There are a lot of trees
down right now, and at this hour, more than 1620 Consumers Energy customers are l without power here in Michigan. But a spokesman for the utility says they are hoping to get everyone's power restored by Sunday afternoon, and they have more than 660 crews from multiple states doing so. Here'a live look now at the
Consumers Energy outage map. As you can see, Kent County was the hardest hit area, more than 50,000 customers still without power. Right now, the college area is with the green outline. Show that crews have been assig. We are told that sometimes
the estimated time of restoration can change once crews get to the scene and there is more damage than they anticipated. Usually in the 1st, 12 and 24 hs this those those restoration
times are coming automatically
and they do change. So we we certainly encourage
people today to keep your eye on our
online outage map. What we're trying to
do is give people a good picture and make
adjustments as we're making adjustments
on the ground to know what we do for
our restoration. Consumers says they're
also prioritizing restoring power to areas
with hospitals, police and fire departments, water treatment plants and scho. At the peak, more than 200,000 customers were without power, ad coming up at 5:30,
we will get
a real time update from Consumers Ener.
