a new college football season begins tonight for the Oklahoma Sooners it's also a new season for scammers to get over on students according to the O youth police Facebook page scammers are already targeting students in week one of the college football season for football tickets the University of Oklahoma Police posted this on social media Please be aware of a scam that has been targeting U students the perpetrators use stolen or fraudulent acquired OU student ID cards to claim their selling season tickets they request a photo of the purchaser student ID card to verify the purchase and the purchaser never receives the tickets that student's information is then used to continue scamming other students and the cycle continues we stopped by U Tulsa to speak with some students about this game I don't think that's right um I think those should be kind of exclusive for people who actually go here uh that's what it's for so I would I would hope that's not happening but if it is then then yeah that's kind of concerning um I didn't know that was happening my my dad he really wants some tickets so he'd probably be bummed if I wasn't able to use my ID to help get us some tickets to go to an OU game I mean I'm new to OU this my first time to CL I haven't never bought tickets to a sporting event yet but I think I would just for that reason alone just buy them strictly through OU and not through a third party resource because yeah then I guess you run the risk of ientity identity thefts yeah protect your personal information don't be willing to just give it out to all these other people like that be careful protect yourself the OU please recommend you contact u athletics directly if you've been scammed or need any more information on best practices for purchasing tickets you can also report any suspicious activity to uppd reporting in Tulsa I'm CJ Macklin new we
