for me is what is the Trump campaign strategy post this debate and is it wise to not do another debate because we've seen in Prior election that you know one side or the other sometimes doesn't do great in a debate and life goes on and then there's another debate and sometimes they win that one um How does president Trump get his message out to these 11 to 15% of undecided voters especially in these Battleground States well look I I think the president and uh JD Vance have been getting that message out really over the past 30 days uh they do a lot of interviews you guys know this they dwarfed the media apparatus in terms of communicating in all ways shapes and forms to the American people Donald Trump and JD Vance are doing podcast interviews something we've never seen from a presidential campaign before to get to those voters they obviously their crisscrossing uh the entire landscape and I think the one thing that we have to understand in 2024 is a lot of media isn't consumed by just talking directly to the Press it's also consumed in social media I mean I I have of most Americans now is to wake up look at your phone scroll through for 10 to 15 minutes then start your day so them getting their message out is happening and the fact that the Harris campaign refuses to talk to the American voter is one of the reasons why the polls I believe um are going to continue to uh oh it's a shame darn the the trouble is not in your set remember that from growing up when that happens uh so that's unfortunate our apologies the Byron Donald is really hoping to answer that question then get to other topics too we had other things we want to talk to him about you're going back five years you had this ACLU application that that um KLA Harris and her team filled out and part of it went to full decriminalization with appropriate treatment of everybody that was busted for drugs and I the drugs span the whole entire list and for some reason the the media has been very uncurious about that questionnaire and we don't know whether or not it's going to come up again and whether or not she's going to have to explain it but uh well well that's the problem I mean in the venues that she's in she's not pressed on any of these things so that's that's kind of what I was getting at with with Byron Donald you know in what is the venue to have the pressing of these questions are you better off than you were four years ago do we have them back we do yeah so uh hi good to have you back Byron Donald's is joining us once again do you want to um get yeah just just sir what do you think about um some of these extreme positions that are on camera from five years ago none of this came up the other night will the media get curious or not the media won't get curious cuz they're in the pocket of kamla Harris Let's just be perfectly honest and that's why it's going to be incumbent on President Trump and JD Vance to continue to press I'm looking forward to the vice presidential debate between JD Vance and Tim Walls I believe that's still scheduled for October 1st very interested in how that one's going to turn out but look kamla Harris's strategy is clear she's going to run and hide from the American people she's going to hide from the Press she will not allow herself to be cornered and that's very damning because how if she if that's how she's going to run as president what would she do as presidents she would hide from the American people no matter the crisis she would run and hide and send out staffers to talk on her behalf that's not leadership and the last thing I will say her campaign and debate strategy of trying to is to to needle everybody that might be cool on Tik Tok and on X that's not going to work with Vladimir Putin that's not going to work with gii ping they're going to laugh at her so we need real leadership in this country I hope that she opens herself up to the Press but I don't believe that's going to happen well thank you for being here sir appreciate your time we'll talk again very soon okay Byron Donald sorry about to screw up there but uh you made up for it stick saving a beaut Congressman always good to see you thank you very much so authorities linking trende araga to more crimes across this country The Wall Street Journal with a headline this is a story that you must read if you want to understand the threat that is posed by this group uh it's titled A Venezuelan gang expanding its deadly reach into the United States they report Trend aragua involvement is suspected in a 100 US cases that are currently under investigation bringing its violent brand of robbery and drug trafficking North and it includes Wisconsin where a suspected gang member was arrested just last week so the the person never should have entered the country to begin with unless it's part of the Biden Harris policy to allow known criminal gang members to enter the United States and they made their way here to pren and brutalized a mom and their daughter for a period of time over days less than half a mile away from where four of my grandchildren live yeah they have extreme and brutal tactics very much like what we've seen from the cels Texas is also now seeing a spike in gang activity and Brook Taylor joins us now from Dallas hi Brooke Martha good morning Dallas Police over here confirmed to me that they're investigating several crimes having to do with the trend day arango gang Now sources tell me as you just mentioned this is a d ous gang to pay attention to it's not just an issue though in this city I'm told Texas officials throughout the state are paying all attention to this gang the governor here in Texas Greg Abbott is even expected to talk about Trend araga next week but I want to bring you to a story over in El Paso downtown a hotel called the gateway hotel was ordered to be shut down temporarily because of all the crime and gang activity disturbing security footage captures the cha us inside a man with a gun another man swinging a hatchet authorities say there's wild parties drugs and in the pictures you could see young children even nearby record show police have been called to the hotel nearly 700 times look at this these are all the complaints you have everything from drugs thefts burglaries to fights the County Attorney trying to close the hotel down for good according to their petition officers say the criminal activity Spike since Trend araga gang me Members moved into their hotel now one man who lives there describes it as worse than anyone could imagine um yes it is yeah yeah cuz it's even worse I just don't want to get into details the Gory details yeah yeah but yeah there's blood on some of the walls and there's been multiple incidents as with gunfire inside the building and uh it's unfortunate we spoke to former US Marshall and El Paso deputy chief Bert elonte who says officials that are downplaying this game's presence are in denial and he says they're just concerned about their City's image so they're a big concern because they're extremely violent um extremely violent extremely dangerous and they're causing all kinds of uh problems here in the United States and they're involved in drug trafficking sex trafficking human trafficking uh robbery murdered you name it and border patrol confirmed to me they arrested three three people at that hotel who are from Venezuela an immigration judge previously told them that they had to be removed obviously they didn't listen so they were taken into custody that next step will be bringing them to the processing center Martha thank you very much Brooke that is a story we're going to hear a lot more about I'm afraid thank you Brooke prices are very high for us um we have not here raised our prices in 3 years on almost all items we're trying to maintain the prices and have consumer confidence but we're getting to the point right now where my husband says like this can't continue like things are just way too high everybody's talking about this the VP Harris trying to sell voters on her economic agenda what is that agenda Americans are feeling frustrated over the pain in their pocketbook we'll get to that Martha coming up and a scare on the grid iron last night the quarterback for the Miami Dolphins has a history of concussions this was a scary moment H I don't even like watching it uh again this morning and you see the coach walk out and there's the headit pulled last night from the game uh and we will talk about what happened there the backup quarter is I mean it's just more of the same I mean she's uh you know rolled out in that debate uh more spending that would be highly inflationary she literally was the tying vote that uh the most one of the biggest lies ever was something called the inflation reduction act it actually was the major cause of the of inflation it was the inflation creation act there is Doug bergham on our program yesterday years of high prices taking a toll now on the Harris campaign recent polling showing that voters think that the former president Trump is better suited to handle the economy that's been consistent in so much of this polling still however Democrats insist that Harris has a much stronger record we check into that now for the north Lina Rich edson's of the White House for that more hey Rich good morning he good morning Bill well the White House argues that the country is turning the page on inflation though it's been quite a Journey you look at 20% increases in prices since the early part of 2021 Republicans on the joint economic Committee in Congress say Americans in swing States especially are paying about $1,000 more a month for food shelter energy transportation and average monthly household spending and Republicans are tying all this to the Democratic nominee vice president Harris has said quote we're very proud of bomic well she should be after all it was the vice president herself whose votes here in the Senate helped send our economy into a historic inflationary Sparrow back in March 2021 now that was for the nearly $2 trillion American Rescue plan Republicans say it boosted inflation Democrats say it saved the country from a deeper recession economic data this week shows the pace of inflation has slowed though that's on top of the four decade highs and price increases the US hit during the administ ation Democrats acknowledge prices are higher but they blame pandemic disruptions in global conflicts and point to Rising incomes Paces paychecks have increased generally faster than inflation for the past year and a half and Democrats on the joint economic committee say wages and salaries have outpaced P Price growth since 2021 by nearly 4,500 bucks I believe that the VP highlighted on how we are better off on how on off now as as well as her plans to build on that progress that is something that she talked about how are we going to build on that progress annual inflation peaked in this administration at 99.1% in June 2022 the latest reading we have is August of this year is about 2 and a half% higher than August of last year Bill back to you got it rich thanks Rich Edson nice to see you more on this now with Martha all right let's bring in the co-hosts of the big money show Brian brenberg and Jackie d'angelus good morning to you guys great to see this um let's take a listen to what some voters said about what they heard from KLA Harris uh the other night in the debate let's watch she wasn't very specific when ask certain things she skirted around certain issues she knows how to be dramatic in a way that will touch the heart of Americans while avoiding the hot button questions ultimately she and President Joe Biden has been in office for 3 years now going on four years and they have yet to done do anything why why do she have to wait until what January 20th to do that I think she's she's weak right she's weak on the substance and weak on facts yeah Jackie track records everything yeah I mean it's interesting you have like one take post debate and then the more you dig into people's takeaway from it it gets quite interesting and I think you know the debate was many topics last night topics that aren't necessarily top of mind for voters the two most important topics are the economy and immigration and our Fox Power Rankings showed when he communicated effectively former president Trump on these issues it resonated with people think about what Doug beram said she is doing more of the same more government spending higher taxes for corporations and individuals and giveaways which put us in a bad inflationary spiral Trump is talking about a lower corporate tax he wants to grow our way out of this he wants to extend the Trump tax cuts no tax on tips so working people have more money to spend and it sticks to their bones these are all ways to strengthen the middle class which is what Harris says she wants to do but if you look at what they did the last three and a half years they made the middle class weaker when it comes to grabbing the headlines day after day no tax on tips is something that's stuck out and comma grabbed that as well and yesterday you got the thing no tax on overtime right what do you think I like lower taxes okay I'm just going to go on record and say I'm a guy if you're talking about lower taxes I'm happy the the problem you get into is when you start slicing it up to different things you get a really complicated tax code like okay what kind of income do I earn do I get a salary do I get commission am I on overtime I want to see lower taxes on overtime I want to see lower taxes on tip I want to see lower taxes on salary income I want lower taxes on everything but here's what I like TR Donald Trump is talking about you keeping more of your own money kamla Harris is not talking about that and if he wants to really distance himself from her that's the message he stays on all of this is about you and your money not funneling it through the government to some program or giveaway or housing or whatever is Harris is talking about that's a winning theme to me you know one of the things that came up was uh KLA Harris saying that Goldman Sachs said that her plan would make the country more prosperous and that would uh Trump's plan would would make it weaker and Goldman sachs's CEO David Solomon spoke out on CNBC and here's what he said about that claim by Harris at the debate that report which was mentioned last night in the debate came from an independent analyst I think a lot more has been made of this than should be the reason I say a bigger deal has been made of It Is What It showed is the difference between the sets of policies that they put forward was about 2/10 of 1% by the way we have no idea whether these policies these things that are talked about will ultimately be implemented he's a really smart guy and he's saying no no no we didn't say that don't put our name on your policies um look at the end of the day smart people on Wall Street investors um and the average you know person in America who shops at the grocery store and is dealing with inflation understands what matters most they lived it they had a track record under President Trump and they have a track record for the last three and a half years though why haven't you done it until now or why are you waiting till January 20th cuz they don't want to do it and they're not going to do it Harris got caught stretching the truth big time on that one the Goldman Sach CEO just came out and said what you said Harris wasn't quite right back check back check we needed a little more then another fact check from the guy wrot this in the fact checking on H Tuesday night thanks guys see you KCK on spee oh s come s s said no for do [Music] oh okay come or l oh I see [Music] what ch lock lock lock lck so l for your train you for spee fore hi
